I always get the partisan kozleme (absolutely delicious), and added hummus (very good), and baba ganoush (also good). We also tried a new appetizer, their fried brussel sprouts and loved it. I'll definitely have to get again. For my main dish I got the manti, which is one of favorite dishes there, and recommended my friend get the lahmcun, another favorite and one of his as well. It came with some housemade chili sauce that was even spicier! There were like 7 mussels. Even though it was so spicy, the flavors were delicious so I bared through the spicy sauce. I ordered jasmine tea and it came as a packet of the jasmine tea with hot water. I would've loved it to be brewed loose leaf but that's ok. Overall, this place was delicious, and it was so cute! Not fancy, so much as down-to-earth and inviting. My wife and I shared a Chicken shawarma platter and a plate of fries. Simple things first, the fries were perfection. Crispy on the outside, hot and tender on the inside, and tasty through and through. The shawarma had plenty of chicken over a bed of soft white rice and was accompanied by some salad. It was a perfect meal for a weirdly cold May afternoon. On our way out, I mentioned to the owner that the food was really good, because it was, and mentioned that the shawarma wasn't quite as tasty as some that I've had in my travels. His face brightened, and he said that next time I should ask for it a bit spicier. Next time I'm back, and there will be a next time, I'll ask for spicier. When you go, and you should, ask for "spicier" too.

The ox tail, okra lamb, and cow feet tajins all looked delectable. I settled on the cow feet tajin ($20), served with rice. That arrived after about 10 minutes, piping hot in an earthenware bowl. Just looking at the glisten and the viscosity while spooning the stew, I could tell that the cow hocks had simmered long enough to melt and release collagen into the stew. The tendons came off the bone like the proverbial hot knife through butter. The stock proved rich in texture and flavor without overwhelming the palate. Whatever additional seasonings went into it enhanced the clear stock's savoriness without imparting a different direction to the palate. This epitomized the ostensible simplicity of a dish belying sheer time and effort to perfect a dish. As an aside, this sort of laborious effort resembled long simmered Cantonese stews that I grew up with. Hilariously enough, the only other occupied table was also an Arabic guy bringing his Asian friend along. Speaking of Arabic friends, my friend ordered the king koshary ($12) and had me try a bite. The texture contrasts of the varied grains, the crispy onions, and the savory tomato-based koshary sauce, seemed irresitible. I understood why it became a signature national dish.

Goat Bhutan: Basically fried goat intestine, goat stomach and goat liver, served with raw tomatoes, onions and puffed rice. Mostly crispy, like it was shallow-fried. The organs were delicious but too oily for me. 5. Brussels sprouts: It was said to be pan-fried but looked like roasted. Savory and sweet. Service was good and quick.
