Our first stop at La Bella Pearl did not disappoint! Lovely spot with a pretty view of the scenery. My husband & I enjoyed entrees only today but are looking forward to coming back for the antipasto, waffle and omelette bars. Service was above expectations.

The Villa was cooked amazingly and that wine sauce just put the cherry on the top! Potatoes were aso delicious with the vegetables.

My husband and I are new to the area and La Bella Pearl was our first date night destination since we've moved. Right away, we were so charmed by the ambiance. We got a window seat with a beautiful view of the forest outside. The restaurant itself is in a house that has been renovated into a full service restaurant, so the dining room has the vibe of a cozy intimate dinner party. There are real candles and flowers on the table and complimentary fresh bread with tapenade. Very romantic for date night. I read on Facebook that it is BYOB, so we picked up a nice bottle of wine to share. When our server saw this, he brought us a bucket of ice water to chill the wine and a towel to dry off the bottle while pouring. He was so attentive and friendly, and helped make sure my husband's entree (duck breast) was gluten free. One part of our night I can't get over is the prices! When I saw filet mignon with shrimp for $35 I thought we had accidentally been given a menu from 2010! We were so pleased with how reasonably priced everything was. Especially considering how high quality all the ingredients were and how immaculate the plating was. We love fine dining and this is some of the best we've seen. We left the restaurant with a new happy memory and very satisfied palates. La Bella Pearl made an excellent first impression and we'll definitely be back!

Cute little place on top of Monteagle Mountain. Professional waitstaff, amazing plating, food was great. Downside... it took 1 hour and 15 minutes to get a salad. Went for Valentine's Day. Had reservation for 6:30. We finally left at 8:45 after requesting to have the main course, dessert, and check all delivered at the same time.

Lovely, intimate atmosphere; gracious, friendly, attentive staff; wonderful delightful dishes! Chefs Cynthia & Tom always make dining here a world class experience. The "culinary cruise" theme special events are especially fun!

Dining at it's finest! Sunday brunch is exceptional with fix prixe menu that rivals any big chain franchise. Service was exceptional, as was the quantity and quality of the meals. Most surprising, was the subtle Caribbean (Jamaican) influence to the menu. An awesome surprise and very satisfying. And now for desert!

This was our first time at La Bella Pearl. I read all the reviews and was a little worried, but OMG were those reviews WRONG! We made reservations. We were seated immediately when we walked in. Service was exceptional! The best service I have ever had. We had the antipasto bar, steaks and my husband had the chocolate lava cake while I had the gluten free almond, pistachio, chocolate ganache cake. Y'all, that was the best cake! All the food was fantastic. Great ambiance! It felt like we were having dinner with friends and family in a cozy house. Definitely will go again!

Great evening. Service amwas awesome. Food spectacular.

The space is attractive, though it's far from being any sort of "tavern". It's rather loud, industrial. The worst aspect of the space are the tables for 2, which are small cocktail tables, really sized to hold a couple drinks, not dinner for 2. One is left with the impression that they're more interested in fitting as many diners as possible into the space rather than providing a fine dining experience. So much so that the wait staff apologized for the table size several times. Menu varies with the season, though we found most items on the online "sample" menu were on the dinner menu that night as well. Roasted oysters were plated very attractively, the oysters were plump, and the topping tasty, though several of mine were refrigerator cold - clearly made in advance and not properly heated for serving. Starter of sourdough bread with chili oil. The bread was wonderfully rustic, the chili oil was actually garlic oil. For my main, I had the "signature" trout. Pleasant enough, a nicely cooked filet swimming in a brothy sauce. Accompanied by a few small rounds of potato, what amounted to a single thinly sliced fingerling, I left hungry and considered stopping for a burger on the way home. The wife was underwhelmed with the duck. Kudos for providing an upscale dinner destination in Sewanee. Though not an option that we'd consider revisiting.

The restaurant is located behind the namesake lodge and has ample parking. They had a nice fireplace going on outside due to chilly weather. Inside was a super cozy southern vibe kind of a place. There were a lot of music memorabilia on the walls. The live music was really good. Randy Finchum kicked off the music and played original and sometimes hilarious songs. He made sure to crack a lot of jokes and stories between the songs. For food we tried fried pickles, fried okra, fried brussels sprouts, and sausage with onions and peppers. Yep...no sight of greens but man was everything delicious. Also, they have cheap beers available but only in bottles. Hubs ordered the Goodfella Pizza, with a couple of deletions, and loved it. I chose the Elana Ruz sandwich and it was glorious! The weather was delightful so we enjoyed sitting outside. We loved the overall vibe, although inside was a little loud. Their decor everywhere was so much fun! We also appreciated the drink refills as we headed out. As we left, we saw tons of parking in an adjacent lot, which I've noted for future visits. Unfortunately it was not the same caliber as our initial visit. Wife liked her dirty martini ok. My sazerac was too sweet and a bit hard to get through. The by the glass wine was a small and not particularly interesting selection. Fried lobster appetizer really had a much too heavy coating that overwhelmed the delicate lobster flavor. Still hard to pass on a fried lobster app though. The steaks didn't have that great grill flavor we remembered. My thin cut ribeye was overcooked as well. Though my side of fries were fabulous and the clear highlight of the evening. helpful hint - ask for no truffle oil; nasty stuff, I still can't understand why if shows up on so many menus. The worst part of the evening, and probably the thing that most made us think no on another return visit, was the party upstairs. It involved a lot of very young, very loud, screaming children. I have no doubt that it was a family gathering, but it struck any pleasure from dining in a cool historical space.
