I love the family environment, the service was great, and the history is awesome. The food on the other hand is just meh. I'd been wanting to try this place for a long time, since it got so much publicity a while back. I rolled in solo at about the worst time possible (on a Friday night at 8 PM). The wait for a table was only about 10 - 15 minutes. The dining room was noisy. But it was the noise of a dozen or so big happy families enjoying a night out. So, that's to be expected. It took about 28 minutes for the salad to arrive. Not terrible on a busy weekend night. The salad was okay, but nothing all that special. About the time I finished the salad, the pizza came. I'd ordered the small Neoplitan Margherita pizza. I think the pricing is just a bit too high, but not horribly so. The crust was thin and crispy, just right. Not burnt at all (like other reviews mentioned). The toppings were real. Like someone actually cut up the roma tomatoes and chunks of chicken. Not like out of a can. Very tasty too. The small was just enough to fill me up. Service was very good. I'm telling you, I read all the bad reviews while waiting for a table & for my food. UNEDDIBLE PIZZA - As we were diving through the area on our way home to Michigan, we stopped and grabbed three pizzas from LaCasa's Pizzeria. When we got them into the vehicle we noticed they intense smell, but who can mess up a pizza? We were starving and once back on the road, each had a slice of three different pizzas. They were HORRIBLE and none of us could eat them. The intense smell and cheese flavor was horrible as if it had gone bad. I called the Pizzeria to warn them something was wrong, however, the manager said, they ran low on mozzarella cheese and added four other types. They would not give us a refund and we threw them away without another bite at the next rest area. If you don't have mozzarella, you don't have pizza - close your doors! read more

We came in here after being at Creighton for a presentation. The coworkers and I did a search for gluten free friendly places in the area and this one came up with pretty legit yelp reviews so we gave it a try. The atmosphere is a bit interesting. The whole building seems pretty old. The area it's in is a older part and all the shops and stores seem outdated. The inside has two different dining areas, one with a long bar. The carpeting and styling inside also seems like it could benefit from a facelift. We came during lunch and it was pretty busy but we were still seated quickly. Service was hit or miss as well. One of the servers who brought water over kind of yelled at one of my friends just for having his phone sitting where she was going to put the water. Curious. I couldn't quite tell if they were joking or what. Our server who took our order was pleasant and I was excited that I could order gluten free pastas and pizzas. Since I rarely get pasta I went for the primavera and I thought it was pretty good. The portion was plenty large and I took some home for later. The guys all got the pizza and salad lunch but all three of them were really disappointed in their meals. They said the crust was tasteless and weren't impressed with any of their topping choices. 6 of us went for my birthday and the pizza was so hot and wonderful. The girl removed all of our silverware for some reason so we had to go get it. We also had to wait to ask for napkins and a towel for a water spill. But the food was great. Hamburger with both cheeses and a couple sides of Romano is the way to go. We also had onion rings at this Pacific street location. Even though the dining experience could've been better with more staff, the food made up for it. I had not been to La Casa in over 10 years, but recently ordered takeout pizza as we were craving pizza. We ordered the toasted ravioli and carne Classico pizza. The order was not ready at our pick up time so we did have to wait 5 minutes. No big deal, as I would rather have to wait and have my food hot, then have it sitting for 15 minutes getting cold. We toasted raviolis were not my personal favorite. They were well-made, I just didn't feel like the filling had much flavor and was rather bland. The sauce that was provided with it was excellent, but was also cold... Would have preferred warm sauce as a side. Again, no big deal... A few seconds in the microwave fixed it. The carne Classico pizza was exactly as described. The toppings and sauce were incredibly delicious. Unfortunately, the crust was soggy and wet. I'm thinking mostly due to this being a take-out order. Also, I did not personally care for the flavor in the crust, as it was too sweet for my personal taste. Again, personal preference. Overall, Given that this was a take out order I would still recommend. Will definitely be back when we feel comfortable being in a restaurant again to give Lacasa another opportunity. This is a really good pizza option out East. I called in my order and it was ready within 20 minutes for pickup which I really appreciated. The pizza was thin and crispy and the hamburger toppings really added a nice flavor to the pizza. The onion rings were a little too oily/greasy and not as crispy and I thought they might have been. The pizza quantity is pretty small so definitely get more than one to share. The price is a little expensive for the quantity of food you get but still a great pizza nonetheless! read more

