A simple tossed salad followed, crisp and refreshing, just the right lead-in for the main event. And oh, that main course! I ordered the Veal Marsala with veggies, and it was absolutely outstanding -- rich, flavorful, and cooked to perfection. Each bite had me smiling, and it was the kind of dish that makes you want to slow down and savor it. The staff here deserves their own round of applause. My server was attentive and kind, and when it came time to pay, the lady at the counter was so friendly it felt like leaving a friend's house after dinner. This little gem has won me over completely. When I pass through Cuero again, there's no question -- I'll be back at La Bella Tavola without a doubt.

I imagined on Valentine's Day that the atmosphere would be more pleasant but it was completely lifeless inside. There was no music playing and practically no one speaking to each other, making it quite awkward for my friends and I. We started with a very underwhelming Caesar salad, to say it was average would be a lie. We then bit into very obviously frozen mozeralla sticks with no flavor and a rubbery texture. Our pasta dishes were painfully plain, with the lasagna not even being layered, sauce that had no flavor, and an overwhelming amount of rubbery cheese. I understand this is a small town and suppliers likely don't provide the best options. However, I was actually angry when I ordered FOCACCIA and received a French roll cut down the middle and covered in more rubbery cheese. I suppose whoever made the menu has just never had focaccia anywhere else and assumed it means cheesy bread in Italian. Not to mention my server tried to charge me twice for it. If you are looking for somewhere to eat in Cuero do yourself a favor and go to Whataburger, Taqueria Jalisco, or pick up a frozen lasagna from HEB if you are really craving Italian. Quite frankly this was the worst italian food I've ever had, I'm sorry to say.

Caesar salad has cheap dressing that taste nasty! . No table busters and only two waitresses doing everything!!! No bartender!! This place has soooo much potential but it fails in the service and food quality area. It's. Shame because it has the atmosphere to be awesome, just needs a revamp. I figure it gets the reviews it does because your options in Yoakum are limited. Maybe this is the best of what's here??

Good: We ordered cokes to drink and we got them very quickly. Bad: the taste was off, either their fountain doesn't have filtered water or something was off Good: food on the menu sounded appetizing Bad: the physical menu itself was visibly dirty Good: had to wash my hands after touching the menu and the bathroom looked cool Bad: the bathroom also smelled horrible, had a broken toilet seat and was in serious need of a deep clean Good: food came out quickly and looked good Bad: the burger meat was very weird and mushy. Was it even beef?? Bad: the waitress never came back to our table at all to check on us and we had to go up to the front to pay. Good?? my husband refuses to not eat or drink things that he has paid for so even though the burger was mushy and weird and the coke was gross, he finished them all.

It gives everything a cozy, charming feel with a lot of character. Parking, though, can be tricky. It's limited, and if you're wearing heels, the rocky ground and steep hill can make it a bit of a challenge when the lot fills up. We had reservations but arrived a little early, and they were able to seat us without an issue. Service was solid overall. The staff was quick to let us know what items were unavailable, which helped with decision-making. I did notice a dish being served that wasn't on the menu, and when I asked about it, we found out it was a seafood and noodle special. Two of us decided to try it. For food, we started with the sautéed garlic ricotta appetizer, which was a standout. It had a really nice balance of mild sweetness and savory flavor. The eggplant parmesan was huge and easily shareable between two people, with great flavor throughout. Honestly, most of the portions felt big enough to split. I ordered the seafood special, and while the flavor was decent, the shrimp were consistently overcooked and chewy, which made it hard to enjoy. The mussels were the highlight of the dish, though they reminded me of the frozen kind you can heat up at home. Overall, it was an okay experience. Not somewhere I'd go out of my way to recommend, but if it were the only option in town, I'd consider going back.
