The sauce was spicy, which I enjoy their chips. Nothing spectacular, but not terrible either. My husband,and I both ordered the steak tip quesadilla they were served in a timely manner and very hot and fresh we both chose to go with the rice and the rice was just a standard Mexican rice nothing extraordinary about it. The steak quesadilla had plenty of cheese had plenty of flavor. It wasn't soggy and it wasn't over crispy. Either. The portion size was perfect. First of all I'm a big fan of this restaurant but last nights experience wasn't close to the norm, (I hope). Waiter was terrible. He 100% didn't want to be there. Never ever smiled once. Never asked if things were ok. Never apologized for 1 meal coming 15 minutes after the others. We had a party of 6. 5 meals came at the time you would expect at 5.30. One meal never showed and had to be reordered so 5 of us were half done by the time it came. The burritos the others got looked great. My gf and I both got chicken fajitas. Mine was sizzling and hers was cold. Absolutely tasteless. No seasoning whatsoever. I won't go back there. I will however continue to go to the Nashua location which has always been good. This review comes well overdue. This is my cheers and we frequent here weekly. Hospitality is feeling welcomed and warm, inviting and at home when u arrive. This restaurant makes you feel like you are home with how each of the staff makes you feel from the moment you walk thru the door. My now adult kids bring boyfriends and friends here because it has become a home base for us to frequent, a place to share memories and a place to celebrate, a place to share bad news and feel safe when you've lost someone and don't want to go home, yet. The good is incredibly consistent and authentic (we've been to Mexico frequently) and the chips and salsa is an awesome and perfect start of the meal, it comes out in seconds when u sit down. I've had everything here from the super fresh soup to enchiladas and tacos on a Tuesday. The margaritas are sneaky strong and served up properly everytime. They carry ALOT of specialty tequilas and including their own barrels from Herradura which can be purchased at the NH liquor store (u need to request them by name from back stock). So wife and I went sat afternoon and service was great, however my nachos were another story...it started when my nachos were delivered to our table. The server, who was not our original server, slid my nachos in front of me and the tomato on the side of the plate slid onto the table, and he said "whoops " and turned around and left.ok.... My nachos were one of the worst i have ever had... there was at least a pound of chicken on this tiny platter, and a handful of chips, blobs of cheese here and there , no vegetables, and some refried beans ( which I like) and shredded lettuce. DRY DRY DRY. I gave up plucking chicken from the platter after a had filled a little plate full. Won't be back. read more

