The food was pretty good. Nothing out of this world but well flavored and very filling. The service was decent kind of slow. We ordered chicharrón de pollo en ajillo (fried chicken in garlic sauce) which came with rice and beans & some pupusas. Chicharrón de Pollo en Ajillo: well cooked chicken & the sauce was very tasty. Was delicious with the rice & the sauce was great for dunking the pupusas. The serving was pretty big came with a lot of chicken so I was able to share it with my boyfriend. Very fresh & affordable. Pupusas: we ordered pupusas with fried pork & some with cheese. The pork was alright not really what I expected. The meat is mushy kind of like beef patty meat texture, but they were still pretty good. The cheese ones definitely were a winner. Very fresh and flavorful and cheesy. Tastes even better with the garlic sauce from the chicken. Price: for all you see on the table plus 2 waters it only cost $22 (including tip). So we will definitely be returning! read more

We came sometimes to eat here but the service is very slow and terrible the food is no really good but is the only Salvadoran restaurant near to my house, they need better services for the costumers because the waitress they are really rude and inefficient.. La Cabana 2 Salvadorena Restaurant is simply really awesome. It's a fun atmosphere to be in, and the menu and service is pretty great. Most everything I've tried until now have been pretty great. The staff was attentive, quick, and really friendly. Definitely go give it a try. read more

I introduced this places to my boyfriend 4 years ago and we been going ever since. Tonight he went to buy some takeout pupusas for dinner and came home very disappointed. The minute he walked into they the restaurant everyone looked at him like if he was an alien. The servers that were there ignored him for awhile. They took a really long time to take his order and to give him his change. We are not Salvadorian, but we shouldn't feel like we have to be to buy from this restaurant. Pupusa....ahhh..melty, cheesy, goodness in a crisp corn pancake. ...yummy! My favorite is, reveulta, a mix of pork and cheese. Two pupusas and one sweet corn tamale for dessert....mmmmm, cheap delicious lunch or dinner. Yes, its a dive bar on a sketchy corner, with surly service and music that is way too loud! Yet, I still come back weekly for Plato tipicos....pupusa, tamale, well flavored, thin sliced steak and salsa. They also have a beef soup made with delicious short ribs. I haven't been able to break away from my favorites to try the seafood soup, it does look good. Dont drink the water...lol...they have a filter or something that makes it taste strange. I come here one a week! I love this place and their food. I have tried pupusas all over Westchester , NJ and the Bronx but this has to be my favorite place. Their pupusas revueltas are so delicious that I find it hard not to eat 8 of them in one seating. I was introduced to Salvadorian food by my ex and I just love it. Everything is made fresh, so be ready to wait a few minutes. Their tamales de elote con crema are among the best, if not the best I have ever tasted. The space is very clean and spacious, but the only thing that I wish would get better is for the waitresses to be a bit friendlier. Every time someone that is not from Central or South America steps in, they tend to make you feel out of place and as if you didn't belong there. LOVE this place, what a diamond in the ruff. They make their pupusas fresh, if you still in the back you can watch the woman make them by hand. Food is incredibly delicious, I had a bean and a pork and cheese pupusa as well as the beef stew which was so excellent, the meat was perfectly cooked. The restaurant has a very causal vibe and is very authentic, lots of locals. Also the food is SO cheap for so much! Highly recommend and will definitely be back. read more

Best pupusas in the Bronx. They take a long making them, especially when it's a full house but they are worth the wait. Good family restaurant on weekdays. I wouldn't recommend going on weekends since there's a lot of drunk guys at the bar & waitresses don't really pay attention to their family tables. I will never go back to this place after I got a cockroach in my food. I am sure I am not the only one. The owner still charge me for food that did not even eat. The area has VERY little parking and is sketchy. When I entered the restaurant it was very dark. Two waitresses sat at the far end of the bar doing something and there were patrons scattered throughout the available seating (Not busy at all). I asked (loudly since they were pretty far and did not walk over) for a menu and both women stared at me. I already was disappointed. I orderd 6 pupusas de revueltas (mixed with cheese and chicharrones) and one tamal de elote ( a tamal made of sweet ground corn-dessert) to share with my toddler, hubby and I to go. It came to 13 dollars which is a decent price. We took our food home (took about 20 minutes) and tried it out. The inside of the pupusas (filling) was delicious and very flavorful. However, they were thin and had a lot of masa. The tamal was yummy and I wih I ordered another one. Overall, would I go back for the pupusas? Probably not. If I was around the area and wanted something sweet I would get the tamal de elote. read more
