Despite being subject to vaguely preferential valentine's day seating, we had a good dinner. This, like most of my ratings is a normal-guy rating. I'm not a connoisseur of anything that La Casa Pasta offers. Unless they sell chick fil a here then i'm a connoisseur in that and that only. Fusilli santa maria was cool. My scallops were a little undercooked for my liking but that doesn't make them totally unenjoyable. I will say tho that a palatable scallop, for me, is a lil bit more firm but idk im not a chef who knows what else was going on w that. Overall our drinks and food were nice, our server Wanda(didn't catch her name but the check said Wanda) was great and everything other than the seating happened in a reasonable and timely manner. We came here for dinner after a Decision Day visit at the University. We got to the restaurant at 7:00 and were surprised by the number of people ahead of us. Have no fear, however, because just when you think the place ends... there's another dining room. I got the Shrimp Scampi, my daughter got the ravioli and my wife got a pizza and salad. The dish I got was the crab raviolis very rich white sauce that at the end was perfect to use for any left over bread we had. Our server was friendly fast and knowledgeable sorry if I got your name wrong but i think she said nod (again really sorry) . Amazing job guys, first of all we reserved the Anna room, our party kept growing so they were generous enough to let us use the market room. I am sorry to say I did not catch the two wonderful, patient, accommodating servers we had but we were there 7/7/25 @ 6:00 pm. We always enjoy an evening at LaCasa Pasta. The menu is varied and we've had most of the items over the years. Always delicious and beautifully served. The Cannoli are the best and freshly made. The visit started with us ordering a bottle of wine... A different bottle was brought to the table... We told the waiter. He ran around for 10 minutes and said his manager told him they didn't have the wine from the wine list, that we ordered so here was a substitute. This wine was not at all like the profile we requested. The meal showed up next. Mediocre food. And please explain to me why wait staff needs to take your plate the second you put the last bite in your mouth. Why can't a table relax and wait for their friends to finish before clearing plates? It was my first time here. We ordered the sautéed calamari as appetizers. It was, in my opinion, too soft. Texture feels like they were frozen instead of fresh ones. Taste was ok but just too soft. My Husband and I went there to celebrate his Birthday this past Saturday. We had not been there is several years, and were happily surprised with the food. It surpassed our expectations. They had a special stuffed zucchini flowers with ricotta and also a marinated artichoke heart dish. We ordered both of these, the zucchini flowers were light and airy, the marinated artichokes well seasoned and delicious. We also ordered the Nonna's meatballs because I remembered from past visits they were always good- still some of the best meatballs I have gotten in a restaurant. Their bread basket is always good and the warm garlic bread sticks with a touch of spice from the crushed red pepper are superb. I did not have nay room for an entree, but my husband had the Veal Parmigiana. He enjoyed it, but felt the sauce was a little sweet. He had requested the marinara sauce instead of the "sweet sauce", but feel he may have still gotten the sweet sauce. They had his absolute favorite dessert on the menu, a Ricotta cheesecake- which he said was fantastic. I ordered the molten chocolate cake with vanilla ice cream. Finally stopped in for the bottomless lunch buffet at the recommendation of my Italian coworker and I was mostly impressed by what I enjoyed. My roommates and I went around 1pm as that was the spot that we had reserved our table at though I know now that a reservation is not needed at all. Maybe it was the summer time and the nearby University of Delaware was out of session so a lot of the students are not there so many it does get full but that day it was pretty empty. Maybe the lunch rush had come and gone as there was only four other tables with patrons chatting with full stomachs as we got sat at an empty table. We knew that the buffet would be wrapping up soon at 2pm, it was what it was but I came in knowing that I would not have to fight over whatever was left. After a brief run through of how to enjoy the delicious freshly made items we were left to our choices as we walked around the table opening lids to see what was on the menu. Each day as I was educated by a staff member there is always two soups, two pastas, a fish and chicken hot dish. That day there was a seafood pasta with mussels which was quickly scooped up and devoured easily. There was cod for the fish dish which was light and flavorful on its own. I didn't grab a bite of the marinara chicken and ham but I will see if it's there next time. There was cold pasta dishes, fresh mozzarella balls and an assortment of salads that is always a stable on the menu. There was cream of potato and a slight variant of Italian Wedding soup which was pretty good to finish off the pretty carb-less meal that I enjoyed. Enjoy some of the pasta but with so many items to pick from you shouldn't enjoy a big plate of linguine. It seems that the cooks decide that day what they want to cook up. It is best that you call that day maybe the staff would be able to share some insight into what's on the menu. They do their best to cover all the dietary needs of Delawareans but again knowing what you are walking into helps. They seem to have large rooms for special events, some happy and others like that day to remember love ones. Went for lunch and it definitely seems like it's more of a dinner restaurant! Our sandwiches at lunch were okay but the pasta entrees looked incredible!! They were doing a lunch Buffett until 2:00 with lots of pasta, fish, and salad on it. I had the pasta soup and it was amazing!! Lots of veggies and came out super hot. For entrees, we had the sausage and peppers sandwich which wasn't bad. The sausage had great flavor but it was so thinly sliced that it kept falling off the sandwich. This was between a 2 and a 3, but I'm going 3 because nothing was terrible, just definitely not the food that we've been seeing on instagram and various Delaware pages for recommendations. The menu looked good, and everything sounded like it would be so good and flavorful. The prices seemed reasonable, especially for the seafood dishes, and I guess that was our first clue. One thing that I definitely liked was that they had a house Lambrusco and we could order it as a 1/2 carafe. I ordered the soup of the day which was a vegetable soup with chicken and the gnocchetti Italia. Bf ordered the Mussels Fra Diavolo and the Cannelloni Di Mare. My soup came out like 15 minutes after bf's mussels, so there was like weird timing of everything. The soup was fine, it was a tomato based vegetable soup with chicken. The chicken really could have been left out since it's was super dry, but the broth and veggies were good. Bf was expecting mussels with at least some sort of kick of spice. There was none, but he said they were okay and he's had worse. The entrees is where the disappointment came. My gnocchetti pasta looked like it would be flavorful with the taste of pesto and a tomato cream sauce. There was a whisper of basil and I could taste crab meat here and there, but I could not see any. Bf's cannelloni said they were supposed to be stuffed with shrimp, crab, and scallops and I couldn't see any of those 3 things on the plate. He said he could taste seafood, but it was mostly ricotta. He said the tomato sauce on the dish just tasted like a can was opened and heated, no other basil or garlic or anything added. Again, nothing terrible, but definitely not what we were expecting. We did get desert because I can't pass up a cannoli if it's on a menu. It was fine, but definitely only filled on the ends of the shell. I worked in a bakery for a long time, so having a pastry not being filled properly is a pet peeve, but the filling tasted good at least. Our meal this evening has topped them all! On their menu, they added a new chef special Spicy Rigatoni pasta, with fra diavolo sauce. My husband ordered that, & I ordered the Bourbon Street pasta dinner that had fettuccine in a creole cream sauce with broccoli florets & cherry tomatoes. A little disappointed with our experience at this highly recommended local restaurant. We decided to try this restaurant as this was on the way to the highway since we were taking a friend to Philly Airport after dinner. We opted to be seated outside to avoid the commotion inside. We all immediately noticed our water glasses were not clean at all. It looked as if somebody ran it under the sink really fast. When the waitress came by to introduce herself, we requested some new glasses which she promptly brought new ones. She immediately poured water into the glasses and handed them to us. We ordered the calamari as an appetizer, followed by three pizzas (margherita, soppressata and a special pizza "hot and heavy." As I was getting ready to take a sip of water in our new glasses, I noticed a nasty red streak of likely dried pasta sauce on the inside of my glass. Our friend's fork also had dried, caked on cheese on her fork. Since we all ordered pizzas, we didn't even bother asking for a new fork. The "hot and heavy" special pizza was extremely greasy and dripping oil. What's most disappointing is the fact that it was not even remotely spicy. The salami in the soppressata was spicier than my "hot and heavy" pizza. The spiciest thing at our table were the red chili flakes in our bread basket. The restaurant does have a nice ambiance and service was good. However, they need to do a better job making sure utensils and glassware are clean before letting guests use them. read more

