    Alfajores de maizena

WOW! My friend suggested Peruvian food for lunch, and this cuisine might have jumped the ranks on my list of most delicious! If you've never had Peruvian food, there the flavors can be a mix of Asian and Latin (spending on what you get, of course). And what a heavenly mix. The arroz chaufa is a must try. SO good! The ceviche was so fresh, I'm used to shrimp or conch ceviche, and having fish was a game changer. I do wish they had more plantain chips on the dish to eat with, but you can order more as a side. We also had a jar of chicha morada, reminded me of a Caribbean drink from back home. So good!! Staff was also so friendly. Juan took great care of us, and made the meal so much more enjoyable. We ended with alfajores and I highly recommend. What a hidden gem in Richmond hill! Cannot wait to go back.

We've been here a few times, and we love it! We most recently had: - Tallarín saltado with beef (great) - Ceviche dinner portion (great) - Tallarines a la huancaina (good) The mango juice is delish, too. We've only dined in, but a good amount of people picked up orders, so it seems like a good takeout option as well.

Deliciously fresh ! Ambiance is perfectly Peruvian and the place is quaint. Hidden find. The ceviche was super fresh and surprisingly big for a small. Lomo was sooo tender. We will be back! :)

Excellent service. From start to finished the food was delicious. I will be coming back again. Either eat inside or out on the patio

It's great to see some more diversity among the businesses in Richmond Hill! La Casita Peruvian Restaurant (LCPR) is located in the old Baking Sweets Academy, right next to Ella's on Ford Ave. LCPR's official address is on Dogwood Ave, but you can access it from Ford as well. Being naturally curious and having loved Peruvian food in the past, I was really excited to check it out and decided to get some take out for lunch one day. Parking is easy. Private, gravel lot. LCPR has made some great improvements to the interior. They've opened up the space to create a much larger dining area and painted it with bright colors. It has a homey feel with Peruvian decor and brightly colored textiles for tablecloths. Their menu is written on a whiteboard and I'm sure it's update daily according to what they have in stock. I ordered the Beef Lomo Saltado. The beef is cut into cubes and is stir fried with large chunks of onions and tomatoes, served with a big bowl of rice (shaped like the bowl, turned upside down) and French Fries. The Lomo Saltado was well seasoned salt wise, but I am wondering if it is supposed to be cooked with any other spices? I didn't really taste anything else but the beef, along with the veggies that were cooked with it. The one disappointment were the French Fries. I checked out the food pics prior to visiting, and had already decided that I was going to order the Beef Lomo Saltado, so I was under the impression from the other pics that other Yelpers posted that it was served with big, hand cut, uneven chunky potatoes, not fries. The fries that came with my dish seem to be the standard French Fries and did not travel well in the styrofoam take out box. The highlight of my visit were the little Alfajores, a Peruvian cookie. You can find them on display by the cash so keep both eyes peeled! They also had some other homemade desserts in the mini fridge underneath the counter. Going back to the Alfajores though, it's a little sandwich cookie. The cookies are like a very soft, sandy shortbread that are lightly dusted in powdered sugar that melts in your mouth with a very thick, rich chocolate cream in the middle. Almost like a hardened ganache. It was so delicious! I could have had a dozen for lunch! My only wish was that they were bigger! They are priced at $2.50 each and worth every penny. They have a mix of American and Peruvian drinks in a self serve fridge and they also have some grocery items and snacks behind the counter. The lady who took care of us was really nice and the food came out in a timely manner. There is also seating available outside for social distancing. Stay safe, Friends!

I saw this pop up and decided I'd try takeout since I love Peruvian food. It's a bit difficult to find, especially at night. The food was ready fairly quick. The person at the counter just talks to the other people forever and you're stuck waiting a bit to check out or grab your to go boxes. The restaurant was tiny and too many tables all on top of each other with no distance. No one was wearing masks. We ordered the Tallarin Saltado, 1 chicken and 1 beef. It's a pasta dish sautéed with meat, onions, and tomato. My husband and I both thought it was bland. However, the meat was good. The beef was better than the chicken. We also tried the Papa a la huancaina, which is a cold potato appetizer with a bland yellow sauce. I also got 2 Inca Kola and their little cookie pastries with caramel cream in the middle. Those were delicious and I forgot what they are called.

JUST GO! Clean food and excellent flavors of Peru. We were visiting from NJ and we travel to Peru . Good is top notch. We have our complements to everyone. Larissa our server was sweet. Chef Juan was a pleasure and knows how to throw down some good clean delicious Peruvian dishes. Ceviche ... Lomo Steak Saltado and Empanadas ... Were delicious and keeps you full and light afterwards. When we come back, this will be our place to enjoy a nice Lunch/ or dinner.

    * Chaufa = way too much cheap oil, presentation and flavor not good, too much MSG (ajinomoto) , bad for humanity. * Canchita = no salt, flavorless. * Cebiche = great fish, fresh, great flavor, purple onion way too strong, choclo, old, Very bad flavor. * Jalea = very small portion, flavor so so, presentation not good. Staff = great family, you guys have the potential to serve great Peruvian tasty food, come on guys, Peruvian food is rated up high in the world, be proud of your food.

My kids favorite dish of la casita was the salchipapas ,when I put that food in my mouth all the flavor BURSTED into my mouth and the fries are delicioso. The ceviche was also amazing and the Arroz chaufe !! I HIGHLY recommend coming to this restaurant

Authentic Peruvian food. Excellent , well prepared, family business. As the name implies, it's a small house on a back street.

My first time ever had tears and I am finally here for happy hour. They do a happy hour from 4 to 6…read moredaily. I got the house margarita for $5.50 and then I also got an L pastor taco for five dollars as well as the fresh chips and also for $1 dollar. I'm not sure you can beat this pricing for happy hours after work!! A gentleman behind the bar is very knowledgeable about his menu and what is on the happy hour menu. The ambience in here feels like a mom and pop Spanish restaurant. They have a patio lighting as well as a really cool mural. They have some use of reclaimed wood and different types of furniture. I haven't gotten my food yet, but I like this vibe. It's very chill and relaxed. They have all of their tequilas out behind the bar so you can see which ones they have. The only downside is the way they taste has their drinks to make sure they're the correct tasting wise. The gentleman in the baseball cap and the other gentleman pour the drink onto the back of their hand, and then put their hands in their mouth to taste the drink and I feel like they could just do the straw method because what if their fingers that they're using to shake your drink with I just it's kind of like disgusting to watch. 10/10 Definitely returning for the drinks and sitting at a table next time!!!
