One of the earlier spots in the area that helped put this cuisine on the map locally, and it's held its ground over time. Is it the absolute best pho you'll ever have? No. Are there newer spots that might edge it out? Sure. But that's not really the point here. What Saigon Café does well is consistency. The food tastes the same every time, the menu has plenty of options for everyone, and it's reliably quick -- usually 10-15 minutes and you're good to go. That alone makes it an easy go-to for families. Staff has always been friendly, and the place stays busy, which says a lot. You know exactly what you're getting every visit, and sometimes that matters more than chasing the "best." This fall I have ordered three times from this place, and all three to-go meals were all very enjoyable. I am not good with the Vietnamese or other Asian names, but so far I have tried the pork vermicelli plate, the Tom Kha soup (once with chicken and once with seafood), the shrimp and pork spring rolls (Goi Cuon), and the fried veggie spring rolls (Cha Gio Chay). I have also tried the Vietnamese Iced Coffee. All of the items are consistently prepared well and fresh to order from what I have seen. I really like the variety of items on their menu here. Some other places I have been to that do Asian fusion type menus usually are stronger in one cuisine over the other, but I have not seen that yet here. I am interested to see what some of their curries are like and plan on trying them in the future. The seafood Tom Kha had lots of different seafood in it for the price paid. I have had Vietnamese pork plates from more than one place recently, but I think this is my favorite place in the area so far. It was good with the vermicelli, but I think I enjoyed it best with the jasmine rice that they accidentally gave the first time I ordered from here. All of the food was well portioned and reasonably priced compared to some of the competitors in the area. I would definitely recommend this place for lunch. The Vietnamese Iced Coffee was also very good in that it was not overly sweet nor was it bitter. It was strong enough for a pick-me-up, but also creamy as I like it. I can't believe I've never written a review for this place. I've been going here for 8+ years and this place has stayed consistent throughout. They're the only place I get pho from and I know I won't be going anywhere else anytime soon. Service is always on point. I love that you can tell the staff are all close and it feels really homey being there. They don't skimp out on protein portions and food comes out pretty fast. Food was good but not great. I had their version of Thai Basil Chicken. I asked for an egg on top and it was overcooked for the dish and an extra $3.50. Ingredient quality was ok but they are charging premium prices. The chicken was white meat and not dark and the pieces were more than bite sized. In the bowl I struggled to get an angle on it to cut it. Only had a fork and spoon. Service was fine. No complaints. I ate in the restaurant. They kept my drink full. There is some effort to make the place not feel like a fast food take out but with mixed results. 3.5 stars is what they deserve but I rounded up. read more

I ordered the Bourbon Chicken meal for lunch today, and while I was surprised at how fast it came out, I quickly realized why. The portion was pitiful, barely any chicken tossed on top of a sad pile of wilted lettuce. And to make matters worse, the chicken was clearly old and reheated. This was an incredibly disappointing meal. Don't waste your time or your money here, there are plenty of other places in the area that actually care about quality and portion size. This restaurant is a disgrace to anyone who works hard for their money. Honestly, it deserves to go out of business if this is the kind of "food" they think is acceptable to serve. Saigon Cafe is my family's go-to for pho ever since we moved to the Suwanee area. I personally don't think it's the best pho place but it does serve good pho so I don't mind eating here. It's not much different from your typical pho place -- you have your wide selection of Vietnamese cuisine but of course I wanted pho. I usually get pho with eye round steak, fatty brisket and lean brisket. This time, I opted for without the lean brisket. I ordered the small size which was around $11. Warning when they say small, the pho is actually REALLY small. The amount of meat, the amount of noodles and the amount of soup - it truly is small and it's really more of a kid's option. You should definitely get the Large or XLarge for an adult portion. I wasn't that hungry to begin with so I was okay with a Small -- The good thing about pho is that it comes out QUICK. Our food came out within 5-10 minutes of ordering which was nice. Pho broth is on the cleaner side and delivers excellent flavors. Again, because I ordered a small the meat portion was a little sad but it was a perfect light meal! I definitely come here often and I plan on returning again when I'm hungry -- then I'll order a Large :-) read more

Good food and service. Our daughter loves pho so we checked this place out and were pleasantly surprised by how good the food was. The chicken skewers were especially good - both my daughter and I enjoyed them very much. The broth for the pho was a bit watery & salty for my liking but the noodle & meat portions were excellent. Came here last year when visiting Georgia and when my parents asked what I wanted to eat I definitely chose this place again! The broth of the pho is unrivaled and always delicious. My knights and I were hangry after working an event downtown and wanted something to eat closer to the Castle. It was a cold and rainy day, and one of them mentioned Pho. Perfect! My first and only experience with Pho was last New Years Eve at my buddy's place. His wife made Pho for all of us, and it was amazing! So I was elated to try it again. This place sits in the Publix shopping center off Old Norcross Rd up 85. I've heard of it before and knew it was a popular spot. Walking in, the place was cold as ice. We found out their HVAC was broken, but we all joked it was bc they wanted to make you crave that hot Pho very badly. Nothing fancy about this place at all. In fact, I've seen nicer McDonalds. Not a place to hit for atmosphere. We all ordered 3 large bowls of Pho Tai. It took them no time to bring out, and they were massive! They also bring you a very large side of sprouts, jalapeño slices, cilantro, limes and basil. On the table are plenty of spice options. I made the mistake of making mine very spicy. My usual is a meatball pho with spring rolls for appetizers. It comes out so fast and always tastes spot on. I went here with my friend one day so we could get a quick bite to eat. She told me she goes here often for their pho so I was excited to try the restaurant. I'm personally more of a ramen person than pho, so I decided to get something different than pho. I'll definitely be visiting here again to try their pho seeing as how it's close to my place of employment. Upon first entering the restaurant, it was a small place with maybe about 4 booths, 4 "picnic" tables, and other tables and chairs closer to the back. We ended up sitting in the first booth and looked at the menu. They had a lot of dishes to choose from and my friend already knew what she wanted so it took me a while to decide. I went back and forth with whether I wanted to try the pho but I settled on the shrimp fried rice because I figured you couldn't go wrong with that. Our food came out rather fast, I would say within about 5 minutes of us ordering. The rice itself was tasty but the texture of the shrimp was weird to me. It was soft instead of having a chewy texture that I'm used to. However they did give us a lot of food and I ended up having to get a to go box.