Came to this place on the recommendation from one of my co-workers. I will start by saying the place was packed!! so that was a great sign! Just my GF and I so they got us in right away. The server came right over and we had our drinks within 5 miniutes, very good considering the amount of people! we ordered the Fried mozzarella bites and house salads for appetizers. The mozzarella bites came out in timely manner and they were pretty good, just like a triangle cheese stick! The salads were house salads w/ Italian dressing, WAY too much vinegar in the dressing....BUT we didn't come here for the salads, we came for the pizza. We ordered a medium pizza.... 1/2 pepperoni and 1/2 pepperoni, sausage, and banana peppers. The dough was crisp and flakey, more on the thinner side. it had a delicious buttery taste! But every time I see that stocky mustached Italian mascot strumming his guitar in the neon lights, I smile on the inside. I love La Casa's toasted ravioli, which I'm pretty sure is the best in town. I should have reviewed this a long time ago because it's always a great place to go for dinner; both for the food and the service. We had a party of 7 immediately seated and ordered the onion rings to start. They are delicious here; a unique breading over sweet onion slices. I'm not sure if they are hand sliced and breaded in house, but they appear that way. A full order is good for 5 or so people. You can also get a half order. The beer selections were the usual domestics along with some local brews such as from Zipline and a seasonal ale from Empyrean. For dinner, I split the small stuffed Peppi's Potato Pizza (hamburger, onion, tomatoes and diced potatoes) with my daughter. We ordered it with no cheese. This size is plenty for two people. It came right out of the oven hot! Potatoes on a pizza? Yes, it's different . . . and good! Others in the party had lasagna and the traditional Neapolitan thin crust pizza with pepperoni and Mozzerella/Romano cheese combination. For those of you not familiar with La Casa, you can have one or the other cheese or both! If you haven't been here, make sure you check it out. We looked online at the menu and called in an order for large double crust hamburger mushroom and black olive pizza. We asked for two kinds of cheese , sauce, mushrooms and black olives . When we got home we were super disappointed in the size. Inside there was nothing but hamburger. No cheese no sauce no mushrooms no black olives just hamburger and crust. Businesses that make it to three generations are doing something right. La Casa is one of those restaurants. Your grandparents and parents swore by La Casa and chances are you do/will, too. Their style is thin crust with Romano cheese...you had me at those two facts! The pizza is crisp on the bottom and chewy, tangy and utterly delicious. Service is as crisp as their crust and plenty friendly. After all, these folks have been doing this for many years. You can also order and then walk up to the "to go" entrance on the west side of the building for half-baked to take home and finish or any other menu item. We tried that --- I wouldn't advise it: the pizza will never reach home, I assure you! Many of my friends who grew up in Omaha and moved away are on a Mission from God to get to La Casa ASAP upon returning for a visit. One friend who moved to Houston even had them ship five pizzas for his granddaughter's birthday! Now, that is serious fanmanship. No complains, all love for La Casa. La Casa has decent pizza, but it is a bit pricey. A large vegetarian combo is $18.49 plus tax. It's not my favorite pizza, but every so often I do eat here. I do like their mostaccioli with marinara sauce. However, for $7.99, it's not that great of a deal for what is essentially just pasta, sauce, and a little cheese. It does come with a dinner salad, but I think they should charge maybe $1 less or something for the vegetarian pastas. The atmosphere inside is decent, and they also have a take-out area. All around, I think La Casa is a fairly average pizza/pasta restaurant, but they do have quite a few vegetarian options available, so it's certainly worth checking out. read more

One of the orders was incorrect but all of our pizza was burnt. It was so overcooked that it was dark black on both sides. This was the worst pizza that I've ever been served. What a waste of money! It is honestly hard for me to believe this place is still open. I live within walking distance of this restaurant and within the seven years I've lived there, I've eaten there three times, last Saturday being the final one. I'm not going to talk about their pizza because I think that is actually decent, although be willing to spend a small fortune on it. I'll try to keep this short and sweet. We had a waiter named Trent??, pretty impersonal, I had been craving chicken parmesan all week and ordered it. When it arrived it was an enormous chicken breast. They have a silly presentation where they actually scoop it from the baking dish onto a plate for you. This is no good for me because I actually like eating the burnt cheese on the baking dish. Cutting through the chicken parmesan required much effort, sort of like a leather shoe. Sure enough the chicken was tough as a piece of rubber. I sent it back and ordered the meat lasagna. 15 minutes later the lasagna arrived, almost hot, which I promptly requested it be left in it's baking dish. The lasagna was Bland and nothing special reminiscent of Stouffer's. It wasn't actually traditional lasagna because it was made with bite-size scalloped noodles instead of traditional flat lasagna noodles. Our water glasses were not refilled very often, and there was a problem with the check where they didn't discount the difference in dinner prices. I'll never go back there read more
