I finally had a chance to give this place a try, and I'm glad I did. I had seen photos of several items that I wanted to try - Southwestern Egg Rolls, Brussels Sprouts, Cauliflower Bites - maybe the pizza next time! Ordered all three items to share, and each one was a good choice. The Brussels Sprouts were perfectly cooked, not with the outer leaves burnt like you often see! The SW Egg Rolls were nice, but not quite as flavorful as those at Chili's. The items are not made in house, not even at Chili's, they are purchased frozen from a supplier like Sysco or US Food. I would order this again, and the Blue Cheese dressing was very good. The Cauliflower Bites were equally good, and I switched out the aioli for Blue Cheese, and it was perfect. First time here in 6 years and we were very impressed! Came around 530ish on a Sunday and it was busy but we were seated quickly. We got the kids cheese pizza which was plenty for my 5 and almost 2 year old to split and added a side of sweet potato fries. My husband and I split the pesto chicken pasta and the tangled Bianca pizza which were both delicious. The pesto pasta really impressed us and I really loved the flavor combo of the pizza. Came here to watch someone I know play with their band! We got lucky and were seated right away, but they got busy fast! Another friend of ours came after us and were told the wait was one hour just for a table of 2. So, maybe consider a reservation or if your party is small, you have the option to bring your own chair and set up in the lawn. The staff was definitely slammed and running all over the place tending to tables. They did a great job keeping everyone happy and things flowing smoothly, so shoutout to them! I ordered the Tangled Bianca pizza. It was a little disappointing because the crust was very soft and I was hoping for at least a little crisp. The dollops of ricotta were much bigger than I expected, and made it difficult to eat. Way too many of the bites were just ricotta and nothing else. I couldn't finish it. We have made it a yearly tradition to dine with Tanglewood Pizza Co before going to the Festival of Lights on Black Friday - and it's one of our most delicious traditions! The staff is always friendly and prompt and we so look forward to a good comfort meal from here. I love their seasonal cocktail menu. We decided to find out if the pizza here was up to some of the five star ratings. We got here mid-afternoon around 2:30. There were five or six high school age girls at the hostess stand and we got seated at the booth directly behind it. The reason I bring that up is during our time there the group would be talking, but I noticed how the floors had a lot of debris but none of these were sweeping up the messes even though they were just talking to each other. We ordered two pizzas so we could take some home for leftovers. My wife got the Bianca and I got the Rustic. My pizza had pesto, goat cheese and dried figs, but the figs were crunchy and had a strange flavor but okay. The pizza my wife got had ricotta and sausage but the sausage didn't have any flavor. I ordered a Guinness to go with the pizza, but it seemed flat and not like a good draft. All in all I wasn't impressed so we won't be back. read more

Very underwhelmed. The Bianca Pizza had sausage that just had no flavor and one bite I had fatty grizzle in it and I couldn't chew. The rustic Pizza had this weird dried fig topping that just wasn't appetizing and was overly dry and salty. The floor underneath our table was very dirty and the floor around the hostess main area was also dirty and no one was doing anything about it. So I don't think we'll be coming back. I will say the staff was very attentive to our table maybe a little too much but a better too much than not enough. It just seemed like there was large groups of these girls around the hostess table when there could have been things to be done around the restaurant. read more

