I went to this restaurant pre pandemic and food and atmosphere was always great. I took my daughter and grandkids here today June 25, 3026 and was surprised the place was nearly empty but I now see why . I order a $21.00 chicken burrito . What I received was a huge scoop of refried beans , tiny pieces of chicken that you couldn't even taste, nor feel, due to all the refried beans, wrapped up in a soggy tortilla. and on a plate with more refried beans and very plain/tasteless Mexican rice. I voiced my complaint to the head waiter who told me that's just the way it is. Never offered to change it out. I then opened up my burrito , took the soggy tortilla off , and attempted to it as is. It was like eating a load of canned refried beans. Not acceptable by any measure. I asked the waiter if I could please get a different dish. He argued with me, said no one else has ever complained about the burrito before. I showed him my plate with the burrito opened up. I showed him the soggy tortilla, the filling the consisted of almost all refried beans, and the tiny pieces of chicken. He continued to argue with me. He finally said he'd go talk to his boss, then came back and said, ok what do you want I asked him for the menu, chose a tostada to go which was less expensive, and I still got charged for the more expensive burrito I didn't touch. My daughter ordered a child's plate with a cheese enchilada to share between her 2 children. The only thing they touched was a little bit of the beans. They didn't like the rice (they normally like rice) and spit out their first bite of their enchilada and both proclaimed they didn't like it. (They normally like that as well. I tasted it to see if it was the enchilada that was the problem or the kids were just being fussy. It was the enchilada. Tasted like a soggy tortilla with red sauce poured on it. After having such a difficult time changing mine out I just paid for theirs and said nothing about it. My daughter ordered chicken taquitos which she said were ok but store bought would have been just as good Never again will I be back. Sad, because I used to really like this place. Home-made food is starting to surpass restaurant food by far now, especially for the prices they are charging. It used to be a treat to eat out. Not so much now.

A delicious dessert makes any meal complete. The Fried Iceream they serve is a perfect example. After a fine dining experience, trust you can order this and truly have an incredible meal. Enjoy.

This place is so delicious! So glad we stopped here- food authentic! Our waiter Javier was super sweet! Very helpful with recommendations on entres. This place is very clean! Every single employee seemed happy and so friendly! They don't rush you out! Felt like I was eating at a families home. Thank you ! I will be back when in town!! Oh and that Cadillac margarita- whew! I didn't get many photos of this place, but I should have. I dropped by for lunch with some friends and it was really good. Unfortunately, I hadn't seen the friends for some time and we got to talking, and you can probably guess what happened. The service was great. I had the chili verde burrito. It was good sized and filling. The pork was tender and the sauce flavorful, but not overly hot. They bring 4 types of complementary salsa of different spice levels. All were excellent. It's a comfortable atmosphere. They have a large patio. It was a little warm, so we ate inside. They bus the tables promptly. A very nice, clean restaurant.

Wow I have eaten authentic Mexican food in Rosarito Beach at very high end restaurants there. So I found this restaurant as good if not better quality than any other restaurant in Mexico. It was very welcoming very attentive people and servers Food was EXCELLENT delicious chicken rice and beans on special for $17.95 large portion too. If your on the 14 highway stop in and have some of the best food north of the border I promise you won't be disappointed

Stopped after visiting some friends in the area we decided to grab some lunch. Seated quickly, ordered some margaritas, and munched on yummy salsa and chips. For entrees we got the nachos and beef taco/ cheese enchilada plate. Everything was tasty, margaritas were refreshing and service was great. A nice spot in Acton serving great Mexican food.

We love trying New Mexican food spots. They serve good portions and the flavor was good. You get bean dip and chips as soon as you are seated. Good flavor on the bean dip, May have some chorizo in it. My boyfriend got a chimichanga with chicken and I got a #9, taco and tamale combo plate with rice and beans. Beans were really good, I liked my crunchy taco. The tamale was quite dry though, not my favorite. I actually really loved the Italian dressing, which might be house made and it had bay leaves in it. Our waiter was quick and attentive, the interior decor is traditional Mexican and cozy. It's really big, there's like 2 outdoor patios as well.

Stopped here on our way back to vegas and was happy we did. The chips and salsa and bean dip were so delicious. Service was fast and efficient. Hubby got the quesadillas and said it was good- I had the four tacos and they were delicious. The decor reminds me of macayos (vegas girl) so was homey and comfortable. The inside was clean as was the bathrooms. Was worth the stop and may become a regular stop when we go to Cali. read more

