And steak + fries that everyone enjoys without blowing the budget? The Italian ices are so good, you can't beat from any flavor from rainbow to banana cream pie! The staff works really hard to make the customers happy!! This business has been there for 129 years owned by the original Bonanza family- it's the oldest running family business in the beautiful hamlet of Oyster Bay!!

About a year and a half ago i was paying ~12.50 for 2 hot dogs and a small fry (which was already an increase), now its 17.50 plus 2.5 tip got me to 20$... that is ridiculous considering that equals a 40% increase over barely 2 years!!! The total Inflation in the past 2 years was only around 5.5%... like come on guys, super disappointed. I can get 13 (THIRTEEN) hot dogs with drinks at costco for the same price. i might aswell go to tabys down the street and get a half pound burger with fries and a salad for 21$. As much as it saddens me I just cant come here anymore guys, sorry! P.S. the quality has worsened, so its not even worth it

The wait to be seated and get serviced wasn't too long either. I loved the old school diner style and feel to the restaurant. If you're in Oyster Bay definitely hit them up, you won't be disappointed.

I highly recommend this mom & pop, diner like experience, in the heart of little Oyster Bay Village…read moreon the Island! Our server was friendly and continually refilled our water glasses without thinking twice and even the counter person who took our payments for the bill, was warm and kind. There are plenty of breakfast options, and the coffee was fresh, but I went with the "Oyster Bay Burger. It had mozzarella cheese, mushrooms, grilled peppers ( I told them to HOLD the peppers) and fried onions. The order arrived quickly to the table. The burger looked delicious, was delicious and was lip smacking tasty!! When that 1/2 pound bad boy came out, it was HUGE and it was love after first bite ! Fresh ground beef, Cooked to perfection, and so very juicy ! My mouth waters thinking of it now. Again they have PLENTY OF BREAKFAST options and at a reasonable price. Fruits, juices, eggs, toast, muffins, omelets, griddle specialities and more until 11 A.M. The rest of the menu carries traditional diner fair. You've got appetizers, fruit and juices, salads, beverages, Greek style salads, hot and cold sandwiches! The place has that ol' traditional diner feel, with wooden chairs & dining tables. It's like stepping back into a old time diner from the 50's. It's cozy and when I was there it was packed with people, seemed like a lot of locals. There is street parking in the front, but it can be challenging and tough. I recommend, though, I didn't know this until I used the restroom towards the back of the restaurant, that there is EASY PATRON PARKING SPACES IN THE REAR OF THIS RESTAURANT! Overall, this place is a great place to get your diner food fix! And the owner was on the premises and seemed to genuinely care about how his business was running. Wheelchair accessibility: is provided by a rear entrance, with, I believe, parking behind this restaurant. Buon Appetito!!!!!!!! Salute

My favorites of the night were the pastas and steak. We were lucky they allowed us to book a large party dinner, so my photos of the food are all "family style" servings. If Parmesan is too strong of a flavor for you, you may want to avoid the cauliflower since it is soaking in the sauce (delightful for those who enjoy it). Pastas were all handmade and interestingly shaped! My favorite was the Maltagliati, thin al dente ribbons sliding through a light flavored seafood sauce and tender succulent chunks of shrimp :) Everyone else chose the Gramigna as their favorite-- the curved thick ridged pasta reminded me of bucatini, which worked well with their ragu-like sausage sauce. The Garganelli had a long twisted penne-like shape but was not as al dente, a tad overcooked. It had a tasty vegetable-forward flavor. For entrees, the salmon was either poached or sous vide, making it very tender and moist which was a big contrast to the herb-crusted skin. That part mostly tasted burnt to me. The steak came pre-sliced, and it was tender but also had a nice chew -- perfect! The taste with the peppercorn sauce and mushrooms was really nice. Would definitely get that steak again, and I don't even like meat that much! And for dessert, the chocolate cake was a little dry even though it sat in a puddle of vanilla sauce. The crostata's green apple filling was sweet and tart, yummy! Things I think could be improved: the sizzling shrimp and salmon both had burnt/charred parts. Could be part of the charm, but it took away some of the enjoyment because it just tasted burnt. The small space was filled and busy all night, and it was a little loud as well. Their service was excellent; waiters looked polished in their white outfits and acted the part. It made for a lovely outing-- the birthday boy announced Gioia was his new favorite Italian restaurant! Definitely try this cute little spot out. I will be thinking about the pastas and the steak :D
