    Beautiful, intimate restaurant with great service and wine. The food was a bit disappointing, and the whole experience was a bit more Americanized than I was expecting, but still lovely

    Run don't walk!! This beautiful little restaurant falls into my top restaurants of all time. As we walked into the restaurant we were greeted warmly by the gentleman in the front of house. The restaurant is small and warm, with great music and a glorious ambiance. I was faced so that I was able to people watch. The menu is generally prix fixe with a quad of appetizers plus the entree of your choice. They have a glorious selection of bottles of wine, and a number of other alcohols, juices etc to drink. The appetizers came out, which included oysters with curry vinegar, leeks in a vinaigrette, eggs with crab meat and mayo, and smoked trout. Everything was so pure and the best form of itself. The leeks were sweet and tangy, the oysters fresh, and everything else also incredible. I got the onglet au poivre and my daughter got the vegetable medley for entrees. The steak was perfectly cooked to medium rare. The sauce was unctuous and not too salty. The vegetables were so clean and perfectly cooked. I implore for you to get dessert. The crème brûlée was a masterpiece and the thyme sorbet with chocolate was I'm serious, the best dessert I have ever had and I would go back for that alone. Also, get the dessert wine that is one the counter. It is sent from heaven. When you make a reservation they require a deposit, but I promise you won't be disappointed. It is the finest steak frites in the entirety of Paris and one of the best meals I have experienced. It was a special meal and worth every penny of what I felt was very reasonably priced for the value and quality.

    Very interesting menu concept which scared me at first-4 appetizers?! But everything was delicious and unique. The atmosphere is intimate and cozy, my favorite. And the service was warm and friendly. The appetizers were leeks, a cheese dip with fresh dill (favorite), an oyster, a hard boiled egg with crab (phenomenal). The steak frites was perfect with the au poive sauce which I was nervous about since I tend to not like it usually. But this was rich, flavorful with a hint of sweet.

    We had a cute table in the back that looked into the kitchen. Food was amazing and so was the service. We loved every single one of the starters (shocked how much we enjoyed the leeks) and the wine recommendation. We shut the restaurant down chatting up the staff. Le coucou is a favorite of mine in NYC - was happy to see this sister restaurant is equally hype worthy.

    Easily our best lunch in Paris. Service was friendly, English was readily spoken, tables were not too close together, and the food... Oh, the food. We started with classic vinaigrette, then moved onto raw oysters with green curry mignonette. We had the monkfish special, which was served with a green pea sabayon and the best steak frites of our lives. We finished with amazing chocolate mousse, and crème caramel. When in Paris, do yourself a favor, and make a reservation at this place. Your tastebuds will thank you. Highly recommended for an amazing French lunch.

    I'm a fan of Le Coucou in NYC and this spot is run by the same chef, Daniel Rose. My boyfriend and I stopped in for lunch and had an amazing meal of steak frites, green salad and thyme sorbet. The steak frites were absolutely perfect - maybe the best I've ever had!! One of my favorite meals in Paris.

    It's your last night in Paris. You want something French. You want something simple. You want one last memory. Maybe one last piece of foie and some vichyssoise? Maybe a perfectly cooked Steak Au Poivre and some scallops? Maybe a perfectly simple chocolate mousse to round out the meal? Very lovely restaurant with a cozy atmosphere and a casual service to put anyone at ease.

    Chef Daniel Rose's second Paris restaurant is a great bistro in the heart of the city. The vibe has a contemporary twist to the classic and is super cozy.(less than 20 people capacity). We were greeted by very friendly staff - don't forget to order some wine by the glass. We had some superb French bistro dishes from the relatively small menu: the steak frites with a peppercorn sauce was to die for. The slow braised chicken was yet another classic but was executed perfectly with seasonal vegetables. Eaters calls out collier braised lamb neck Provençal style, but was not in the menu at the day of my visit.

