This place was awesome, I'm recommending it to all my friends that visit Paris. Awesome service, awesome good!

What an amazing lunch we had. Excellent food and phenomenal service. Our waiter Magda and maître d' were a hoot. We sat outside on a wonderful quiet corner, the ratatouille was so fresh and delicious. My Turbot was perfectly cooked served with mash and a delicious Béarnaise sauce. Unfortunately they are not open on weekends.

I would book a trip specifically to go back to Chez Georges, and it will now be a place we stop every time we're in Paris. The ambience, service, and overall environment was absolutely incredible. On top of that, this was truly the best steak and frites I've ever had. Ask the waiter or waitress for their recommendations on wine and dessert to pair with whatever meal you get, you will not be disappointed! 10/10 experience!

I made a reservation on TheFork for when the restaurant opens at 12pm on a Monday, so I was seated right away indoors in the main room. It was mainly myself in the main room until about 15 to 30 minutes in. The lovely server brought bread and butter in the beginning, but I didn't have any because I knew I was going to have a big meal. I ordered the famed Cœur de Filet de Bœuf Bernaise, and goodness... I have zero notes. The beef was cooked beautifully, and the Bernaise sauce was perfect. The french fries that come with it were the best I've had: not too thin, and perfectly crunchy. There was nothing left on the plate by the end of my meal. They've truly perfected their science, and I will certainly be back to enjoy more of it!

Julia Child's favorite restaurant in Paris. How do you pass that up ? And seriously, I doubt much has changed in the years since she and her husband dined here. Standing still in time. The menu is hand written. A very full fun page to decipher, English is available, but come on. Look at the French one. Seating is tight. The host has to pull the table out for you to sit. There is only a couple of inches between the tables. Please take your time here, or at any French restaurant. Savor. Enjoy. It was a drizzly day out and almost two hours nibbling on goose rillette, pâté, sipping wine and discussing the city here was perfect. So many choices. I finally settled on the rich pink duck with earthy wild mushrooms as my main. So much food in two courses. I recommend sharing a starter so you can check out the desserts. I saw some incredible ones go by. Two starters, two mains and three glasses of wine was $110. The most expensive meal during our stay. Ambience, food, and service- I would do it again. I have spent twice that in the States for less.

Beef filet with bearnaise sauce and fries & duck breast

My husband and I came to Chez Georges for a weekday lunch at noon and were able to be seated right away as we were one of the first people to dine. The restaurant itself is small but has an intimate feel so it would make for a great date night spot. They gave us a basket of bread and butter to munch on as we perused the menu. We started off with the assorted cheese platter and Lyon sausage which were both good but not spectacular. I felt that there could have been a little more variety in the cheeses they selected as they were all soft cheese varieties and with the exception of the blue cheese, all tasted similar. For our entrees, my husband ordered the beef filet with fries and I ordered the duck breast with mushrooms. We both ordered our cuts of meat to be cooked medium rare. My duck breast came out cooked the way I liked and it was delicious. The mushrooms were also seasoned nicely and cooked well. My husband's steak, however, was overcooked and was definitely not cooked medium rare as ordered. It was underwhelming for what we expected to be a great dish. The bearnaise sauce served with the steak was way too thick and overly salted. Overall, our meal was mediocre but not fantastic, especially for the amount we spent for meal during lunch. I've had better food in Paris and probably won't return here in the future.

Fantastic dinner! Party of 4 meeting with friends for a special dinner in Ternes. Lamb, Sea Bass,Duck all cooked to perfection with flavorful sauces. Excellent service! Over the top desserts! The floating island (meringue), flan and custard cups exceeded all expectations. Loved the dinnerware! Sure to return while in Paris- reservations recommended

We've been coming to Chez Georges for years! Consistently great food and service we recommend the escargot and steak. Plan ahead and make a reservation.

We came here on our last night in Paris and it did not disappoint. Our hotel actually reserved this spot for us and we loved it! I would say it was probably one of the better meals we had in Paris. Everything was so good! Starters: Lobster bisque and escargot Entree: sole meuniere and duck breast Desert: apple tart The complimentary bread was delicious (ate about 4 pieces) lol. Our server split the bisque for us into two separate bowls as my husband and I were sharing. It was thoughtful of them. Their bisque was creamy but not overly so and tasted like lobster. The escargot was the best we had in Paris. It came out in its shell and we had to pull it out with these little forks. Tasted so fresh (also cost 30 euros) I got the sole meuniere and it was out of this world. Yes, it was a little pricey at 47 euros but soo worth it. Buttery, cooked perfectly, and tasted phenomenal. I didn't care for the 2 naked potatoes on the side. My husband got the duck and it came out perfectly medium (in French- medium rare lol). He loved it and enjoyed the side of mushrooms. After all that food, we decided to share the apple tart. Omg, it was the best apple tart I've ever had. It came with a huge bowl of creme fraiche (basically like sour cream) and it really helped balance out the tart in the apple. Overall, really enjoyed our meals. Knocked off a star for cramming us in with the other diners when there were other spaces available and you literally had to pull the table out to get out. My husband got water knocked over on him. Yes, it's that tight!