After a long drive from Arizona and parking our RV for the night, we headed into town to grab some grub for a late lunch/early dinner. We stumbled upon La Cabana Restaurant, a Mexican joint that seemed pretty typical but had some interesting dishes to try. When we walked in, the staff greeted us with big smiles and quickly showed us to our seats. They took our drink orders and gave us some time to check out the menu. They had a simple menu for kids that our little ones were happy with. While we were deciding what to order, the staff brought us free chips with a spicy salsa, a mild one for the kids, and this unexpected but amazing cheese and bean dip. We loved the dip so much that we asked for extra bowls to enjoy before, during, and after our meal. Besides the kids' meals, we ordered the Enchiladas Rancheras, Chicken Caesar Salad, and Camarones La Cabana. My wife got the enchiladas and she devoured them. They were packed with flavor and she couldn't find a single thing to complain about. Our 10-year-old went for the chicken Caesar salad, which came in a crispy taco bowl with fresh lettuce, grilled chicken, and Caesar dressing on the side. The chicken was the highlight--marinated and grilled to perfection, giving the classic salad a tasty Latin twist. Before my meal arrived, I started off with their albondigas soup, which was warm and comforting. If it were colder out, I would've been content ordering just a whole bowl of it. For my main course, I went for the camarones (shrimp) and was pleasantly surprised! Usually, when something is "bacon-wrapped," it's just for show and doesn't add much to the dish. But this was different. The bacon was cooked crispy and wrapped around the shrimp, without overpowering it. Each bite was a delight, especially with the rice and corn that came with it. The portions were generous, so I took the rest home and it was still just as satisfying. The whole family left La Cabana Restaurant happy and full. It was a great find, introducing us to unique dishes and exciting new flavors--a real treat after a long and tiring day. read more

This is a great local spot in Acton, CA. Their meals are consistent, the service personalities are always attentive, most of all -- the albondigas soup is amazing. Great vibe with indoor or outdoor seating. Can even ride horses up to the location! read more

We eat here at least 2 times a month for dinner. The staff are so friendly, really great people. They are so personable, all seem to love their jobs and even know what I like to order. The food is so good- I usually get a burrito or tacos and a side salad. The portions are big and I always have left overs. We like to sit in the bar area to watch the current sports on the multiple tvs. Warm and friendly atmosphere. Always find parking. read more

Headed to Lake Isabella and stopped by for lunch. This place is great. They have parking for pickups/trailers. Service was on point, and food had large portions and tasted amazing. I left satisfied. Will stop by again next time I'm out this way. read more

After a lovely walk at Vásquez rocks my friends and si decided to try this place out. I have always driven by it and always found it so cute and out of the ordinary. I love the lights and little garden which makes outdoor sitting so tranquil. Their frijolitos puercos are to die for. Their plates are pretty big and so delicious. I hade their beef taquitos with beans and the guacamole was freshly made. The server was so helpful and polite. They were also on it and we got our food at a decent time. This is definitely a place I will be coming back to. read more

We passed by this restaurant while camping in the area. Saw their Yelp reviews and decided to give them a try. They did not disappoint! We ordered take out and it was ready on time. My family and I love La Cabaña! Good chips and salsa and bean dip. Not to mention all the other salsas they offer, ask about em'! Some of my favorite dishes are the machaca, shrimp tacos, tostada chica, carnitas tacos and my husband always gets the chimichanga with asada. The micheladas are wonderful. I can't go a week without stopping by for a miche and chips and salsa. The service is great, could not recommend this place enough. read more

The most surprising part of this restaurant is the service, impeccable. Everyone works as a team and they are all concerned with your enjoyment. The food is typical small town Mexican, heavy with cheese and nostalgia, just wonderful. I have been truly surprised to find excellent chips on every visit, no matter the time. We went here last Sunday, November 28th..., n in all honesty the experience totally sucked!!! We were kinda greeted when we walked in... seated anywhere we wanted n left with menus that were blurry to read... I thought my vision got worse or something but it was the menu print for sure than it took forever for our waiter to show up at our table to take our order... it was probably over n hour since we sat down n we've only seen our waiter 3 times but by the forth time we had to ask someone else to get our waiter to ask for the check n boxes. About the food... terrible!!! Large portions with NO flavor including the appetizer combo plater... money NOT well spent here... we won't be back for sure! read more

We've been going out of our way to La Cabana for years now. Consistently, the food and service are wonderful. Great fresh salsa and hot fresh made chips... always. I'm a Chile relleno fan, and live theirs, good big chilies, not too much batter, plenty of tasty sauce. Their beans are so flavorful and creamy even my husband loves them. It's our date night and we're retired so we appreciate good value as well. We often split a meal and have never felt guilty, because all of our servers handed always acted happy to see us and anyone else they greet. Great people, great food and a lovely drive out of town. It's a destination! :) read more

Great, relaxed atmosphere frequented by a lot of locals. One of those "Cheers" "where everybody knows your name" kind of place. The food is fantastic, priced reasonably and usually there's a ton of parking space behind the restaurant. Definitely recommend the margaritas on game nights. read more

