Let me start off by saying I didn't quite know what to expect when we made reservations for dinner here. I'm going to split this review up by categories to make it easier. Service: We were seated immediately upon arriving at our set reservation time and the waiter promptly filled everyone's glasses with water. The waiter was very attentive and made sure our food arrived as ordered. Food: Some food was PHENOMENAL and other food was just plain bad. The ropa vieja tasted like childhood and was so dang good. My brother ordered the lechón with rice and beans and said it was fantastic. My sister in law ordered the fish ceviche and loved it. Everyone loved the pork belly and the pickled onions served with it. The tostones were typical tostones but were extremely greasy and the aioli they came with tasted like plain mayo. The croquetas de jamon y queso were 90% queso and the fig jam was odd but they were fine. They were also really small. The "smashed avocado" came with extremely greasy tortilla chips and two large chunks of avocado that wasn't smashed at all (as you can see in the pic) and those chunks were clearly parts of an unripe avocado because you couldn't even cut into it without struggling. Like it's literally called SMASHED avocado and they didn't smash it at all. The Moros that were served with my dad's masitas de puerco was similar to basmati rice and the flavor and texture were terrible - hard and dry rice. The arroz con pollo was just okay but the flavor was also odd and not typical for Cuban arroz con pollo. Atmosphere: It was EXTREMELY loud in there. I understand having a live band and enjoying the entertainment while eating dinner but it was so loud none of us could talk without literally screaming at each other. The only enjoyable part of the dinner was when the band took a break. Our Apple Watches gave us warnings about the loud noise exposure. I don't want to sound like I'm finding any and everything to complain about but it was genuinely so loud that even the waiter had to speak directly into our ears for us to communicate with him. Pricing: This place was very overpriced. We were a group of 6 adults and 1 kid and the bill came out to $340 (including only two beers ordered and including one of the meals being the kids meal chicken tenders). Paying $340 for a meal we couldn't even truly enjoy because of how unbearably loud it was seemed like a joke but it is what it is. Also, our table was to the front right of the restaurant by the windows. Despite being inside, all meal long we just smelled the cigar smell from those smoking right by the front door which is also .... Not ideal for those who don't enjoy that smell. TLDR Summary: Decent but expensive food, don't go if you want to actually converse with your group.

Our waiter Erick provides exceptional service from the beginning to end. Made sure we were taken care of the whole time. The food was amazing. The short ribs from the Miami spice menu comes with an amazing pure and the short rib just melts in your mouth. The environment was great as well with live music playing. The star of the show was definitely the bread pudding delicious. Just melts in your mouth and not over sweet which we all love. The ice cream and bread pudding goes perfect. Highly recommend for a birthday celebration or for a date night. Great place, food, drinks and service.

Service smooth, the restaurant wasn't full on a Sunday around 6pm. The pork I order was delicious. I don't like pork but this was very good I recommend it if you like pork. Ambiance was live music, although they were setting up when we arrived. I would try again

The food, music, the drinks and the ambiance were top notch. So happy we don't have to drive East to find a gem like this in West Kendall. Great job Michelle Bernstein!!!

Decided to try La Cañita after seeing it all over social media. Beautiful venue, great music, and delicious croquettes, but the $46 churrasco fell short. Unfortunately, the service ruined the experience. With only five tables taken, they messed up our drink order twice in a row, lacked attentiveness, and still charged for an untouched cocktail. Good food can't make up for bad service and repeated mistakes. Don't fall for the influencer hype--I won't be returning or recommending this place.

    Empty plate for reference.

Service was absolutely awful, we did not get served for 3 hours for them to then get the order completely wrong and/ or forget the food. I would not recommend coming here if this is the service that is being provided. Though the food did eventually come out, it was great. The restaurant itself was so loud we couldn't even hear the waitress. I lost my voice after we left due to how loud we had to speak to each other.

La Cañita in Kendall is exactly the kind of spot this area has been needing .. fun, lively, and full of energy. The vibe was amazing..the live music kept the place buzzing all night. The food was good but the apps were better and the drinks were strong. The only real downside was that some of the food came out cold, and we had to send it back, which was disappointing. I think my group honestly enjoyed the appetizers more than the actual entrées. I'd say this is the kind of place you go for drinks, small bites, and some dancing .. a fun night out without having to drive all the way to Brickell or Wynwood.

Uf! Where to begin! Came to celebrate father's day here and it did not disappoint. Excellent service, exceptional food and the mezcal drinks...oh my gosh. The live music and dancing was the cherry in top. Wish we had a place like this in San Diego. Truly, cross generational fun!

We went to La Canita celebrate our daughter's graduation. We've been here before enjoyed the food and live music. This time we ordered and the food came out one at a time. The last meal came when some had finished their meal. Very disappointed with the service. The food was good but the wait and no one came back to bring water to the table.

