    Margherita Pizza?
    Schnitzel B.

Ordered a Meatball sub and a Margherita pizza. The Meatball sub was just ok, but the pizza was horrible. My friend recommended this place for pizza, but we didn't eat more than one slice. My daughter, who loves pizza, said it was worse than her school lunch pizza and wouldn't eat it either after taking a bite. What a sad excuse for a Margherita pizza, see pic. The Margherita should be a staple for a pizza shop - especially Italian - just like brisket is for a BBQ joint. Take some pride in your work folks or get out of the business. Will not return, wish I didn't leave the big tip.

Cafe Verdi is a great restaurant located in the trolley square area of Wilmington. The staff are very friendly and provided great service. This was my first time trying them out for restaurant week. The dinner option included 3 courses for $35. I went with the Chipotle bisque shrimp soup and it was absolutely delish ! There was a generous amount of shrimp as well as a tiny quick of heat. I went with the grilled romaine for my second course. The salad was served with crispy prosciutto and a balsamic glaze. The shaved Parmesan added the perfect finish to the dish. I wanted to have high hopes for the salmon but was left disappointed. The salmon was layered by a roasted red pepper coulis but had a weird consistency. The scallops lacked flavor. Although the last dish was a let down, I definitely would give this place another try.

My husband and I came across this place randomly. We decided to give it a shot and WOW, we were impressed! The service was great, the environment was welcoming, and the food was amazing! We ordered cheesy bread for an appetizer, the Parma personal pizza, and the Alfredo with chicken (chicken is an extra charge).Everything was delicious and the sizes were way bigger than what we expected. If you try this place, it is worth the money and time. Enjoy!

We were greeted immediately by our server and a trainee. I ordered an old fashioned and my wife ordered a specialty cocktail. Both tasted great however, wait for the drink was excessive. The bar had an afterwork crowd and it appeared a bit understaffed. For my meal I ordered grilled octopus for a starter and I think it was one of the best I've ever had. Tender, savory with a really flavorful sauce. My wife had the Ricotta focaccia. Loved it. For dinner I had the pasta with mushroom and truffle. It was amazing. Temperature was perfect. It was hot, creamy and amazingly flavorful. My wife had the bream fish dish. She enjoyed that as well. For dessert we had the almond/chocolate tort. Very nicely warmed with a rich chocolate flavor to end the meal. I'll be back for sure.

He was overseeing that meals were prepared but I kept thinking he was arguing with someone. My easy peasy drink was great. I had the lobster linguini, I think there were 4 nickel size lobster pieces in the linguini , linguini was not Al dente, overcooked, and the flavor was non descriptive. If I served it , even on a weeknight at home I'd be apologizing. My husband had the durado , he said it was so so, my sister thought her meal average and named several other places we had eaten that she would prefer, my niece had the pork , no rave review. The flourless chocolate cake was good. I was told cheesecake ok. The price was moderate, but I have paid a lot less for a lot better. When I read how the meals were prepared and ingredients I thought we were headed into a very special dinner. I hate writing negative reviews but I did teach cooking when I was younger and have certain expectations when I am going to a now celebrated restaurant.

Yes, we were greeted with a "happy birthday" and received a birthday dessert, three small scoops of vanilla ice cream with a candle, but overall I can't say that the experience was anything that special. We even paid in advance and stayed for the garden house music which was pretty uneventful with no one dancing. Not worth the extra $11 per person just to hear house music. As for the food, we ordered the fusilloni to split and loved the spicy sausage. An egg yolk was mixed in table side. A nice touch. The artisan upside down brick oven pizza was delicious too with its thin crust and mix of cheese and pesto. For dessert, The Knot with guava caramel was interesting and different, but I made the mistake of ordering a limoncello which was served in a tiny shot glass and cost $10! Also, the drinks were quite expensive. Sixteen dollars for a single on the rocks is costly. Plus, my martini was served in a small coupe. Sitting in the garden was lovely and relaxing. The landscaping/decor is thoughtful and tasteful. We loved the fountain and lights. Meanwhile, indoors was extremely cold and loud, so we were so happy to be outside.