The Jalapeño has a nice, warm piquancy while the Cheddar gives a dairy fermented undertone. The julienned red and green bellpeppers are pleasantly al dente; the onions are caramelized to bring out their sweetness. It's all sautéed in an agrodolce/sweet-sour sauce along with a touch of garlic. 1a) Side dish: Nice little garden salad including green lettuce, diced purple onion, chopped tomato, grated carrot. Chose blue cheese dressing to use for the "Buffalo Burger". 2) "Buffalo Burger" is extra finely ground, plush, velvety Bison meat. So when I ordered it medium rare, the patty turned out mushy. Next time, I will order it medium to firm up and give more of a chaw to the meat. Opted for two slices of not too crispy, meaty bacon. Mayo, tomato, green lettuce leaf, grilled onions, cheddar cheese, dense brioche bun. I spread on the blue cheese dressing to give a little funk to what I thought would be the blood minerality of the Bison meat. It's another substantial dish. 2a) Side dish of standard French fries which was crisp as requested although it didn't quite have that ineffable earthy, mildly sweet, potato flavour 1-2a) Allegiance India Pale Ale, Lancaster CA was a good counter to both food items. Dry, heavy bodied, fruity with scents of orange zest, lacquer, touch of cleansing acidity. 49'er doesn't leave you hungry so didn't have enough room for dessert. We came at opening and the restaurant got really busy during our time there. Initially we were looking at the sandwiches because it was lunch time, but then we were going to a wedding that night so we decided to eat something more filling since the ceremony and speeches always delay the eating. All entrees here are served with black beans and rice or congri, and 3 fried plantains. My boyfriend had the Ropa Vieja ($28) with the congri and I had the Lechon Asado ($25) with the rice and beans. Our food came out pretty fast after we ordered. My boyfriend's Ropa Vieja is a Cuban braised beef. The congri is basically a mix of the rice and beans. This dish was super tasty and the shredded beef was so tender with the bell peppers and onions. I can really taste the red wine and tomato sauce in the base. I took a few bites but in general I preferred my dish more, and vis versa he enjoyed his dish more. My lechon asado is a roasted pork that is super super tenderrrrrr. It was so sweet with the grilled onions and it had the perfect amount of fattiness without being over bearing. SO GOOD! Love the plaintains too. I'm glad I got the rice and beans option because I would have gotten too full too quick with the congri. I barely touched my beans and only got through half of my rice. Both dishes came with this super tasty garlic butter sauce that I poured on my rice and made it even tastier. It was so good. One thing I didn't enjoy about the experience was the flies attacking us and our food. Since the door is open and connected to their outdoor space, it leaves the opportunities for flies to come in. We had to play defense with the flies the whole time. The service here is a little slow. Especially when I was trying to get back on the road I wasn't feeling too patient. I waived down multiple staff members too. Also I got hit with an undisclosed 3% surcharge for using my credit card. I only found out after I got the receipt. I would have paid in cash if I knew. *dislike* LOVE LOVE LOVE the food. Might be the best Cuban food I've ever had... and I've been to Florida where there was a lot of Cuban spots. Decided to try this place for Mother's Day. Surprised it wasn't busy at all. The service was awful! Had to ask for everything. Excuse me sir..... Can I have silverware?...:...can I get some more water?........can someone find our waiter so we can get the check?.......have you seen our waiter? .......Any chance we can get some more salsa? After waiting for him to come pick our payment for almost 10 minutes we decided to dig through our wallets to come up with exact change so we didn't need to wait anymore (yeah that's right we didn't even leave a tip). As we are leaving the restaurant we see our waiter sitting in the bar watching TV. Maybe if the food had been good we would consider trying it again and hope for a better waiter. But the food was salty and overall just OK. We will not be back. What a bummer of a Mother's Day. read more

I've been here twice, and both times the staff were friendly, the food was good, and prices were reasonable. There is a nice bar area when you walk inside. Plus a dining area with comfortable booths to the left. They also have an outdoor covered patio area at the back of the restaurant that I'd like to try next time. Good parking spaces on site. The staff have been friendly and welcoming, even when we brought the 18 month old twins in tow. We've also ordered takeout, which has also been a good experience. I keep going back and forth, is this a five star restaurant or what ? In the end I will have to say it is not the fanciest place, best ambiance, etc. What they do have is a solid offering of real authentic Mexican food that seemed to be all prepared with quality fresh ingredients. So do not come here if you are looking for a beautiful place, come here if you are looking for excellent food and fantastic prices, their service deserved 5 stars as well. read more

La Cabana is really out in the middle of nowhere but if you so happen to be making a trip, it worth the stop. The portion size is very good and the staff is very quaint. If you are not dining alone, I would recommend splitting a main dish and getting a few sides. The plates are really huge and if you are like me, a doggy bag isn't what you want in your car for the next 2 hours. read more

The food is good, the staff is friendly, and YOU CAN RIDE YOUR HORSE UP TO THE HITCHING POSTS AND NOT WORRY ABOUT HOW MANY MARGARITAS YOU HAVE! Your pony will get you home.