Honestly, we came in on a Friday night and the menu looked great online. We accidentally walked into a very high vibe which was awesome! There was live music and the band was great!! It does look like staff doesn't really know what they're doing, but maybe it's because I am in the hospitality industry myself. After asking the host how long the wait would be and standing there waiting for a response for maybe 10 minutes, she just walks us over to a table. I mean, very nice! But just not what I was expecting. We got one of the best seats in the house if you're looking to watch the live show! Now was for service, I get that it's a busy Friday night but it happened on not one, not two, but THREE times where the food runners went to the wrong table when dropping off the food. Our server was okay, not much can you do with such loud music, so I understand, but she was taking absolutely forever to bring us anything and even tried handing me a takeout box while holding three plates in her hand, and then look at me crazy when I don't know what she's trying to give me At some point the music was getting crazy feedback and I literally had to cover my ears. Overall? Not sure if I'll be coming back but the food was pretty good.

This Father's Day, we somehow ended up without kids. My husband wanted to hit his fav store- Dick's and grab something to eat. As we were heading to park we saw La Canita. They had a live band playing which was really nice. We found seating at the bar and were tended to promptly. it was a warm day so we had a couple of draft beers. To start we ordered the jamon Serrano Coqueta's. They came with a delicious fig sauce that really gave it a good taste. The other appetizer we had were the empanadas. They came out nice and hot and filled with beef. For our mains, my husband had the Ropa Vieja with black beans and rice. My husband is a Cuban who loves his black beans and these passed his test. I decided to have the roasted pork with yucca. The pork was absolutely delicious and I love the crispy Chicharrón. The serving sizes were huge. The music was great having the live band. We would definitely come back.

Took my parents here for dinner to celebrate their anniversary. I had been looking at other reviews and photos of this restaurant for weeks, and was so excited to try. I made reservations indicating we were celebrating an anniversary.  Flavia was GREAT! She helped answer menu questions, and made recommendations. There was an issue with my dish, and she was extremely apologetic and fixed the problem immediately. The ropa vieja was delicious and really flavorful. The maduros that came with it were perfection! We also had mojitos, tostones and the local snapper filet. The flan and bread pudding were also really good. What would have made this evening exceptional, was if there was some kind of acknowledgement on the dessert plates in celebration of my parents anniversary.   The music was lively but a bit loud. I can only imagine how loud it is when the live band starts playing. And the Christmas decor, which was very festive and sure to get you into the holiday spirit!

I checked out this new spot for happy hour with friends--such a fun vibe. The bartender was great, there was live music, and we even danced a little. It's from the same owners as Café La Trova, so you already know it's a good time. No food this time. But will definitely come back

The first bar we tried didn't work out (long story) and my husband mentioned having seen an interesting bar next to Pisco y Nazca where we had been a few times. So off we went. It was around 9:00 pm, and there was only like one other couple there. My understanding is it's more of a club vibe later so that's prob why. It is all outdoors with a bar across the back. It looked nice and was decorated for Christmas. We chose to stand at the bar instead of sitting at a table which seemed to have service. We ended up ordering a cocktail each (amaretto sour and mojito). There weren't any prices on the menu (except for the specialty cocktails which they were out of). Our total for the two drinks came to $42! So I paused and asked if the tip had already been added, and the bartender sort of mumbled something about "no", so I asked if the drinks were actually $20 each. (I mean, we're in Kendall, not South Beach!) So then he showed me the receipt that showed the drinks were $16.50 each and an auto grat of 20%+ had already been added. I did not add an additional tip on top of that. But the experience was in line with some of what I read here (afterwards) of them being a little scammy financially. I'd give it 1 star but the drinks were fine and I could see the vibe being fun once more people showed up.

Eddie's, established in the early 70s, feels more like a career criminal who found religion, just got out, and now swears he's trying to get his life together. Would a true dive keep a decades-old black-and-white tube TV around so you can watch your car? Additional amenities include an ATM, a combination photo booth/jukebox, and even a cell phone charging station, which means Eddie somehow supports bad decisions and the evidence they leave behind. This isn't Eddie's Bistro or Eddie's Café, it's just his Place, so don't show up expecting anyone to cook for you. Aside from chips, the bar skips food altogether. Still, Eddie's plays to its strengths: it encourages you to bring your own food or order in, as long as you keep the bartenders busy. "Cocktails" arrive in ribbed plastic cups, but shots and beer arrive in proper glassware, which is this bar's version of caviar service. A free pool table anchors the room, while one corner hosts beer pong and another area for old-timers to throw darts. Drinks run from $6 to $12, and Happy Hour sweetens the deal with 2-for-1 wells until 8 p.m. That special feels a little sad Monday through Wednesday, when the bar opens at 7 PM. However, it absolutely slaps Thursday through Sunday, when doors open at 2 PM. I rolled in after The Mandalorian & Grogu, which is exactly the kind of demoralizing movie that demands a drink. It was Goth Night, although the DJ seemed to be the only person who got the memo. She kept the room moving with dark house and classic goth tracks, giving the Place the energy of a house party with a fog machine and a hit-heavy playlist. Eventually, she veered from Bauhaus and Combichrist into Bruno Mars and Calvin Harris, which felt less like genre betrayal and more like a Wedding DJ loosening their tie. Eddie's Place delivers the holy trinity of a proper neighborhood bar: cheap booze, zero pretension, and just enough chaos to make you stay for one last round over and over again.
