Visited La Cantina last night. The food was great. The service was excellent. The place was packed. One thing you may want to consider is the weight. There is a little weight for your food after you order but if you don't mind this, this is a great place to eat. I will definitely be going back. Also, the portions were very generous. Stopped for lunch to try this place out. Greeted by Oscar at the door. He sat us snd was also our server. After a little conversation we found out he is the owner of the restaurant! Food is great! I had a raspberry margarita and it was the "mata" which I recommend made from fresh juices and a step up from the house. They have a stage so I'm assuming there may be live music on certain days. We just moved to Gaffney and had saw the sign from the road so we decided to give this place a try. We came in for lunch on a Monday afternoon. The restaurant was beautiful, clean and very welcoming. The gentleman at the bar probably greeted us, seated us and asked if it was our first time. He got us chips and salsa and told us KayLee would be with us shortly. Everything was great. Food was excellent not overly salted. My husband had the ground beef tacos and he said they were amazing. Probably some of the best salsa I've had around. To no fault of the servers, but guacamole could've been a little bit better. Let's be honest, customer service is $hit nowadays, but Kaylee had such an amazing aura, wonderful customer service and we always had everything we needed! Third visit to La Cantina, I like my choice of food more this time. I got three street tacos (Grilled Chicken, Steak, and Pastor) on corn tortillas. I liked the Pastor taco best, steak was tough but not bad, did not like the grilled chicken the meat was tough to eat. (Shredded chicken on last visit was better) Spouse got Chicken Soup he wasn't too hungry he enjoyed it ate all of the soup part wasn't as big of a fan of the rice in the soup but he would eat it all if he had been more hungry. Also got a Paloma Rosa last visit was better this time not much flavor could've been an off day I wouldn't hold it too then the last time I had this drink it was perfect! Atmosphere is great, place is very clean and decor is nice. Salsa bar is my favorite but wish there were spicy options salsa wise. I think mango habanero was the spiciest one I tried could be mistaking name. Wish there were slightly larger cups to put the salsa in. Service was great as well! read more

Be warned! Creepy staff member that made a female friend uncomfortable!! This was my first and last time attending this restaurant. I was recommended by some friends who had loved the food in the past. We were a party of 5- with 1 male friend that is engaged to another female friend of mine. As we sat down, it was clear that our waiter, JaRon R., was on an unknown substance- he had dilated pupils, random incoherent mumbling at times, inability to take orders or remember orders, and fumbling with items. He would answer with "okay" (without writing down anything at times) and not bring multiple items until repeatedly asked, primarily to our only male friend that ordered. But the worst part of the night was a friend who was getting constantly asked for her number and personal information. It began as menial conversation on her tattoos to constantly asking for her instagram and phone number-stating he just moved here recently to stating he was an online member of the college we attend- of which he ONLY mentioned AFTER this friend stated which college we attend. He was also unable to recall any classes he is taking or has taken. Progressively throughout the night, it resulted in him standing directly in front of her for nearly 5 minutes at a time (nearly 5 times over the course of an hour)- asking her various questions and finishing off with- can I have your instagram and number. After the multitude of asking and him pulling out his phone, she gave him her instagram. But after he mentioned her instagram is "only puppy pictures", he asked for her number again (5th+ time). At this point we truly become nervous considering he was getting direct and persistent. She politely declined to give her number. And to top off the night, he did not give our checks at our table in a timely manner (nearly 10-15 minutes after finishing eating and with our to-go orders) so we headed to the front. Mind you, this is near closing time where we were 1 of 3 groups total in the entire restaurant. He then proceeds to charge me the wrong bill and does not offer a fix or ask another coworker. We ended up having to sort that individually amongst ourselves. And nearly immediately after my friend left the establishment, he private messaged her on instagram. I was also informed after we left that he attempted to follow my friend to the restroom until he realized she was not alone- and TURNED back. I highly recommend you skip this place if you have female friends until this coworker leaves or his employment gets re-evaluated. There were multiple times during the night where we as a collective did not feel our friend was safe alone. If you see JaRon R., please do NOT give him any personal information or let your female friends be alone around him. I truly want to reiterate, this server was not only unable to perform basic duties due to being most likely under the influence but also acting unsavory and creepy to a friend. read more

We sat at the bar and the service was really good. I ordered the Carnitas plate. It came out. It was super dry like a piece of wood. Sent it back and got another plate which was still super dry and I think the soles of my shoes were more moist. I would recommend the taco shrimp salad that my wife had but not the Carnitas ever. read more
