If you are in the area perhaps visiting the old Mint or looking at the state House, this is an excellent, close by spot to get your coffee fix.

Every meal at BV starts with complimentary house-made chips and dip. It's their flagship item and always delicious! My staple order is the grilled portabella veggie. It's so perfectly sauced with balsamic and smeared with goat cheese. Such a treat! You can get several sides, but their battered fries are always fantastic. My wife loves the chicken curry salad on the fresh croissant. It's hard to stay away from such a winning dish! I most recently had the turkey, pear, and brie sandwich. Holy cow! That thing was loaded and so scrumptiously good. The dinner menu is also excellent and has some special items that you can only get for dinner. Speaking of specials- they also have a daily special that always sounds great, though I haven't had any because the regular menu items are so good. The bistro itself is small but has plenty of seating. Some seating is inside the Carson Mall, and when the weather is fair, they also have some outdoor seating. They often have live music, too. The service has always been good here, both for dine-in and takeout. The timing for takeout has always been pretty accurate. I am always looking forward to another visit to Bella Vita!

The raspberry mocha was the standout for me, with a rich, deep flavor that really came through. My butter rum latte was good, but a bit milkier than I would have hoped for. The one thing that gave me pause was the price. At about $9 for a medium drink, it felt a little steep. That said, I appreciate supporting local businesses, and I was happy to learn that they use organic coffee. I've also heard they make their own chai, which definitely has me interested in coming back to give it a try Overall, a solid local coffee stop with friendly service and some unique offerings. I ordered the cereal latte with the marshmallows on top and my husband got the golden eagle. They both just tasted like a cup of milk. Neither of them tasted like there was any coffee in them. I'm not sure if this is typical for Dutch bros as I said, I'm not a regular, but we were very disappointed. I had a free drink for downloading the app which was nice but we paid $5.44 for his cup of milk.

My wife and I went to LA Bakery for our wedding cake back in November, and we have been meaning to write a review for them but hadn't gotten around to it until now. The owner was incredibly helpful through the whole process - from sitting down with us to determine what styles and types we were interested in, all the way to accommodating a couple of late changes. When the day arrived, we picked up the cake as planned, and everyone loved it. We really loved the design, which was a fall theme, and the cake itself was delicious. Since then we have stopped in at lunch breaks every once in awhile and also dropped by some weekend mornings for a quick bite before a busy day. They have always been super friendly and positive, and we have not once left unsatisfied. All of the baked treats are terrific (especially the lemon bars and croissants), and the lunch stuff is tasty too. I'm not usually too big on vegetarian and vegan foods, but the veggie soups they make are really something special. It's so nice to have a small locally owned business like this putting out consistently great food and friendly service. I really do wish there were more places like this in Carson. read more

I had the pleasure of dining at LA Bakery Cafe and Eatery recently, and I must say, it was an outstanding experience! The atmosphere is warm and inviting, perfect for a casual lunch or a quick bite with friends. What really impressed me was the quality of the food, especially the sandwiches. LA Bakery is a magnificent bakery in Nevada. I am very much proud of this bakery. They make very beautiful cakes based on my desire. Their chocolate cups or tiramisu cups melt in my mouth. This bakery is the one worth going to. Their stuff is always fresh. They wholesale their baklava and some other pastries. They have vegan and gluten free stuff! It is always exciting for me to visit their stores. I can not even explain how their sandwiches are. If I compare I can tell you that the taste of their sandwich is better than the same sandwich that I get in an expensive restaurant. Their gyro wrap, chicken santa fa, and the roast beef sandwiches are my favorite! Their cannoli's are like heaven! I highly recommend this place. Both were great and worth trying again. they have an odd system for coffee in which you only get one refill. That works for me. I give it 3 out of 5 stars and would have to try another visit. The staff was a bit rude. One guy might be the owner turned out to be the biggest tightwad in the world. A guy in front of me had a coupon for a free coffee with the purchase of a breakfast sandwich. His sandwich apparently is considered a lunch sandwich. Another Yelper confirmed the owner was right but to me just give the dude a free coffee. Instead he argued with the customer and I'm thinking he won't see him again. Over a lousy cup of coffee. I had a decent experience and will definately try this one again. read more

