Food was yummy. It was crowded so the wait time was a little long for us . Every one got their meals before we did even though we got there first.. love the Marachi band. The drink was delicious as well. Definitely would go back.

Whenever I visit the area this is a must stop. Had lunch combo of taco and enchilada. Appreciate the chili sauce on the enchilada and just the right amount of cheese. Margaritas great too.

What would you say....if I told you....there is a place that serves legit Birria tacos right here in the good ol' Town of New Hampshire? You'd perhaps be a bit skeptical, right? Probably as skeptical as I was when my best friend first told me about this place. Or as skeptical as Lisa A. was when I told her I was gonna try these. Well, let me tell you....La Carreta has got it goin' on! They could give El Paso a few lessons on how to make an epic Birria taco. So far, I've only tried the beef brisket ones. My best friend says I seriously need to try the shrimp Birria tacos next time around, and I'll definitely let you know how that turns out. But let me just say....tasting these beauties from the very first bite was, like....life changing! I almost forgot I was in NH again. The brisket is extremely well seasoned and tenderized overnight to give it that savory, tender texture. Nothing like those other places that serve brisket that's chewier than shoe leather (y'all know what I'm talking about). They also do take out, of course. But I highly recommend you order these puppies in. Because holy hot damn, are those crispy taco shells tasty! Even the dipping sauce is legendary, with garnish n' everything! It's like there was a party in my mouth and everyone was invited. I can't think of a single thing to nitpick about these tacos, other than the fact that I wish I had more. These are unmistakably a 10 out of 10. For the most part, my friend and I come here to sit at the bar and have drinks. They also serve the traditional complimentary chips and salsa, which....are also possibly the best damn thing I ever tasted in the Mexican cuisine. It's apparent the salsa is homemade. The prices are more than affordable and sanitary shields are installed for every two seats. I should also mention the BIrria tacos are actually a Wednesday special. Which is good, since it doesn't get as crowded as it would on the weekends. Yeah....NH made Taco Wednesday a thing. Imagine that! For once, turns out all the hype was true. So, I am pleased to give La Carreta Restaurante Mexicano (crikey, what a long ass name!) in Derry 5 crispy Birria tacos delivering life changing experiences out of 5.

A co worker and I sat at the bar for a couple beverages but ended up eating because the specials menu was particularly interesting. They start out everyone who's a paying customer with chips and salsa which is awesome because even if you are just trying to have a couple beers or margaritas you will have something light to munch on as well. We ordered drinks and a couple entrees, she got the French toast and I got a chorizo smash burger. I am assuming she enjoyed her French toast because it was gone very quickly! I got my burger and it was solid but the fries that came with it were just ok and clumped together. Our server was excellent, the atmosphere was nice, and the music was shockingly soothing lol.

Soup transferred to a ramekin with tortilla strips.

Three words: CHICKEN TORTILLA SOUP This is the best soup I've ever had. It's a wonderful blend of chicken, rice, tomato, onion and peppers. It's got serious heat. This soup is not for the faint of heart. It comes with tortilla strips that add a nice crunch element to the soup. It's a good lunch or with a few tacos for dinner. Nothing better on a 10 degree day than a good bowl of hot soup. It might be considered on the expensive side: 5.99 soup + 2.00 carry out fee + 0.51 tax + 1.08 18% tip = 9.58 Total But in the end it's a quality item and sometimes you have to pay a premium for quality. Maybe the carry out fee should be reevaluated.

I LOVE this new Mexican restaurant. I have made it officially my local hang out. I have made it an effort to try the entire menu and I have not been dissatisfied. Everything is fresh and seasoned perfectly. The Colorado Pork RULES!! The best I have ever had. Emily is our usual waitress and is the BOMB! She gives us special treatment and she is very social and friendly. She remembers our names, and is always happy to see us. I therefore I tip more because she is a hot ticket and is accommodating. At La Carrata, I like the ambiance, the tiles, and Mexican murals. The bar has like over 30 brands of tequilas, which I have only sampled few. The hot tortilla chips come out as soon as you are seated. I add salt to them. The salsa is just hot enough...but no too hot. I like that the salsa is in small little wine carafes. The best Mexican food in S. NH.

