The chicken fajitas are out of this world here!!! There are three other Mexican restaurants in the area, but the staff is friendlier here. The food is more affordable and the atmosphere gives off a fun Mexican vibe. I like the fact that this Mexican place is open later than the others. This is convenient for when I work late. Fabulous chips and fresh guacamole made at the table. The chips are hot and thin and obviously homemade and so good. I had the lunch chimichanga and it was nicely seasoned and fresh. Service was patient with my toddler so I am thankful. Would definitely come back when I'm in the area. read more

This was the second time we have gone to this place to eat after having a good experience a few months prior. Tonight's experience was probably one of the worst I have ever experienced from any restaurant that expects return customers. The waiter dumps an entire drink on my wife and other than a "Sorry" we were left with her in a soaked shirt and jeans while we had waited for our food to arrive. The staff of about 4 people were more concerned about cleaning up their mess, that they gave gazes toward her that were so accusational as if she spilled the drink on herself. No management came by to give any sort of apologetic experience, or were we offered any sort of discount for having her sit damp as we do not just carry around dry clothing. HORRID customer service. From that point on, we were just given drink refills, and never once asked how we were enjoying our meal (or if it even tasted good). Now on to the food, it was very bland and for $10 a plate, I had expected better. The chicken was moist, but lacked flavor of any sort, the chile relleno's cheese tasted like it came from a can. I felt that this meal would have been in more on par for a $6 plate when compared to other places I have gone to, that actually tasted good. Their quesadilla seemed to have had the same cheese inside of it, just baked differently, it felt thick and stiff and overall just unappealing to eat. For the others that had come with us, their meals seemed to be average, but it isn't like I tasted everything. I would recommend another place if you are after good customer service, better food, and reasonably priced meals. I don't know if they even had a dessert menu as when it looked like we were finishing up, they just gave us bills and we only saw a server one more time to collect the bill. Some of the group may go back to this place, but I will probably avoid it for a few more months before I give it a whirl again. read more

Pretty good little Mexican joint. After reading the only other review I have to say that was probably a low rating due to an accident and one bad server. I will say our server took a few minutes to come take our food order but the food came so quickly we were caught off guard! Prices are very reasonable and portion sizes are great. I got the combo including one taco one enchilada and one chille relleno. Most chille's I've had were stuffed with meat and cheese, sometimes rice, I was bummed to find this one only stuffed with cheese but I'd be lying to say it wasn't one of the best I've ever had! Now this place is not authentic Mexican as much as it is Americanized-Mexican place but let's be honest most Mexican restaurants are these days because we Americans get cranky and pitch a fit if its not our way...'merica! Better than their closest competitor in town called Domingo's. Excellent prices. LA Favorita is my favorite thing on the menu (go figure ). It's a lot of food so I always have a take-away that's just as good reheated for dinner. Their salsa is too mild so I get some spicy on the side. Great service. Generous with the drink refills. Comfortable booths. Good air conditioning and plenty of fans. Nice Mexican music station. Clean. I recommend them for any time of day. read more

Thought I'd give them a try. I ordered a taco salad with grilled shrimp. Though I was very happy with the salad, I was disappointed to find old dried shrimp I only found 4. For almost $13.00, I was sad and disappointed. In this time of the virus they should have taken the time to grill me some fresh shrimp. I shouldn't have had to tell them that I wanted fresh shrimp. They choose whom they want to give fresh chips to. We received chips they recycled from previous customers. Food has no taste to it, they don't use pepper, garlic, or anything from a spice rack. They don't even use lemon or lime in the cooking process. Plus we had 3 different waiters during the one visit. Our first waiter kept rolling his eyes at us as we ordered our food. Ambiance is good and the food is some of the better Mexican food around. The salsa is great and so are the enchiladas verde with chicken. The chips are awful. They always taste burned...not sure if they leave them in the oil too long or if the oil is old and never changed out. The fajitas are just okay. The staff is not very friendly...including the manager who was down right rude when we had a problem with our to go order. This is... No exaggeration... the best Mexican food I have ever eaten aside from when we went to Mexico. It is perfectly spiced, beautifully prepared and just delicious. I was a patient in Davie Medical Center for 2 nights and unfortunately their gluten free options were severely limited. Well anyone who is gluten free knows Mexican is a perfect option because corn tortillas are naturally gluten free. So my husband got take out and brought it over to me. The chef was able to pull together a delicious combination plate for me with all of my favorite items, just substituting corn tortillas for the flour ones. The food was so delicious, we did it 2 days in a row. Also the portions are so generous we had leftovers! And my awesome nurse put everything in their refrigerator, and then just warmed it up for me for lunch on the last afternoon. read more

Worst experience yet. My wife and I usually have a great experience at this restaurant. We have been going there since it opened fairly regularly and supported our local restaurant...not anymore. Last night was horrible. I went to the manager with concerns of dirty salsa bowls which took literally 10 minutes to get replaced. It took forever to get the food that we ordered to the table. My wife got her order with chicken instead of beef which was what she ordered. The food was tasteless. My chicken had the consistency of being boiled. The manager who seemed not to care just acted like "oh well". Not sure he comprehended what I was saying. He obviously didn't care about our concerns. And to top it all off we received the wrong bill with another bill. 2 bills showing different prices. The assistant manager made good on the issues when I presented him with the bills and what happened with our dining experience. I believe in telling someone when there is a service failure so it can be corrected but the manager didn't care. I will drive 22 miles to Pacho Vilas in Winston-salem before I will go back. read more

Sad to read other bad reviews. I've NEVER gotten a bad or even remotely mediocre meal here. Perhaps since my wife and I are local and we kind of know the faces of the staff we get great service. That being said we love the food. The tableside guacamole is truly the best since you can tweek it to individual taste. The outside patio in good weather is great as well. Maybe it isn't as refined as some other "authentic" Mexican restaurants but it still feels like it was prepared with love. The burrito San Jose (other places call it a California burrito) is a hoss! The food wasn't bad, though it wasn't the best we've had by far. The service, however, was appalling. We came around 4, so the place was empty except for one other table. The restaurant is huge yet the host chose to seat us right next to the only other table in the place. Our server was generally disinterested and clearly didn't want to be working. When he brought our food, he spilled hot oil from one of the plates on my husband's lap. When my husband pointed out that the server had spilled it, all the guy said was, "Oh, I didn't see." Our waiter waited 20+ minutes before taking our first order, then when we went inside to ask him to come and take our food order (after another 20 minutes), he made us wait even longer. Then subsequent visits by the waiter and manager were far and in between. The manager made excuses, the waiter made excuses.... The food was cold, and no one apologized once for the total lack of service. If a restaurant doesn't provide decent service, nothing else really matters. I can make good food at home. read more