They had so many menus to look at and you could only order certain foods on each which made it super overwhelming. We were told the largest size pizza by the waitress was 16 inches so we ordered 3 / 16 inch pizzas . Only 12 inch pizzas were brought out and clearly not enough food but took so long to get food and it was cold so we were not ordering more. No one came out to tell us that all they had was 12 inch pizzas and if they had we would have definitely ordered more. They had brunch items and pizza items and the list of sides listed bacon so my husband ordered a burger with a side of bacon ( same price for all sides) He was told by the waitress that he could but then she came out and told him bc he didn't order other breakfast items so he could not order a side of bacon( the waitress showed him the sides listed and this list included bacon) The manager came out and gave ok for the bacon but when food arrived it had fries and no bacon. It was also cold.I ordered a side of eggs and a side of bacon and received scrambled eggs with bacon in them also cold and undercooked. The kids were given kids menus no crayons. My daughter's boyfriend ordered a miles and didn't get it until everyone else was almost done. It also was Luke warm at best. We had a group so we expected a gratuity but it was an automatic 20%. This place needs to serve pizza if it's a pizza place and offer bigger pizzas for groups. Get rid of brunch or get rid of the pizza and call yourself a Tanglewood brunch. We were in the mood for pizza so we decided to eat here. My son is currently obsessed with soft pretzels and they had one. We appreciate how family friendly the restaurant is. We had an awesome waitress. We ordered the pretzel and seafood appetizer special. Both were great and my son was happy with the pretzel. I ordered the pomegranate margarita which was really good. I ordered the special vegetarian pizza and my son had the kids pizza with prosciutto. My husband had the white pizza. We all enjoyed our different pizzas. the kids pizza was huge and they put a lot of prosciutto on it. The veggie pizza had great flavor and plenty of toppings. The white pizza was also very tasty. My friend and I dined here for dinner while in town and had an okay experience. I started off with a beer then had a TPC margarita. For food we split the bruschetta, brussels sprouts and TPC pizza. The bruschetta is served on their pizza dough so that and the brussels sprouts would have been enough and they were both good. I did not care for the pizza, I ended up giving it to someone beside me since we were from out of town. It would not be my first choice for a dinner option in the area. read more

We had some family coming into town this weekend and they have dietary restrictions (gluten allergy) so we did a bit of research prior to stopping in on Saturday afternoon. Our party of 6 arrived about 4pm and we were given the option of a large booth or high top table. We chose the high top table and our server quickly came by and provided us menus and took our drink orders. We were happy to see that they offer a full-bar and quite a few taps. Several of us ordered draft beer and the ladies ordered the Dono-Berry Martini (Tito's Vodka, Prosecco, muddled blueberries, cranberry and lemon juice, and simple syrup). We took some time looking over the menu and everything sounded great. In the end, we chose two of the pretzels with beer cheese and an order of buffalo wings for our appetizer. For the entrees, three of us ordered pizza's, and three of us ordered the salmon salads. Our food arrived in a timely manner and tasted delicious. We all really enjoyed our meals. Our server was attentive and took great care of us as well. In addition to the bar and booths inside they have a large outdoor patio area with a stage and live music as well. I had carryout from here at an event so I can't speak much to the service or the restaurant environment itself. As far as the food, we had a variety of pizzas with varying toppings, the brussel sprouts, and the fried ravioli. The brussel sprouts were delicious and by far my favorite option. The pizza was well cooked and very cheesy. Definitely better than chains like Papa John's or Domino's but I've also had better pizza in my life. The fried ravioli were very good but were similar to others I've had before. All in all, if you just want good pizza but aren't expecting a gourmet meal. This is a great and local option! read more