Best Mexican food. Comes out quickly and the salsa is addicting! Don't sleep on the combo plates.

Such good filling, I did think the menu said queso fresco and if I'm not mistaken I didn't receive that. They were a bit spicy, but I really enjoy spicy food. The rice was fluffy and the beans had such good flavor. My drinks were good but the one that was supposed to be super spicy was on the sweater side. I do think the big cups = more juice/ mix, which I do not prefer. Tacos were good. There is free parking in the back on the weekends!!

The restaurant is super cute and quaint with a nice bar. They have a huge margarita menu which is overwhelming so I had to ask which one was the most popular one and got that one. The menu looked good but I was really craving tacos so I order some tacos Al Pastor which came with a side of beans and rice. My boyfriend got one of their meat platters which also looked good. The tacos were very good! The tortillas especially stood out because they tasted legit! The rice and beans also tasted authentic so I was very satisfied with my choice. My boyfriends meat dish was very tasty and he was kind enough to share a few bites. My margarita was huge and tasted very strong but I was ok with that. The nice waitress made sure we were taken care, she was very attentive. What a great find! I can't wait to come back! Both our entrees were very good

Delicious refillable chips & salsa to munch on. We all had cocktails that were delicious. I enjoyed several Margaritas (I upgraded the tequila). My first complaint is that they were served in plastic cups-that's one of my pet peeves. I had a Fajita Quesadilla with chicken from the special menu that was very good. It came with rice & refried beans. Everyone else seemed to enjoy their meals. We were not rushed and the service was fine. My second complaint-we were not able to get separate checks. This made it very difficult to figure out what everyone owed. Three people paid with credit cards-the rest of us in cash. We all agreed that we would not return because of this major inconvenience. This is too bad because the food & drinks were really good. The atmosphere is typical for a Mexican restaurant. Plenty of seating in several rooms and the bar area. There was a DJ playing music. There is plenty of parking in a shared lot. I guess if you don't mind my complaints, La Carreta is an acceptable place to go for Mexican food.

Okay, okay...admittedly, we only came here for drinks because the place we actually wanted to have dinner at didn't have margaritas. And bestie loves margaritas, so.. Thing is, as soon as we mentioned this to our waiter, it's like the service got progressively colder and worse. I mean, we were still throwing them business (albeit, on a much smaller scale). Guess we won't be now. I'm glad I didn't want a second round. Because it took about 100 years for the guy to bring back the check so we could get outta there. I have no idea if the food here is even comparable to the Derry location. So, just know that this review is purely based on service and attitude. Oh, and the wage thing....I ain't touchin' that one with a 40 foot pole. 'Nuff said. La Caretta in Londonderry gets 2 underwhelming margaritas out of 5. Stick with the Derry location. The staff there are friendlier.

They brought out chips and salsa right off and the salsa was flavorful and even had a little bite. The chips were warm and crisp. They had so many things i wanted to try but i ordered the Hawaiian fajitas and hubs had the Diego burrito. When I saw the food I wished we had brought a cooler and that I hadn't eaten so many of those chips! The fajitas were served in a pineapple and had steak and chicken and chorizo. I asked for no shrimp. The flavors were so good! I loved the mango salsa and could eat that right out of the container! The rice and beans were yummy too! I had barely started on the inside of the pineapple and I was stuffed! Somehow hubs managed to eat his entire burrito. Next time definitely will bring a cooler and take home what I cant finish. I also ordered a virgin pineapple coconut margarita. It was probably the only thing I didn't love but it was very good. I think I just prefer it with the alcohol. Looking at the desserts I was wishing I had some space but I literally could not eat another bite. Highly recommend u try it out!
