Fun coffee shop and lots of room inside. There are lots of local products sold inside and an excellent stop for coffee, sandwiches, drinks for all kinds of taste buds. I've had this place bookmarked, and finally made it here. The weather was perfect for a drive down. We would of never stopped by, if it wasn't for Yelp! When we drove up, we were impressed with how bright the outside name was painted and the cute patio setting. Walked in, was already busy with customers in line and dining. There are two sides, one for online orders and the other for ordering. The display case was amazingly filled witty decadent pastries! I got the pastrami, hubby got the tuna panini, and for dessert a Napoleon. The sandwiches, were Great! Very generous portions of tuna and pastrami. The bread we picked was soUrdough, thick and crusty! Next time we will try the "bondi". I did notice a lot of customers picking up cakes and breads. I love bakeries, and this was quite a find. They did offer Greek salads and gyros, and baklava, so I'm assuming the owners are Greek. Maybe one day they will offer Greek fries! read more

Everyone is hostile and the cashier doesn't even know the menu. I was scared that my stepmom was gonna get strangled for asking for almond milk because they immediately interrupted her with a nasty tone saying they don't have it and acted like she was crazy for even asking for it. They deep fried our bagels and their menu is so limited and lied to my friend that they had no option for croissants until after she paid for it. They have horrible costumer service and didn't think to bring any utensils so my friend had to grab one handful of everything and literally as she was reaching for a fork some random employee asserted that the forks were right in front of her. They also act like people with accents don't know how to pronounce anything and when my stepmom asked for a tiramisu the cashier acted like she was speaking in morse code and made her point to where the "tiramisu" (which was just whipped cream on top of crust) was. read more

I was introduced to LA Bakery during a community event, when they were in their original space. Since then. They built their current building, close to their original location. The food flavors and variety has only expanded! I have to visit with a preplanned budget as nearly everything (including the sugar, gluten, et al FREE") as they look and taste magnificent! This cute restaurant is tucked behind the main drag in downtown Carson city, but was surprisingly busy when i visited during the mid-week for lunch. The first thing I noticed was the wide selection of beautiful pastries that lined the counter displays. But, I came for lunch... and they were out of their soup du jour: Spinach and Lentil (or something of the sort). Aw, man. They instead offered me their garden vegetable soup which was good, but you know the drill... when you have your eyes set on something, the replacement option just seems underwhelming. The second thing I noticed was their surprising lack of substantial vegan options besides a few salads sans cheese and the All Veggie Plate with hummus, falafel, pita, and greek salad (which I am now regretting that I did not opt for). I ordered the veggie sandwich instead. The sandwich itself was plentiful, if uninspired. I also ordered an iced latte with almond milk which was a bit milkier than I am used to. I was surprised at how little espresso seemed to be in the supposed coffee drink. But, on a positive note, they do have quite a large beverage selection, and next time I visit I might just try something else instead. Overall, this is a nice place to grab a healthy lunch with a friend, with plenty of seating and beautiful natural lighting. I just hope they will expand their vegan options. read more

I have to admit I had not been to this location yet! I remember when they had a tiny hole in the wall then added the canvas eatery out back, then they found this place around the corner! Well, I guess I just stopped going out for lunch for a couple years! Well, that's going to change! I knew they had some gluten free choices from what I've seen at the farmers market. Was meeting a friend here as it was one of her suggestions and I've been planning to go since they opened. Went in and was overwhelmed by the menu board!!! Thank goodness they have a printed order ahead menu, took one of those and sat down to figure out what would be best. I choose the turkey panini on gluten free and was surprised to find the bread tasty, held together, a bit dry but with dipping into "no high fructose" ketchup was splendid. I ate the whole cheese and turkey sandwich and was quite satisfied. Also had a hot chai latte and it was delicious. I'm ready to go back already to try another gluten free option but I'm afraid I'll order the same cuz it was so good. The pesto was super mild but tasty. At noon thirty there was literally one table left for us so expect to look for a table as soon as you arrive. The house potatoes were great, service was friendly and the interior had a lot of artsy visuals. I have only been here one time, so far. I ordered the Louisiana wrap for lunch. Let me say that this was more like a burrito than a wrap. I do not mean this in a bad way, only to emphasize the size of the wrap, the fact that it was toasted, and the the overall appearance. That being said, the price was what I would expect for a wrap, but the quantity of food I recieved, made this a good deal to me. There had to be at least half a chicken breast, if not more, in this wrap. It was full of flavor as well! I look forward to trying the breakfast and bakery options the next time we come by here! read more

