Service and drinks are great, the food is mediocre. The Potato pancakes taste like tortillas with sauce (out the can) on top. The meat balls taste like they come frozen and they are served with the same sauce (out the can). The ribeye was cooked to perfection and the side salad was fresh and delicious. The corn salad was also delicious.

Honestly the food best experience. Me and my bf went for the Wednes-date thing and it was so much fun! We got a 3 course meal that was chosen by the chef and dollar oysters!!! Our server was super nice and explained all the interesting dishes, sauces, and how to eat oysters. So much fun!

I went to La Brasa last week at 124 Broadway, Somerville, MA. This spot features a wide variety of elevated dishes from around the world For appetizers we had the beet salad which had beets, fennel, apple, and mustard. We also had the elote which is Mexican street corn and flautas which were fried tortillas with meat inside. Finally, for apps we had the deviled eggs which had onion and chipotle aioli. For main dishes we had the squid ink pasta. This pasta was so fresh and homemade (so if you like the taste of fish this one is for you!) For dessert we had the banana pudding with ice cream. This had a great balance of sweetness. Would order this again! My personal favorites we had were the the street corn and the deviled eggs. Each dish was elevated in such a way that you just wanted to eat more and more of it! This is the perfect spot to meet a friend or have a nice date. The ambiance is classy and romantic check it out if you are in the area! Affordability: 6/10 Ambiance: 8/10 Food: 8/10

Beautiful atmosphere. It's a shame the food and service didn't match up. It took way too long for the server to take our drink order considering we were the only table. She continued to be lackluster. The shiitake mushroom crepe, flautas and arancini were overcooked. The highlights of the meal were the shrimp pupusa and Mexican street corn. Both delicious.

The vibe here was great. I loved all the plants everywhere. They had a modified menu do to COVID so somethings that I really wanted to try were not available. My friend and I both had the burning passion to drink and it was delicious! I really enjoyed the burnt tortilla seasoning salt rim - it sounds weird but it was good, had a little spicy kick to it. The table shared the guac, it was very smooth and creamy and had a strong lime flavor. I really enjoyed it - it was new and exciting for guac. I had the veggie quesadilla for dinner - heirloom corn tortilla, cauliflower, poblano chili, cheddar cheese - it was good. It felt like it had meat in it, but it didn't. I liked it.

You walk in and are immediately welcomed with the warm smell of the wood oven, cool greenery and cozy decorations! This paired with $1 oyster special was exactly what we needed on a cold fall day. The food and service were excellent, and we stayed and dined for quite some time. My favorites were the lamb tostada and the tacos for appetizers. The swordfish and the duck entrees were amazing- served in a creamy sauce and mole sauce respectively, and very nicely arranged! Great decor and atmosphere and great food!

There are options for AYCE as well as by weight, and if you do by weight you have to weigh everything you get at the side buffet and only get meat from the counter, so we opted for AYCE because that seemed cumbersome. The service here was friendly and attentive and as long as your token is green, the meat literally comes nonstop! I really liked their sides and salads, especially the plantains and fresh fruits. The meats were perfectly done and though they didn't really ask, all my pieces were medium/medium rare which is how I like it. The cut that was infused with garlic was really good, as were the sirloin and the chicken hearts and spicy pork sausages. Some pieces were very salty, but I'm pretty sensitive to salt. The grilled pineapple was luscious. If we didn't already have cake waiting for us at home, I would have definitely indulged in some tres leches or lime cake. They ended the meal with cooked cheese dipped in honey or guava sauce which was interesting. The fresh fruit at the salad bar was really refreshing. I probably wouldn't come back because it's just way too much meat/food for me and not my usual favorite (also rather pricey for dinner/weekends). However, my family had a great meal here and I think it's definitely a step up from fogo de chao in terms of quality and service. If you're into Brazilian steakhouses (or steak in general) I would highly recommend this place.

We started off with small salads, the rocket and the green. The rocket was fine (though the dressing wasn't on the side as requested). The green salad was pitiful. Small, tasteless, and dull. The scallop entree with a baked potato was flavorful, but the presentation was a sorry sight. Just a big plate with a potato, a wilted lettuce leaf and a (rather small for the price) serving of scallops on it. I've seen more exciting plates served in a middle school cafeteria. The pasta with meat sauce was atrocious. A very large serving of overcooked noodles drenched in a flavorless sauce. I make my own pasta sauce all the time. It isn't hard. This tasted and looked like they opened a can of crushed tomatoes and mixed in some ground beef. No spices really detected. A few small strips of basil on the top. Don't tell me we should have had steak. If it is on your menu, it should be done well. Desserts we saw on another table looked nice. The kicker was that we were overcharged. The rocket salad as a side had a $2 up charge on the menu. The bill showed $3. They did fix this when shown. Definitely not worth the walk.

We started with the potato skins which were ok nothing to write home about fairly simple. We both ordered the prime rib and mashed potatoes with a salad. The salad was fairly basic lettuce, one chunk of cucumber and one quarter of tomato with a red onion. The meal came out fairly quick, but was lukewarm. The prime rib was decent, but didn't have much flavor without horseradish. The mashed were bland and cool. Our server was nice but just seemed very nonchalant. However the gentleman that brought our food had a ton of personality and was really nice. The restaurant itself was pretty clean and not super loud given that they were fairly full. Definitely an old time steakhouse meets Italian spot vibe.

So my wife and I didn't feel rushed which was nice. Drinks are very good here! We tried few different drinks and all of them were excellent. Food here was on the money. Everything we ordered was tasteful, no complaints. We ordered the long bone steak . Recommend. Going into this restaurant we figure it will be pricey, which is fine for quality and experience. TL;DR - if you are from Bombay, are craving that specific Bombay Chinese food taste, and Vada Pav - look no further - this is the place. Shiv, our server was friendly and our hungry table got straight to ordering which included a flavor packed and well priced Lychee Martini ($10), Masala Chai Hot Toddy ($12), and Spicy 'Lil Rita ($12) - being the best one! Wow talk about a hidden gem!…read more I hadn't heard much about this place so I wasn't sure what to expect-- located in Inman square with nearby limited street parking (there's a metered lot on Springfield street nearby!), Oak Bistro is a medium sized restaurant with a simple but chic decor and true focus on hospitality. When we came in we were greeted and our coats were taken and put away. They have rotating specials that our server walked us through. We ordered all three of the mock tails on the menu -- Odin's Oracle was a sparkling elderflower and passion fruit drink, the Northern Rose was fruity with a slight thick cream of coconut base (and the tables favorite!) and the last drink was a warm ginger drink. They all came out looking beautiful. For food, we started with the Halloumi Cheese which was delicious and perfect for sharing (comes with four pieces), then tried the Blueberry Ricotta Cornbread (really well made and yummy but needed a little more butter spread) and the fried burrata (huge serving of burrata with balsamic, fig jam, warm bread, just as good as it sounds). We tried the Braised Short Rib Croquettes which were stuffed with short rib and topped with sooo much yummy cheese. We also had the Pappardelle braised shore rib Ragu which was truly delicious-- would highly recommend. For dessert we tried a special menu bread pudding which was a perfect end to the night. Our leftovers came perfectly packaged in little baggies with dish names and dates written on them which is so cute and thoughtful! Overall I would order everything we got again and was so pleasantly surprised by the caliber of food at Oak Bistro-- get in and try it before it gets too popular!
