We each looked for items we normally get at Mexican restaurants. We were provided chips and salsa and had to ask our server to give us more time to look at the menu. The salsa was not extremely chunky which is what I prefer and it had a very nice flavor. When our server returned, my wife chose the shrimp fajitas with a side of guacamole and I chose the Chili Colorado with double rice and no beans. Our meals arrived in a timely manner and looked great, the fajitas were sizzling and my wife thought the chunky guacamole looked great. We each enjoyed our meals but the service was just okay, it felt like we had to seek out our server. Overall it was a decent experience but nothing blew our socks off.

They have a diverse menu and so many options sounded delicious so it was difficult to choose, but I went with a Tex-Mex Burrito with chicken. The food came out very fast. The burrito was smothered in queso which was another huge plus! Decent sized portions, the chicken and peppers and onions had an awesome flavor from their char marks. I loved the rice and beans. (Side note: I hate when places make you choose one or the other and was relieved to receive both!) There were two hot sauce options on the table and one of them might be a new favorite of mine. They had pancakes, eggs, and even brunch-only refreshers for those who don't drink, which I thought was a nice touch and shows they're thinking about all types of guests. Beyond the food, it was nice hearing the story behind the restaurant and how the name Ma'Luz was inspired by family.