We were standing in line (10:58am) to order breakfast (ends at 11). Got to the register at 11:01 and they refused to serve us breakfast items. They said they made an announcement but we did not hear a thing. You would think they would at least honor the people waiting to order. Sad to see it go. This place is incredible!! We live in Tahoe and rarely come to this side of Carson. It was worth the extra 5-minute drive. I'm trying to avoid bread, and I was able to get a falafel wrapped in lettuce. My son loved his grilled turkey and cheese. They have lots of gluten-free desserts. The customer service was exceptional, with Kat helping us out. LA Bakery Cafe is our now go-to anytime we are in Carson City! They have everything for everyone!! Sad LA Bakery n Grub Hub!!! Ordered two breakfast sandwiches for me and my coworker because of course we don't have time to make our own breakfast. LA does not add egg to the sandwich we wanted and GrubHub does not offer egg as an addition, so we put it in notes. LA bakery called to say that it's an extra charge and they can't honor it but if I'd like to cancel my Grubhub order and go on the site they created I can have it ordered by GrubHub. Granite, my driver was already on the way there and I don't want to wait a week for $40 for two sandwiches because let's face it LA bakery is probably one of the more expensive places you can order a bagel sandwich. It's $1.99 to add egg and they still would not do it!!!! I cannot say enough about my experience at this bakery. We were driving through town for a funeral and I was gluten free food options. We found L.A. Bakery and decided to pop in. They were so sweet and made great recommendations. They had a lot of gluten free options and I was so excited about the selection. I was having trouble deciding between the carrot cake and a lemon bar. I chose carrot cake because you never find a gluten free version. My family picked up a few other options while I asked questions about the blessed place to go for my family to be able to meet for a lunch. The staff was so kind and really listened to what I wanted and made an excellent recommendation. It's so nice to go to a place where people are so willing to help complete strangers. Not only were they there. I found a surprise later. I opened my carrot cake box after lunch and discovered that they had given me a free lemon bar. My mom and my favorite place in Carson. They always have amazing service and were great about checking for an allergen in a baked good for me. Carson City has many cute local restaurants and coffee shops but this one hits it out of the park! The newly expanded location has a vast menu of soups, salads, sandwiches, breakfast items, and of course, a wonderful case of baked goods. This thing that sets LA Bakery apart from other bake shops or sandwich places is the amazing variety of foods, all very fresh and healthy (yet inspired!), and the catering to dietary restrictions including gluten free, paleo and vegan. My coworkers and I popped in here after a morning meeting and had intended to grab a coffee but I ended up with a Buddha plate lunch, 2 pastries and a zevia soda. The plate lunch was big and delicious, with fresh grilled veggies, chopped grilled chicken, a ton of hummus, pita bread and goat cheese. I loved my meal and had plenty to take home. My only criticism is that I wish they had used fresh goat cheese instead of the packaged goat cheese crumbles. Even the lemon dressing that it came with was excellent! I was so satisfied. The pastries I got were out of sheer spontaneous indulgence because I couldn't resist. Now, being gluten free, I don't often get to enjoy pastries but they had a TON of unique gluten free offerings. I was so tempted but stayed strong to my healthier diet. Instead, I grabbed a blackberry peach bean muffin and a sticky bun to go. My husband and baby raves about them! We've been searching north Nevada for two years in an effort to find deli comparable to back east. Great news! L.A. Bakery. Yes, a bakery. Not only can you get a diverse array of different breads, cakes and other delectables...they have a huge breakfast/lunch menu. AT REASONABLE PRICES. We stopped at a bakery a couple miles down the road and it was shocking how much higher they were compared to L.A. Bakery. Naturally, I went right after the Pastrami on Rye. Is it the best ever? No. Is the the best in north Nevada? Could be. Easily number one in Carson. Safe to say we'll be back. We also grabbed the last marble rye and had it sliced for toasting. It went well with everything. From omelettes to bagels & morning wraps, even pancakes. Breakfast is served. Hot and cold sandwiches, paninis on five different breads, wraps and burgers. You'd be hard pressed to not find something you like here. Did I mention soups? Ha ha ha. A special homemade soup of the day, everyday. They even serve wheat-free and vegan soups. When the COVID-19 pandemic is over, I'll consider enjoying a nice sit-down breakfast or lunch here. In the meantime, I've been here in the take-out line picking out various versions of their amazing scones and maybe a few cookies thrown in. There are also various gluten-free options for those so inclined. I originally found out about LA Bakery in a "Best of Carson" issue via the Nevada Appeal newspaper. Until then, I did not know that any non-grocery story bakery existed outside of Schat's. It's a little farther drive from Genoa, but is worth the extra distance, as long as I get there early enough, as things seem to sell quickly. Now if they would only make a corn cherry scone similar to my beloved Cheese Board in Berkeley, my life would be complete. read more
