Rice, refried beans, pico degallo, and chips w/guacamole

This was my first time ordering from Nevada Taco Grill. It definitely won't be my last! There was so many options. I will have to order when I need a full meal, but I just needed some add ons. Their menu really is great with that! I was so happy to see that I could find so many sides. I had made enchiladas from scratch and my mom won't eat any hispanic foods without rice and beans. She also needs salsa. Well, I didn't have any of that and it was too late to get groceries . So I figured I could order some, just for her. Not many places had the options I needed. Once I checked Nevada Taco Grill, their menu gave me so many options! I even ordered chips for everyone at home. I ordered through Doordash, so I wasn't in person for the service. I also didn't get to see the interior.

Great little taco grill on Valley Road. Less expensive than the competitors nearby and the carne asada burritos are very good and flavorful. The adobagado torta was very good, and salsa is fresh and not an "add on" like some other restaurants nearby. Food was hot and prompt. Server was kind and courteous. Restaurant is clean.

The inside has that old school diner and saloon vibe people always mention, a little dark, a little busy, with memorabilia on the walls and a bar that looks like it's been there forever. It's not trying to be trendy, more of a local hangout with a lot of character and a steady crowd of regulars. If you go on a weekend, expect a wait because it gets packed. Service was excellent. Even with the place being full, everything ran smoothly and the staff stayed friendly and attentive the whole time. It felt like they actually care about making sure you're taken care of, not rushing you in and out. Definitely a strong point of the experience. For food, we had the chicken fried steak and the French toast. The chicken fried steak was exactly what you want from a place like this, large portion, hearty, and satisfying. The French toast was a nice balance to that, a little lighter but still rich and comforting. Overall, it's solid, no nonsense comfort food that hits the spot. This is the kind of place you go when you want a real meal and a laid back atmosphere. Would highly recommend. Great value and service!

PJ's is a just a good ol'fashioned diner and I mean this in the best way possible. The restaurant has a comfortable, rustic feeling and the staff are warm and welcoming. Like you came to their home for a meal. My wife and I split the French Toast Platter, which was 2 slices of French Toast, eggs and we ordered the link sausage. The French Toast was solid. Just good basic French Toast. Nothing bougie, just good French Toast. The eggs were eggs but the sausage was quite good. Rich with flavor. The coffee, while unusually expensive for a dinner, was just meh. Nothing special nor nothing terrible. If you are looking for a good, warm, welcoming place for diner food, PJ's just might be the place.

Got two burritos, a grilled chicken plate and a shrimp taco salad. What I loved about this lady's service was she placed order for ladies first and I absolutely felt being respected so did my lovely daughter. She also communicated with me in advance asking if it is ok to add fish in my taco salad since they were running low on shrimp. I said ok. It turned out the taco shrimp/fish salad was absolutely delicious. Everything was fresh, veggie, beans, grilled seafood and green sauce all complemented very well. Whoever in the kitchen knows how to cook and prepare for food. The food made us fall in love with Mexican cuisine all over again. Interior design was a mixture of old and new with Mexican cultural elements as focal point. Vibe was dynamic and lively. The owner brought much life to the environment. Highly recommend it.

I wanted to try someplace new and i saw positive reviews of their fish tacos so i went for lunch. I was greeted by stqff when entering which was nice. One of the first things that struck me was the overwhelming smell of burnt or stale grease. I don't know if they have a fryer that needs new oil or what but it was an unpleasant and distracting odor. Secondly, the bar surface that i chose to eat at was sticky. Now this is just after opening at 11:30a. Not that eating surfaces should ever be sticky but it is somewhat more understandable at the end of a day rather than the beginning. I ordered the two fish taco platter with rice and beans. My first bite of rice and beans seemed a bit salty. I have had bland beans before but never beans as over salted as these were. Then i bit into the taco and it followed the same flavor profile of being too salty. But it was garnished well and the fish filet was of good proportion, but it didn't look fresh and certainly did not taste very good. In fact i left one whole taco uneaten, which i NEVER do because i am a fish taco addict, but the flavor just got so salty i couldn't eat anymore. And since the rice and beans were salty also i couldn't really eat any more of that either. I left half my plate uneaten. A rarity for me. Also the chips and salsa are NOT complimentary but i must say they were the best thing i had there. Still, $6 for chips and salsa that are free elsewhere is poor value. Net net, those who say they have the best tacos ever need to get out more. There are plenty of other places in midtown that are hands down better than antonios.

I had a wet burrito which has salsa drizzled over it. Nada, it could've been water with food coloring. The meat was also flavorless, despite being Al Pastor which is basically marinated over a whole day. What gives? Service: Impeccable. The staff is super friendly and familiar. They're attentive and funny. I would probably bring friends and family here if the food wasn't bland. But if we're here to get hammered, why not. Ambiance: Awesome. It gives you the small cantina vibes but clearly geared for family and friends. I've been to many mexican restaurants, this one for sure takes the cake on terms of looks. All in all, great for people that can't have too many spices, people that want to bring friends and family, want to dine at a little slice of Mexico.
