My friend was craving tamales so when I went to visit her I thought I'd order from La Barca. They are close to home in a small strip mall. This store has been here for a long time and I've only gone in a couple times previously for miscellaneous items. I saw on Yelp I could place an order through the app and it was so easy. I paid with Apple, tip included and just waited for the text my order was ready! I ordered beef and pork tamales and they came to about $3 each. They came with red and green sauces and plenty of napkins. When I picked them up I saw they have tamales in their cold fridge case so next time I'll do that instead of getting them hot as we weren't eating them until later. They did have a good amount of meat and the masa was flavorful and light. Sorry no picture, next time! The store is very well stocked with about any Mexican item you might need for a meal or a fiesta!

I was visiting some family out of state when I stumbled across this market / taqueria...These tacos de barbacoa were some of the best tacos I've ever had .. perfectly seasoned and cooked to perfection .. every element of this taco were bursting with flavor and love . I ordered 4 and smacked em down . Can't wait to come back to this spot when I'm in the Reno area again. Skip the fast food and check out these tacos !!!

I've never not ordered a lot of food coming here + a pina juice. The price is right here. For less than $10, you can have a GINORMOUS burrito to either share or eat later. Their quesadillas are loaded with cheese, meats, and veggies if you want. I once lied to myself when I told my brother I didn't want anything from here while he was grabbing lunch.. next thing you know, I was eating half of my brother's steak quesadilla. Also, I orders nearly 30 tacos and my order took less than 30 minutes. This was impressive because I was not the only person in line and/or who just ordered food. Quick and flavorful. It's nice when restaurants make it easy.

A few of us had a long day off-roading in the hills and stopped by this small market/ restaurant for a bite to eat. What a pleasant surprise. This small mom & pop place had some flavorful food which was prepared with love. The service made it feel like I was at home and the portions were perfect. I had the steak dish and it was delish. Make sure you order the salsas. They specialize in this and it rivals any I've ever had.

This is a convenient spot to go for lunch if you are in the area. There is a restaurant inside of the store with a few tables but I always call and order to-go. They are always very accurate with their pick up time. If you decide to dine in, they will bring you your food! It is also nice to be able to shop around if you do happen to have some time to kill. Their food is tasty but it is a little on the pricey side. I ordered 6 tacos a la carte and while extremely tasty there wasn't very much meat on them and the total was a whopping $19! Despite the taste, for the amount of food I got it was unfortunately not worth it to me. I did notice after the fact that they have a taco plate that seems like a much better and worthwhile deal. I will be getting the 3 taco plate combo next time! The burritos are very filling and for a decent price of either $10 or $11 dollars depending on what type of meat you get.

This place is incredible! We GrubHubbed for delivery and the driver must have knocked things around a bit hence the look on the pics but the taste- top notch! We ordered the pork tamale, Barbacoa tacos, side of rice, Elote on and off the cob, chicken burrito, chips and red salsa. Everything has so much flavor! The order didn't have the consumme but instead carne asada tacos. Both salsas are amazing- note the red is incredibly spicy and the green is incredibly mild. Will definitely be ordering again!!

Cut a piece out and all masa (26. Pupusa Revuelta)

The "pupusas" were a flattened ball of masa with a weird sheer suggestion of sauce, Something chewy. Slightly sour. Idk what it was. This business shouldn't promote having salvidorian food if they can't make it. 60$ of masa. Save yourself the drive. They do however have yummy tamales.

    Asada Torta

My wife and I drive by this place all the time so we decided to give it a shot and immediately regretted our decision. This plus two drinks came to $30. Lack of visual appeal aside the few pieces of carne asada just tasted nasty we didn't even finish our food.

Yummy but and super spicy shrimp ceviche.

When I am in the Stead area and I want some homemade good Mexican food, this is my place. During Covid, they have take out. If you are ordering pupusa, you may want to call in advance, because it takes 15 minutes to make. I had my usual carne asada tacos and a Cabasa pupusa that was yummy. I love their green and red homemade salsa. The red is hot and your mouth will be on fuego in the best way possible. Clean store, where I also pick up fresh green and red salsa and homemade tamales. I really like the jalapeño and cheese and my family loves the red pork. The chicken are good for those that do not like spicy, but all the tamales were perfecto!

I love this place so fresh and the pupusas so good and fluffy masa and delicious cheese with pork, 10/10 Service they will offer you anything you need love it.

I found myself out and about with just my son and and we both thought a char grilled kebab sounded like a fun dinner experiment. We popped in and found who were guessing is the owner's child at the register and placed our order for their signature kebab made from ground chicken and Afghani spices. The plate came with sumac spiked basmati rice, two pieces of the chicken kebab and a small green salad plus a green hot sauce. The kebab was tender and juicy with a great flavor profile and a nice bit of charcoal flavor. We thought the rice was actually exceptional light and fluffy with a hint of that citrus sea tang from the sumac, in a buttery finish, made this a nice light side to the kebab. The salad was fresh and crunchy with cucumber, lettuce, and bell peppers and that green hot sauce was really great and we used it as a dressing because the salad did not come with one. For $16 I just felt like the value was a bit often the plate needed at least one more piece of the kebab because when finished with a small tiny salad and the kebab, we were left with a mountain of rice and that is south wasteful. I just wish the plates here were a bit more valued oriented and I guess it will take more people eating here to kind of drive that up. Highly recommend giving it a try plus the market has some really fun fines too. Share your review and let me know what you think.