I got some extra Buffalo sauce on the side, which I felt like my food needed. My husband had the TPC pizza. He really enjoyed it! He said he could tell the dough was house made and the sauce was unique, but he liked it! This is the second time I've had excellent service here at TPC. Normally I don't feel like it's necessary to update a review with the same amount of stars, but they honestly knocked it out of the park both times. Today our server was Leah and what a gem! She is so kind and attentive. She kept our drinks refilled, and I drank a ton of sweet tea so this was no small feat. One thing that always bothers me (I know, I'm dramatic) is when there's no time between the appetizers and the food. Everything arrives at once and you're completely overwhelmed, the table is full and everything's getting cold. She took extra time to pace our appetizers and food and it worked out perfectly. We first ordered the brussels sprouts, which is a favorite of mine. Perfect as always. They're perfectly tender in all the right places, with those wonderfully crispy outer leaves. Flavors of garlic and balsamic are vibrant and the plentiful bacon complements the sprouts just right. Whole plate, annihilated. We ended up ordering another appetizer, because I can't resist a good soft pretzel and heavens me, this one was darn good. The presentation is noteworthy, as it hangs from a little stand, perfectly buttered and salted. A big bowl of hot, flavorful beer cheese... simply divine! They have a pizza pretzel with cheese and pepperoni I'd like to try next time. On to the entrees! I've said it before and I'll say it again. The size of these pizzas is perfect. They're 6 slices each (12" I believe) and perfectly shareable. Small enough (and affordable enough) to get a couple and share, which I love because they have so many great options! We got The Farmer, which has pesto, mushrooms, roasted red pepper, spinach, mozzarella and goat cheese. Pesto and goat cheese are particularly strong flavors and can easily overpower a pizza but all the sauce to cheese to toppings ratios were spot on. I like really soft veggies on my pizza, and these were just right for me. We also got a supreme (no olives) and it was great! I'm not a huge fan of red sauce, but theirs tasted fresh and there wasn't too much. Perfect wood fired crust, a little soft, a little crispy and plenty of cheese! My mom got the turkey melt, which ended up being seriously delicious. Turkey, bacon, Swiss, and cranberry Mayo. The sourdough was toasted to perfection with butter and plenty of filling! Served with a side, and the tater tots were crispy and delicious! This is a regular spot for us, we had picky eaters in our group who were thoroughly impressed, and the more adventurous eaters were satiated to boot. Keep it up, TPC!!! read more

Our server left our table alone for 25+ minutes on two occasions and we had to flag her down whenever anything was needed.. refills, plates, boxes, the check... she wasn't proactive at all. I took a couple of my friends to Tanglewood Pizza Company before going to the Tanglewood Festival of Lights. I personally loved the Rustica pizza, which I shared with my date, but he was not a fan. I think the goat cheese was the deterrent for him. My friend and her fiancé got a barbecue chicken pizza which they offered a piece to my boyfriend, and he definitely preferred that one. The pizza seems to be hit or miss with people depending on what flavor they choose, but overall, it appears to be a wood fire pizza and I love those. The server we had was great and continuously refilled our drinks and kept checking in on us. They were also setting up live music as we were leaving, so if you go on a Saturday night, you might get to experience that. The dogs are with us and the staff have been bringing water bowls and frozen yogurt puppy treats to my dogs. I mean, my dogs are in love with the cute girls swarming around them like bees to honey. Dudes with dogs? Bring them. the cutie pie girls here love them some doggies. We are having chicken and waffles and a Wicked Weed strawberry kiwi burst sour brewed in Asheville NC that really makes me want to slap my momma This place belongs in a place like Raleigh or Charlotte due to the level of quality of food , atmosphere and staff but thank goodness it's here in Advance because small town and village people get to enjoy it at reasonable prices and proximity. We popped into Tanglewood Pizza Company on a busy Saturday night but were seated immediately. The location itself is really bizarre and kind off the beaten path if you're coming from Winston-Salem. This night, they had a big event outside with live music and vendors. Everyone had their yard chairs set up outside which looked like fun. This would explain the extremely slow service we received. It took 25-30 minutes just to get the appetizer and even longer for the pizzas. They have a lot of pizzas to choose from so we had to get three because, you know, we like variety and stuff. I thought the pizza was incredible! And they have the *good ranch* if you know what I mean. The pizzas are small so if you're hungry, order a couple to share. One pizza would be enough for one hungry person and maybe 2 people if you have a side or appetizer to go with. I really enjoyed the caesar salad. We also got the spinach dip which was really good but I wish they included more chips. I would NOT recommend the margarita listed on their cocktail menu. It tasted like straight up orange juice (hello gastric reflux) and the alcohol was undetectable. You'd be better off ordering from the beer menu.
