Looked up places that sell New York style pizza and this one came up. Very cute restaurant in the corner of the shopping center. Was disappointed in what was advertised as New York style pizza. The pizza was super thick with a very large crust and nothing like New York style pizza. It wasn't horrible, it just wasn't anything that I was expecting. Being a pizza snob, I personally would not return here for the pizza. I haven't tried the other food so I can't say overall what the food is like, but would come here to try entrées. read more

Pizza here is very good. However the cheese steak was not good at all and I was unable to eat it. I ordered the cheese steak with mayonnaise . There was no cheese on my cheese steak and then meat was very dry. There was only mayonnaise at the very tip end of the cheesesteak. The restaurant did not care that my order was wrong. Very disappointing since there is new owners and they're trying to get restarted again. For something like this, I don't expect my money back whatsoever. We dine here often and the food is always great and the staff is friendly. However, I called tonight for takeout and was immediately put on hold once they answered the phone and I waited and waited and hung up. Called back and same thing. Third time I called and she said hold again, and I sat there waiting for 5 minutes and she never came back on the phone. This isn't good customer service. If you are busy I get it, but don't answer the phone and immediately say hold it's rude. Perhaps you are under staffed, but it's still no excuse for rudeness. Excellent Italian food! My family gets takeout from here fairly often and they most recently catered my bridal shower a few weeks ago. Everyone loved the penne alla vodka (their sauce is insanely good) and chicken marsala. Their rolls are also delicious. I'd definitely recommend if you want authentic Italian food. I think Cafe Pomodoro deserves more of a 3.5 star rating, but the food was fast and the waiter was so nice that I'd bump it up to 4/5. I think the food was good, but it was nothing special. Also, it wasn't hot like I wished it was and parts were a bit almost cold, I'd say. The salad was nothing special, but most Italian restaurants' starter salads are just basic salads. I can say it did taste fresh though, which is definitely a plus! The penne alla vodka is definitely recommended if you want to try Cafe Pomodoro... you can't go wrong with it! The restaurant itself was very clean and I loved the decor on the walls. Unfortunately we did not get a chance to try the pizza but it looked delicious! Overall, I would say nothing special but it does the job if you're hoping for an Italian meal! read more

Had no idea this place existed and have been in the area for years. Came across it months ago so I finally decided to give it a try. I really wanted to like this place because I'm tired of Valentina and Napoli. But I'm underwhelmed overall by the food. Looks great in there, when you walk in you're going to be expecting some good food, the decor is great. Got a slice of cheese and a cheesesteak. Starting with the pizza it was cooked nice and it had some nice crust, but overall the pizza was dry and lacked flavor. A little sweetness to the sauce would've made this a great slice. Then with the cheesesteak, it was cooked great. It was on a liscio's roll which is generally the best in this area. Some nice ribbons of steak, got it with fried onions. I asked for lettuce, didnt get any that's fine. But again, the cheesesteak didnt have flavor, the steak wasnt seasoned. There was more flavor in the ketchup then in the actual steak itself. I've even had tap water with more flavor then this cheesesteak. Not even like it was light seasoning, there just happened to be none. Overall dissapointing experience. If I come back, it will be for the Pasta so I'll need to try that sometime. read more

Great experience for lunch and dinner! This awesome little Italian restaurant/pizzeria is tucked away in the corner of the Shops at Limestone Hills. Tried a slice of pizza and the chicken soup. Pizza was NY style, which I love, and the soup was definitely homemade. The owner is from Sicily, so everything is the real deal. Lunch was so good, I went back for dinner the following night and tried the Zuppa Di Pesce. Super fresh seafood with a generous portion. I'd order it again in a minute. Just impressive all around. Cannoli was awesome too! Service was friendly and attentive, which has been difficult to find these days. We recently moved to the area and Cafe Pomodoro has instantly become our favorite spot for Italian. We've been here 4 times now and this place transports me back to the time we traveled to Italy. The food, wine, and hospitality have been superb. Their homemade bread with the antipasti is ahhhmazing! We really enjoy their pizza, seafood, and chicken parm. Admittedly, I've only ordered from this cafe once, but my first encounter with their food was not encouraging. My spouse said his Italian sub was mediocre. My caesar salad chicken wrap was awful, however. The chicken tasted old and was warmed, so the few bits of romaine wilted, and the dressing was excruciatingly salty. I was really excited to try this place, as it's very close to where I live and the other reviews were so positive. Unfortunately, the pizza we got was so greasy, we could barely eat any of it. The grease/oil was literally puddled up in the pieces of pepperoni. We ate a few of the cheese slices because we were starving and they were less greasy, but left most of the pie behind. When the waitress came to clear the table, she didn't even ask if something was wrong when we said we didn't want to box up the over half a pizza that was left. The crust was good, but not enough to make up for the overly greasy pizza and frozen, no flavor mozzarella sticks.
