The female owner immediately came to the entrance as soon as I walked in, which added to the pressure and awkward vibe. My mom actually comes from a very similar cultural and business background and has worked with many restaurant owners in that community through commercial restaurant sales. Based on her own experiences in the industry, I became uncomfortable with what she described what possibly would be going on and that made me uneasy as well. The café itself also felt a bit cluttered and not as clean as I expected, especially for a newer business. The restrooms were another letdown. I accidentally walked in on someone because the bathroom doors don't automatically lock behind you. There are signs reminding customers to lock the door, but it's easy to see how people would assume it since you have to use a code to enter. But because there's a code you have to use a second lock to manually lock the doors. The only reason I'm giving it two stars instead of one is because they're open late, which is convenient since most other tea and dessert shops are closed by then. Unfortunately, the quality of the drinks, desserts, and overall experience would not warrant need to come back. Only the reason we did was because nothing else is open late.
