I've been going to La Carreta for years. They are easily my favorite overall Mexicans restaurant in the greater ManchVegas area. To the point: food, drinks, ambiance and service are all very well done....what else is there to say! Oh yeah, quite affordable also. So check out La Carreta and Enjoy!

    Onions on the Burrito (Bu-Ree-Toh)

Worst food ever! I ordered a steak and cheese burrito dinner with no peppers. It was more like an onion burrito. No cheese and more onions than steak. I added espinacha because there was no cheese

Our overly salted fajitas from previous visit

Two strikes and we are out... Our last visit my husband and I found both of our fajita dishes overly salted. About 2 months later we decided to give this place another chance. He ordered steak fajitas and I ordered the fish tacos. We got table side guac (thank goodness) because it was quite a long wait from when we ordered to when our meals arrived. Table-side guac was 10/10. My husbands steak fajitas came as a mix of chicken & steak. Not the end of the world but once again overly salted making it inedible for him. I was disgusted by just the look of my fish tacos. Presentation 0/10. I have never had grilled fish that was dripping like this. Even with adding the pickles cabbage & chipotle mayo I could not continue to eat these. Oh I also had to ask for my missing rice and beans. I don't know what this is that came on my plate but these "beans" were soupy. There's absolutely no way we will ever return.

    Espinaca dip. Yum

Popped in on Presidents day after a few other restaurant choices were closed upon arrival. We had a bartender that seemed like she needed a vacation. The espinaca dip was delicious and the accompanied chips were warm and fresh tasting. I opted for the El Jefe burrito that has chicken, chorizo, rice, cheese, and refried beans. It was very good but i thought it would be a lil bit bigger. My gf got the seafood enchiladas with shrimp and blue crap and she absolutely loved them. She said the corn tortillas were great and she wasnt sure she'd enjoy the crab but she loved it. The bar was kind of busy but kind of dead at the same time depending on the minute. Bathrooms were clean.

I've been going to this location for 20 years, but this review will be only for this particular visit. The food was good, but service was a little lacking. Not terrible but maybe they were understaffed. Chips and salsa came out immediately and it was delicious as always. I could drink that stuff. Then it was a pretty long time before our server came by to take the drink orders. We had long finished the chips and salsa by the time our drinks came and I had been hoping to enjoy the queso fundido with my drink and before we ate all the chips. Then when the drinks came he took our food order so the appetizer (queso) got put in right with the entrees. Sure enough, the queso came out and then like 5 minutes later the entrees so the timing was a little rough. BUT I love it all so it wasn't a big deal. Loved the Corona-Rita! Never had one of those before and it was fun. Husband ordered the Seafood Enchiladas which had shrimp and blue crab. I had a couple of bites and it had a good flavor, but kind of a dry texture and there was just a lot of rice and not enough sauce to make everything stick together. My steak fajitas were great, and MASSIVE. I had like 2 other meals worth for leftovers that I took home.

Such good filling, I did think the menu said queso fresco and if I'm not mistaken I didn't receive that. They were a bit spicy, but I really enjoy spicy food. The rice was fluffy and the beans had such good flavor. My drinks were good but the one that was supposed to be super spicy was on the sweater side. I do think the big cups = more juice/ mix, which I do not prefer. Tacos were good. There is free parking in the back on the weekends!!

Mexican food! Finally! Yes!…read more So my hometown is Zacatecas, Mexico and I couldn't believe there was a restaurant in New Hampshire named after my hometown! So of course I had to try it! The restaurant is super cute and quaint with a nice bar. They have a huge margarita menu which is overwhelming so I had to ask which one was the most popular one and got that one. The menu looked good but I was really craving tacos so I order some tacos Al Pastor which came with a side of beans and rice. My boyfriend got one of their meat platters which also looked good. The tacos were very good! The tortillas especially stood out because they tasted legit! The rice and beans also tasted authentic so I was very satisfied with my choice. My boyfriends meat dish was very tasty and he was kind enough to share a few bites. My margarita was huge and tasted very strong but I was ok with that. The nice waitress made sure we were taken care, she was very attentive. What a great find! I can't wait to come back! Both our entrees were very good

When I walked in…read moreit was empty and the lady behind the counter looked at me as if I shouldn't be there so I kindly asked if they were open and she said yes. 1st impression not so good in my opinion. I said I would like to place an order to go and she grabbed her pad. I ordered the following menu items so we could give them a try and see if they compared to our favorite Mexican place. 1st I said I'd like to get the Mexican Steak and I had to point at the menu item-the lady said NO, I said ok can I get the Steak Ranchero she said ok then I said with NO beans, she repeated no beans to me, I said yes, then she said ok. 2nd I said I would like the Solocarne Fajitas-I asked if I could do half chicken half beef she said NO, I said ok-then she said ok. 3rd I said I would like the guacamole and she said NO. 4th I said I would like to order some tacos. I said I want 2 chicken tacos, she said ok, I then said I want 2 steak tacos, she said ok and lastly I said I would like 2 Chorizo tacos, she said ok. She went to get the food ready. Without getting into details of watching that circus and having the uncomfortable silence I waited roughly 30 minutes while she heated up the food (she pulled all of it from her fridge and or her condiment station. I got the food and headed home so we could try it out again based on good reviews. The steak Ranchero steak was pale in color which told me either it was old or it was boiled either way it was terrible and chewy. I had said no bean I got beans which were gross along with the incredibly dried out rice. The Solocarne Fajitas steak was like the bits you get from the grease trap and chewy/fatty. The rice was just as dry as mine and the beans were gross. Even the veggies weren't good. Instead of 6 tacos we got just 4-2 chicken 1 steak and 1 chorizo. Not sure if I was charged for 6 or not because I was never given a detailed receipt. The taco shells were so dry we tossed them out, all the meat was so dry we didn't finish! The only thing that seemed good was the cilantro. This place in my opinion is terrible so I am very surprised at all the good reviews but to each their own.

I ordered the Chicken Fajitas ($11 plus tax) served with 2 sides (I chose yellow rice and beans). The food was cooked fresh to order and ready in about 25 minutes as promised, packed in two styrofoam boxes. The chicken fajitas consisted of marinated tender boneless chicken pieces, green peppers, red peppers, onions, and tomatoes, served with 4 warm soft corn tortillas and lettuce, tomato, & sour cream. The yellow rice was cooked firm and had a good chicken flavor. The refried black beans were very soft and smooth. The chicken fajitas I had were very good and not too greasy either. I would order the fajitas again!

The place was not too busy and I could sit anywhere I wanted. The owner greeted me and brought out complementary crunchy tortilla chips & red tomato salsa. He also brought out homemade green salsa, which was very good. I ordered water, a Poland Spring bottle ($2) and the Chicken Fajitas ($13.50 plus tax) served with rice and black beans. The chicken fajitas were served very hot on a skillet with fresh red & green peppers, onions, yellow zucchini and tender strips of chicken breast, a bit oily on the skillet. The side plate had soft Mexican rice, cup of black beans, and a green salad with pico de gallo. There was no guacamole or sour cream on the plate. I did have to request warm soft tortillas (I got 2) after being served. The portion of food was very generous and I was very full, so no dessert. Overall, I had a good dinner at Iguana's. The food was fresh, tasty, and very filling. What I liked about this place is that it was laid back and not mobbed or very busy like the other sitdown Manchester Mexican restaurants including Puerto Vallarta, Nuevo Vallarta, La Carreta, and Mi Jalisco. I actually had a good quiet dinner with the owner checking up on me to see how things were.