    Things in Paris keep getting better and better. We went to this charming little restaurant with friends who dined here last year. It turns out that La Bourse et la Vie is associated with the highly regarded Stephen Starr restaurant Le Coucou in Manhattan. There was only one waiter taking care of the 6 tables in the front dining room. He was charming. Wine by the glass was excellent. My buddy kept waxing poetic about the Pinot noir champagne that he was drinking. We had the assorted appetizers that consisted of leeks in a vinaigrette sauce, melon with smoked fish and crostini. We got the chicken for two and it was possibly the best chicken that I have ever eaten in my life. It was a deboned half chicken that managed to be crisp and juicy at the same time. We had the best frites of our trip. We shared excellent chocolate mousse and a mixed berry clafoutis for dessert. We were comped some thyme flavored sorbet that was very thought provoking. This was our best meal in Paris so far. I will prioritize eating here again when we return.

    The food is exceptional, the staff is attentive without hovering, and the small seating area is cozy and does not feel crowded at all. Highly recommend the hors d'oeuvres (all of them) and the steak frites. Let me know about the dessert - we were too full to eat anymore

    We came to this highly recommended spot expecting a French bistro lunch. We were surprised to learn that Daniel Rose is in New York and loaned his restaurant to Ukrainians until June 2022. This was a wonderful surprise. There is a prix fixe menu of Ukrainian dishes. We started with pumpernickel bread with Creme fraiche and caviar plus slices of pike. There was also a selection of pickled vegetables. Next was pork and potato dumplings with a sautéed onion sauce. Then, cherry dumplings with sour cream. The main dish was a wonderful beef borscht. My husband said he has had borscht many times, but never as wonderful as this dish. Dessert was three small pieces of Ukrainian cakes. DH loved the Kyiv cake which was made with cashew nut paste. Due to my egg and dairy allergies, I just watched him devour the cakes. Finally we had very generous servings of strawberries and cream (and plain dairy-free strawberries for me). Please visit spring of 2022 to support Ukraine. Most tables added a separate donation for our Ukrainian hosts before leaving.

Luckily we walked 6miles that day and skipped lunch. Started with a garden salad, but sadly we had no room for dessert. Reservations via email. We managed to get a 9pm reso, last minute, I bet due to a cancellation. They have 2seatings...6pm & 9pm.

I understand they are small with a limited number of tables so that's fair and it seemed like everyone showed up even though they don't require a deposit. On a Friday night, it didn't appear there was much chance or walking in although there were like 2 open seats at what would have been a shared table. The menu is small and includes some typical French starters, steaks, 3 non steak entrees, cheeses, and dessert. All steaks come with potatoes, 3 sauces, salad. Service was a highlight. The waiter was personable and funny, had solid recommendations, and made sure leftovers were taken home. Also had a solid wine recommendation after asking some questions. They probably get a lot of people who don't speak French and they had no problem speaking English. The food- ordered a ribeye medium rare. The steak was so so charred on the outside and it almost ruined the whole thing. I really wish they would have charred it way less especially when it was ordered medium rare. There is seared and then there is burnt; this was sadly the latter. The steak itself was fine, honestly nowhere near the best meat I have had but the price is quite reasonable for how much you get. I would say the steak was maybe 6/10 for me, largely due to the cooking. The fries were phenomenal. Definitely a highlight and really tasty and with a great texture. Salad was good, pretty typical. I wanted to like the sauces more but found them just okay. The best by far for me was the blue cheese sauce but even this one I thought the flavors could have popped a little more. Atmosphere was fun, there were a few bigger groups (6-8 which is the biggest they accommodate) but it never got unreasonably loud. Overall I wanted to love it but was a bit disappointed even though the service and fries were both great.

We should've noticed something was wrong when no one was inside. When the waiter (lone person working along with cook) gave us the menu, my wife and I stared at each other completely confused. The menu looked nothing like the ones on this website and featured Italian food items, like spaghetti, arroz con pollo or mozarella. I asked him about frog legs or the onion soup. He looked confused and just said no. Out of respect for him, we just ordered the charcuterie, which featured stale bread and a few slices of meat taken from my local grocery store in the U.S. Also -- they claimed to not accept any international credit cards. WHAT HAPPENED? Are all these reviews fake? Most likely, they underwent new ownership right when we visited. But new visitors -- please beware. Do not trust any of the reviews before mine. If I was mistaken, please post photos and just tell me that I was part of some elaborate joke to ruin a lunch for me and my wife.