We've been here many, many times and there's a reason we keep coming back! The homemade pasta is absolutely divine, no matter what dish you order! The table bread is warm and delicious and a great start for the meal you're about to enjoy. The homemade meatballs are so juicy and flavorful and the burrata is refreshing and light. The Caesar salad is one of my favorites and we make sure to order it every time. The spicy rigatoni is beyond amazing as is the bourbon street pasta, which is so unique and delicious. The veal parm is tender and crispy and comes with delicious thin spaghetti on the side. The drinks also can't be missed and they have an extensive variety of cocktails to select from. Main course was the manicotti. Very small portion for $20. Just two pieces. The flavor was DELICIOUS! The pasta was fresh, sauce was out of sight!! Not bitter or burnt. Slightly sweet taste. Enjoyable evening with friends. Our last time here was probably around 1990/1991 when we lived in Strawberry Run Apartments. (We moved away in '94) . A bit on the pricey side but most places are these days. We started with their Italian Butcher Board and Bruschetta. My wife and I split a Caesar salad and shared the lasagna and Veal Parm entrees. Lots of flavor in the lasagna and lots of layers too. Plenty of veal Parm also with two large pieces that were quite tender. About the only thing we didn't like was the capellini, it was strangely dry. Great service from a new, younger kid. They have a proper ice rock for bourbon as well. read more

Food was delicious Service was fantastic Today is my birthday and I chose this restaurant because love it.....BUT I'm in a wheelchair and I have complained the last 5 times to managers that their parking lot is not ADA compliant. They have 2 huge planters next to their handicap parking spots. They are beautiful BUT I can't open my ramp and get my wheelchair out of my car because the anters are in the way. Managers have said they have passed my concerns on to the owners. After a year of bringing it to their attention, I guess my only option is to file a Federal ADA lawsuit. I don't like doing that because lawyers are the ones who win but it does get access accomplished. Unfortunately, it usually costs the location $20,000 to $30,000 more than they would have paid if they only listened to the person in the wheelchair. read more

Being a vegetarian the food options weren't so great and also tasted not so great for a 16-20$ price tag. Had better tasting Italian food for the same price or less.