    Very happy customers!

Sure this is a tourist trap. But some of the most authentic French food you'll find! A cozy bistro that is a throwback from 1968. But who cares, you're in Paris! The service was quick and attentive. The 4 of us had 3 bottles of champagne and some of the best tasting cuisine. I had the smoked Norwegian salmon appetizer, followed by a $79 lobster salad. Phenomenal! The foie gras was succulent & the place was packed! We eventually closed the restaurant after desserts, coffee & more champagne.

This is a classic French place in a great area in Paris. Be ready to sit close to your neighbor, but that is part of the charm. The food is delicious and the staff is helpful. I love the sweetbread here. It is in a cognac sauce with morel mushrooms. The profiterole is yummy too!

Food was decent, though nothing special (especially by Parisian standards). Staff was unfriendly, though, which really hurt the experience.

The richness of the flavor and the texture which is not reminiscent of the traditional roasted duck or foie gras, but rather a much more like a luxurious and indulgent version. We enjoyed our dinner on the outside of the restaurant after about a 20-30 minute wait. The bone marrow had the best flavor I've experienced for the dish. However, it is definitely overshadowed by the rich flavor of the foie gras. This experience was unforgettable, with our view of Parisian streets on a brisk, April night. We even came back on our last night, but didn't realize the hours on Google maps was for the deli. The restaurant closes earlier, before 9:00 PM. This meal got us thinking about Paris in a positive light, and we hope to be able to come back to eat the amazing dishes again!

They had a number of goods to choose from and I ended up buying a few things for souvenirs. As for the actual restaurant, they had a number of delicious sounding items on their menu. Our server was very attentive to us and helped us decide on our dinner orders. Similar to the other restaurants though. After our food was delivered, it was far in between when we were checked on again. And after dessert it took even longer for our server to bring the bill. Overall, the food was a letdown. I do not exaggerate when I say that the frog legs just tasted like slightly flavored water. My friend's ravioli had a fairly decent flavored sauce but the pasta was a bit chewy. My friend's duck breast was pretty tough; I had noticed the table next to us also ordered it and they seemed to have trouble finishing/cutting theirs as well. As for my steak with foie gras, well the steak was once again tough and the foie gras was weirdly stringy. It was soft for the most part but there were parts that were tough and stringy. Maybe that's a section that's generally separated in the preparation process and it was missed? In any case it was disappointing. What wasn't disappointing was dessert though; perfectly sweet and balanced.

On the other hand, it made me realize that my mother was a terrible cook. Bistro des Augustins is a small, cozy venue offering both indoor seating and terrace seating near Pont Neuf. It serves a small number of curated dishes, including a wonderfully traditional Bistro Gratin in a homey ceramic dish served piping hot with a brown crispy cheesy top, herbs, spices and chicken. You can also get it with salmon. My brothers and I only saw my mother use our gas range to light her cigarettes, sanitize needles to remove our splinters, and make s'mores during the summer months when she couldn't muster the energy to take us 'outside camping.' I mean, all she had to do was borrow a cookbook, which I'm sure were readily available from maybe a neighbor or in any local bookstore or the public library. How hard is that? I was the only kid who brought a can of tuna and his own monogrammed can opener to school every day. Every day. And mom convinced me that the tuna holster she got me for my birthday was cool and hip. I was a naive mercury-filled fool, although I did become a very fast runner in junior high school because of the tuna holster. The interior décor of Bistro des Augustins is informal and vintage bistro style - wooden tables, traditional chalkboard menus, and soft lighting - creating a relaxed and comfy ambiance. My eyes have been opened to what's possible. Thank you Bistro des Augustins for expanding my culinary horizons. Five stars.

The menu is entirely in French which, honestly, makes the experience better. You stop ordering with certainty and start ordering with curiosity. My wife had the risotto d'épeautre aux St. Jacques. I ordered the Magret de Canard au Romarin. The duck was solid. A 3.5/5 kind of dish. Rich, savory, comforting after a long day walking through the city. But the risotto surprised me more. The scallops were delicate, the spelt added this earthy texture that made the dish feel substantial without ever becoming heavy. And then there's the mousse au chocolat. The famous one. Served from an oversized bowl with this almost excessive "all you can eat" energy that somehow still feels elegant instead of gimmicky. We only needed a few bites. Soft, luxurious, lightly bitter chocolate balanced perfectly against just enough sweetness. The kind of dessert that doesn't ask for attention. It quietly earns it.

I enjoyed the mini mushroom raviolis and delicious Grand Marnier soufflé. The plat was somewhat odd because the chorizo chunks were really strong flavored which overpowered the scallops. I ate one chorizo chunk and pushed the rest aside. The scallops were cooked perfectly but not seasoned. The service was gruff/quite brief with dishes dropped by assistants. My biggest complaint was the stressful ambiance during the meal. It was freezing outside. The door constantly opened and new patrons came in hovering over diners in my room.
