Food is what I expected and definitely not as good as the Manchester La Carreta location. Would've went to Los Reyes but not open on Sunday and this was the closest spot. Shrimp tacos - good grill on shrimp, average taco otherwise Torta - bread was good but way too much bread/guac ratio and not enough chicken or other flavoring coming through. But let me just say....tasting these beauties from the very first bite was, like....life changing! I almost forgot I was in NH again. The brisket is extremely well seasoned and tenderized overnight to give it that savory, tender texture. Nothing like those other places that serve brisket that's chewier than shoe leather (y'all know what I'm talking about). They also do take out, of course. But I highly recommend you order these puppies in. Because holy hot damn, are those crispy taco shells tasty! Even the dipping sauce is legendary, with garnish n' everything! It's like there was a party in my mouth and everyone was invited. I can't think of a single thing to nitpick about these tacos, other than the fact that I wish I had more. These are unmistakably a 10 out of 10. For the most part, my friend and I come here to sit at the bar and have drinks. They also serve the traditional complimentary chips and salsa, which....are also possibly the best damn thing I ever tasted in the Mexican cuisine. It's apparent the salsa is homemade. A co worker and I sat at the bar for a couple beverages but ended up eating because the specials menu was particularly interesting. They start out everyone who's a paying customer with chips and salsa which is awesome because even if you are just trying to have a couple beers or margaritas you will have something light to munch on as well. We ordered drinks and a couple entrees, she got the French toast and I got a chorizo smash burger. I am assuming she enjoyed her French toast because it was gone very quickly! I got my burger and it was solid but the fries that came with it were just ok and clumped together. According to the U.S. Department of Labor, the agreement includes $445,085 in back wages and an equal amount in liquidated damages. The fine was agreed to after an investigation by the department and, later, litigation for Fair Labor Standards Act violations. According to the findings, the two restaurants paid four servers only tips -- which resulted in minimum wage underpayments. The restaurants also failed to pay overtime to employees who received only tips. Some employees were only paid straight time for the hours over 40 worked. This soup is not for the faint of heart. It comes with tortilla strips that add a nice crunch element to the soup. It's a good lunch or with a few tacos for dinner. Nothing better on a 10 degree day than a good bowl of hot soup. Everything is fresh and seasoned perfectly. The Colorado Pork RULES!! The best I have ever had. Emily is our usual waitress and is the BOMB! She gives us special treatment and she is very social and friendly. She remembers our names, and is always happy to see us. I therefore I tip more because she is a hot ticket and is accommodating. At La Carrata, I like the ambiance, the tiles, and Mexican murals. The bar has like over 30 brands of tequilas, which I have only sampled few. The hot tortilla chips come out as soon as you are seated. I add salt to them. The salsa is just hot enough...but no too hot. I like that the salsa is in small little wine carafes. I came here for dinner with my boyfriend, I got the shredded chicken quesadilla (10.25$) and he got the taco salad (10.99$) Here's why I'm not impressed and why I questioned the food I was eating... Our orders came quick, like really quick. I will never be one to complain about food coming fast because who doesn't like fast service, but when I say quick I mean it came 5 minutes after ordering it. We were both shocked. When my boyfriend noticed he didn't get a side of rice and beans with his order he asked for it and the guy said yes one minute, went into the kitchen and got it in less than a minute. I mean are they giving us left overs? Heating it up? It didn't taste very good so I wouldn't be surprised, honestly it was just kinda sketchy. Not to mention a crowd of 6 waiters just standing around in a corner talking. Also, I thought I ordered quesadillas, that meaning more than one but I just got one that wasn't cut and was falling apart. We've been going to La Caretta for probably 8 years now. This was our first dine-in visit post pandemic. We were excited for tableside guacamole, but that changed when it was delivered to our table already made. I get it, but it felt like that could have been mentioned when we ordered. Also, what we received for guacamole was not really blended at all. It was very heavy on the cilantro, very lacking in avocado 'chunks' and almost completely devoid of salt. Disappointing for $12. Burritos and chimichangas were good as always. Fajitas for $22 seemed like a bit of a rip off. No rice or cheese was included for that price. We'll probably be back, but not for a while. read more

This place does not even deserve 1 star! Me and 5 co-workers came here after work today. Our waiter, Perla, had an attitude and was extremely rude the second we sat down stating "Just so you know we DON'T split the checks". Our waiter barely came to check on us, never got a refill on my beverage after asking. Once our bill came, we questioned the bill because we never got a food item & there was an extra margarita added. The waiter got defensive and stormed off to get the manager. When the manager, Maria, approached, she threatened that we had to pay for our drinks or she would call the police! Did not even ask what the situation was--just threatened to call police!! We explained our question of the bill: she removed an item that was $5 and our bill came back with additional charges and the "corrected bill" only $1 less. The manager only said she was hearing numerous stories and did not even apologize! Awful service and awful attitude from the waiter AND manager! Drinks - asked for a root-beer and a water with a lemon - got a Dr. Pepper and a water no lemon. Dinner - His was correct I asked for a shredded beef quesadilla I got handed a shredded chicken quesadilla. All of this wish other peoples napkins and food under the table. I would absolutely not recommend take out. My boyfriend and I are regulars here and order the same exact thing every time but when we get home it's always different. Not only that but the prices are always different as well. Don't get me wrong the food is usually good when they get our order correct. I went there once before for an eat-in meal. It was Okay, nothing special. This time I tried their take-out. They did not have a take-out menu, they suggested that i go on-line and use that menu. They did not have typical take-out selections. My biggest complaint was that we called and was told that they had a 10 taco selection for $21. I then called to order and they could not figure out where this 10 taco price was , it turned out to be $29 instead. Numerous items on their on-line menu was priced differently than what i was charged. When I talked to the manager, she could not understand that $29 is not the same as $21. Ordered the Enchiladas Suizas mentioned in other reviews, because I wanted pork. For some reason I was leery, because the salsa that came with the warm chips was salty. The Suizas was very salty - my companion agreed. Pro: The "Shredded Pork" was actually large chunks of Pork, Con: SALTY + chewy fatty tubular something that I had to spit out. Flipped thru drinks offered. Most expensive was a shot of Herradura Tequila @ $55/shot, which is $5 more than Zafiro Añejo. Our waiter could understand my questions, but could not answer well enough in English. Couldn't picture so asked about the Torta (Mexican Panini -"We bake our own bread",er bun). Also waiter had no comment when I told him about my Suizas. Location is in the Hannaford Plaza. Went on an early Monday evening in June. There were customers seated in the booths around us, yet the noise level was excellent (perhaps due to the gold stenciled acoustic ceiling tiles above.) Background music very faint. Entrees arrived on colorful large oval Fiestaware-like plates, 1 yellow, the other turquoise. The entry had out of date Hippos and Stateline mags.