LA bakery is the perfect place to take your family! I came in the other day with my family for the first time and all I can say is it was a great time!! Everyone was super nice and they have a very large selection of goodies to choose from. I personally chose the chicken Santa Fe for lunch and a cannoli to go with it and there is absolutely nothing I can complain about. In starting to lose faith in this place.....I LOVE the food, however the last several times I have gone my order has been forgotten TWICE where I've had to step back in line to make sure I got what I paid for. Now I'm having issues with incorrect orders.....ordered to go only to find a completely different meal.....will not likely be finding another bakery to spend my time and money at... Just had lunch there with two co-workers. Very busy because it is so delicious and popular. No problem getting a table. Tuna on ciabbata was outstanding and enough for two meals. The fries are tasty and everyone enjoys sharing. We brought back a gigantic piece of carrot cake for a co-worker as a little birthday present. Thank you for the candle. Love this place! I want to try everything but only splurge once in a while. I have had a desire for scones as my new treat. I think the blueberry one is my favorite. I bought the mint chocolate chip one for my mom who said it was "deadly". I need to try their salads because they look amazing! The first day I found this place I was craving a bagel. I have been a huge fan of LA Bakery since moving to Nevada last year, but more recently have had two experiences that made me feel otherwise. Both recent visits were good food wise and drink wise but not manager wise. I had the "pleasure" of interacting briefly with him during both visits and he was rude, not genuine and has terrible customer service. Looking at the cakes at the counter makes my mouth water. They look very appealing and very delicious, but I need to control myself, too much cake is bad for your health. They have a great selection of tea and sweets. Got the breakfast ham bagel and an americano for my wake me up drink. After all the hype about this place we tried it for the first time today. The lady at the counter was extremely rude because I didn't want Swiss Cheese, and wanted to customize a sandwich. When the food came out the food runner was not friendly and practically threw the plates down on the table. When I asked for mayo she point and said "over there" couldn't even be bothered with it. The damn door bell, ringing over and over and over and over does not make for an enjoyable lunch setting. read more

I ordered a muffin and their coffee. The muffin was very moist and fresh. It was soft too. Their coffee was low acid. It tasted good, and I enjoyed it. I ordered a Gyro Pita Wrap. It had gyro, tomato, and a great tasting sauce in it. It was neatly wrapped and it tasted so good. I became a fan of that sandwich. I think they are the best. All our food was awesome, the service was excellent. Novel concept here, pay attention ... no one greeted us with the overused phrase " WELCOME IN." Hey folks STOP IT, stop saying "WECOME IN"! Anyway the tables were kept clean, the ice tea, water, lemonade never went dry. Refills were plentiful. The condiments on the tables were clean. The bathrooms were clean. The staff were attentive & very friendly! This is a rare place in an area where there is a desert of good Resturants! I highly recommend "Crazy Calamities"

The coffee here is still remarkable, and they have added a larger selection of beans, pods, and coffee accessories. Service is still about the same. Friendly but can take a long time, especially if you order food or something that comes out of the back. Still probably the best speciality coffee shop in the Carson Valley area.

(I mean it was empty-people came in and out) Last year I wanted a mug and they were sold out -I was so excited they had them this time. $31 for a plain mug was a little much however if they were more welcoming/friendly I may have changed my mind. Go for the coffee -don't expect feel welcomed-this is what happens when your first two visits were an amazing experience and you set your expectations too high. We can skip the shot next year and just order the coffee online.

You have to drive into Reno or Carson City to hit up a Starbucks or comparable coffee place. I heard from locals about The Roasting House. I saw pics of celebrities like Terrance Howard and Jeremy Renner sitting on the quaint little bar stools inside. Roasting House has officially entered the coffee chat room! On my first visit, I saw that the Iced Brew special was Carrot Cake. Um? Only my favorite cake! I had the best timing and hit the jackpot! Of course that's what I ordered. It was delicious! The decor is absolutely adorable. It's like a beautiful Victorian feel to it. It has beautiful furniture, pictures on the wall, and they have coffee, jewelry for sale and other items. Additionally, they roast their coffee beans on-site with a large vintage roasting machine towards the back of the shop. The place definitely has an elegant, antique-like ambience that fits perfectly with VC. They also serve various baked goods, bagel sandwiches and other breakfast items. You will have a great start to your day by coming here first. Service is impeccable and the staff is super friendly. As you go towards the rear of the shop, there is a beautiful patio that overlooks Virginia city and the streets below C Street. It's a perfect place to sit and enjoy your morning coffee and breakfast item. It's very peaceful with beautiful scenery and they've added some rustic patio furniture. I've been back a couple times and the prices are really good. I'm from the Bay Area and compared to where I'm from the prices are more than reasonable for coffee. But, if you like to ride, and enjoy the routes up to Virginia City, the Roasting House is an excellent place to stop for an alternate beverage than what is commonly sold up here. The service is quick and friendly, the vibe is laid back. Rustic decor with always the seasonal addition! With the trip for me! Support an excellent local business.
