My favorite neighborhood smoke shop in LA. I have been frequenting it for over a year, so this isn't a one-time review. I'm probably in there every other day. The owner & staff are smart, friendly and helpful. I've never felt rushed. If I have a question about an item, and they don't know the answer, they pick up the phone and call someone who does. Just amazing service in an often busy store. And considering the tourist trap neighborhood, the prices are very reasonable. It's a small shop size-wise, but they have a huge selection of brands and products, a beautiful humidor, and drinks/snacks. Parking is a huge plus b/c this is a congested area. ZERO STARS - i have never been treated this disgusting as a paying customer. the miserable man working closed the store early to sit behind the counter & scroll his phone. when i knocked he completely dismissed me so i called & he answered to say "we're closed." very rudely so i told him store hours say 9 to which he couldn't argue that it was not 9 yet & reluctantly got out from behind the counter to unlock the door.. but continued to say "we're closed. i'm cleaning" even though he wasn't.. again rude so i pointed that out & told him i'm a loyal customer here & won't shop with them again with that attitude he's gonna run out of business so he refused me service & i'm like really? he even escalated to calling the police on me?! & followed me out to take pictures of my license plate. for the record i am a 5' small girl.. i have the whole encounter on my phone because it was that bizarre. if he would have just sold me the loose leaf i came in for guaranteed the interaction would have been under 5 mins in n out. now i really need to smoke yall read more

This store charges you a fee for using credit cards but they don't tell you they're going to charge you until after they process the transaction. I Purchased a pack of rolling papers for $1.50 and they charge me $.70 which is almost half the cost just to run the card. This right immediately after I had asked if it was OK if I use a charge card for such a small purchase and after he ran the card, he said sure we just charge you 70 cent fee. But that was too late the transaction had already gone through. At first, he offered to return the purchase, and then he changed his mind and told me to take it up with the manager on Monday. What an asshole. I do not recommend this place. they do you happen to have a small sign by the register that says they charge the fee, but there's dozens of signs all over the place. Are we supposed to read all of them before we make a purchase? Better service would be to tell each customer every time you run the card that you're going to charge them for running the card, simple, customer courtesy. Honestly, I don't care about $.70 it's the principle here. You're doing a disservice to your customers and you're giving terrible customer service. do better read more

Since their opening a few months ago, 2-for-1packs of Parliament Lights are ALWAYS in stock for $5.40 (tax included). They also have deals for Camels and Marlboros but I don't really pay too much attention because they're not really my brand. Aha! A proper humidor in Hollywood! They have a very nice selection of cigars here, including a few that have been hard to find (for me, at least) lately like the A. Fuente Hemingways. The prices are reasonable, about the same as other cigar stores I've been to. Good prices on cigarette cartons, too. They have Winston Lights cartons of soft packs, which are also hard to find for some reason - the nearby 7-11 and Mobil station only seem to have cartons of box. The guy behind the counter whom I presume is the owner is a very pleasant fellow. Marios, or Madios, I think his name was (pron. ma'-dee-ose). He threw in a free lighter, granted I popped for 95 bucks worth of cigars and cigarettes, but it was a nice touch. I like this place! read more

I'm picky and my brand of smokes can be a bit difficult to find - most gas stations and grocery stores don't carry them and when they do they charge like $7.50 a pack, and even smoke shops don't often have them. I like to buy by the carton from here so I don't have to pay the ridiculous prices at places closer to my house, it saves me a lot of money on my would-be expensive habit. He kind of speaks basic english, but you can walk in there and tell him, The circumference of my cornhole is the size of a cantaloop, would you like to lick it? and he probaly wont be offended because he most likely wont understand what he's hearing. They had what looked to be Cuban Cohiba Esplendidos in the box sitting in their humidor out in the open for sale. Correct band (Habano Cuba), correct color. The foot of the cigar smelled like it could be real. I thought that it was odd that they would keep Cuban cigars for sale out in the open, but I had been in there a number of times before and they were obviously not very educated about cigars. They are not true tobacconists. Just shop owners. I asked the young guy at the counter how much and he said $20. I asked him if they were real or fake and he said he thought they were real. I told him I'd take one, but that the proof would be when I smoked it. Ive been smoking this brand for 23 years. I know the authentic Cohiba taste. It's very rich, chocolatey, with a black ash with white speckles. Very dense and long lasting smoke. Lots of smoke with each puff. When youve smoked Habano Cohibas you know what they taste, look, burn like. I took it home lit it up, and could tell immediately that it was fake. I smoked it anyway, but it was definitely a $2 dollar bundle cigar that had been given a perfect counterfeit band and had the right color. So I called up the shop and spoke to the young guy who sold it to me and told him that I was smoking it and it was definitely fake. He said to come in to the shop. A month later, when I had a few minutes and was in the area I stopped in. The young guy was not there, but the two older owners were, I believe one being his father. They wanted to know why I was asking for the young guy , so I told him what I just related. He became very confrontational and argumentative, demanding to know how I knew it was a counterfeit cuban cigar. I told him my experience and expertise. It became obvious that all he wanted to do was argue with me, and had zero desire to make right the bogus sale of a mis-represented cigar to me. He kept asking me over and over how I knew it was counterfeit, yelling at me with a scowl on his face. I walked out the door before anything stupid happened. He just wanted to fight about it and had zero interest in doing anything resembling the right thing. That makes him a thief, and not a very smart one either. I smoke cigars daily, and for $20 stolen from me, this moron has lost hundreds if not thousands on future revenue from me, if he had simply made an effort to right their wrong. Avoid this place. The owners are just common and stereo-typical eastern block/middle-eastern scammmers stealing from their customers. They WILL steal from you if they see the opportunity to. They will get no more opportunities from me. There are far too many other cigar sellers, many of whom are honest and honorable. read more