Two strikes and we are out... Our last visit my husband and I found both of our fajita dishes overly salted. About 2 months later we decided to give this place another chance. He ordered steak fajitas and I ordered the fish tacos. We got table side guac (thank goodness) because it was quite a long wait from when we ordered to when our meals arrived. Table-side guac was 10/10. My husbands steak fajitas came as a mix of chicken & steak. Not the end of the world but once again overly salted making it inedible for him. I was disgusted by just the look of my fish tacos. Presentation 0/10. I have never had grilled fish that was dripping like this. Even with adding the pickles cabbage & chipotle mayo I could not continue to eat these. Oh I also had to ask for my missing rice and beans. Took my wife here for our anniversary and surprisingly everything was perfect. Was totally expecting something to go wrong lol, because that's my luck. I'm not kidding everything was perfect. I was not paid to say this. Food, drinks were excellent. Waiter was nice, but i could absolutely not understand him. The waiter did not understand the native language of Manchester. So i just ordered a steak burrito. I wanted to customize it, but there was no use trying to communicate with him. Thankfully the food was amazing. I'm honestly in shock. Popped in on Presidents day after a few other restaurant choices were closed upon arrival. We had a bartender that seemed like she needed a vacation. The espinaca dip was delicious and the accompanied chips were warm and fresh tasting. I opted for the El Jefe burrito that has chicken, chorizo, rice, cheese, and refried beans. It was very good but i thought it would be a lil bit bigger. My gf got the seafood enchiladas with shrimp and blue crap and she absolutely loved them. Always a favorite of my partner, especially the Queso Fundido, so we went on a Wednesday night with one of our kids. We noticed on the menu, kids eat free on Wednesdays until 7:00. We got seated before 7:00, so we thought: "Great, we can save a little on the bill by ordering a kids meal". We ordered drinks & appetizer and once that came we ordered our meal. When the check came, which was time stamped with our initial order of 6:57, I noticed the kids meal still showed. After I asked, the waitress showed me on her order tablet that we did not order the meal until 7:14, so it was not eligible for the discount. I've been going to this location for 20 years, but this review will be only for this particular visit. The food was good, but service was a little lacking. Not terrible but maybe they were understaffed. Chips and salsa came out immediately and it was delicious as always. I could drink that stuff. Then it was a pretty long time before our server came by to take the drink orders. We had long finished the chips and salsa by the time our drinks came and I had been hoping to enjoy the queso fundido with my drink and before we ate all the chips. Then when the drinks came he took our food order so the appetizer (queso) got put in right with the entrees. Sure enough, the queso came out and then like 5 minutes later the entrees so the timing was a little rough. BUT I love it all so it wasn't a big deal. Loved the Corona-Rita! Never had one of those before and it was fun. Husband ordered the Seafood Enchiladas which had shrimp and blue crab. I had a couple of bites and it had a good flavor, but kind of a dry texture and there was just a lot of rice and not enough sauce to make everything stick together. Let's start with our waiter - spoke NO English then argued about a drink - he said (in who knows the language) that they didn't have a specific drink - THAT WAS ON THE MENU!!!!! We started with Nacho's - who puts a SLICE of a tomato (NOT diced) on top of the nachos? They were decent at best. The waiter didn't even bother bringing dishes - we put napkins down. Fajitas eel mar were very good. I would not recommend the Macarena margarita. It was large but not very good at all- bad tequila (probably Cuervo) and the sweet and sour was definitely store bought. I wish it had more authentic ingredients for that price read more

I called La Caretta on Hooksett Road to order a special birthday lunch for a family member. I won't name the individual but but it took me almost half hour to place the order since the restaurant was extremely busy, under staff which is usual these days. At the time of the payment, the gal took the order said the card didn't go through that was because of the beeping noise came in from other callers so she tried it again and said it went through. I asked for the receipt and she said she doesn't have access to the system...it was down or something. The next day, I received a voice mail from the restaurant manager just two hours before the pick up time to tell me the card did not go through. The manager said the gal took the order came to her yesterday after she hung up with me to say the card didn't go through and for the manager to call me back (perhaps the beeping noise came through from other callers distracted the info I gave her). Disregard of what happened, both employees should have called me back immediately. Couple things to mention why didn't the gal took the order made the initiative to call me back and why didn't the manager waited until the next day to call me just two hours before pick up time. Unfortunately, I was not reachable and no lunch was made for the family member at the pick up time. The restaurant don't delivers and I live in Los Angeles. The sad thing was my birthday member had to ask her supervisor to leave work to pick up her own birthday lunch to find out there was no lunch! It was an embarrassment, disappointed and at the same time having to deal with the manager's attitude with excuses under staff and too busy to deal with the situation. Before we hung up, the manager asked me if I want to try the card again for her to make the lunch! Hello? My girlfriend and I stopped here for lunch. The first thing we both noticed was how amazingly decorated this restaurant was. The staff were great. We ordered a Mexican combination platter each and we both thoroughly enjoyed it. We will be back when we visit Manchester in the future. read more

Incredible food, incredible pricing, and wonderful service! The inside is SO different than I expected, as the restaurant is in a strip mall, but the layout is quite large, and the decor is so immersive and fun. After trying this place for the first time, we came back the same week and then again when we had company in town. HIGHLY recommend giving La Carreta a try. I had my first ever tamale, and first ever chile rellenos here, and was absolutely blown away by how delicious it was.
