I'd heard so many wonderful things about Marker 107, so we chose it to celebrate my brother's 19th birthday. Unfortunately, I left feeling pretty underwhelmed. The service was inconsistent from the start. The hostess seemed distracted and lacked the basic customer service skills I'd expect as the first impression. It wasn't very busy (a Wednesday evening), but our first waitress was slow and seemed scatterbrained. A second waitress then tried to deliver drinks we never ordered before a third waitress eventually took over and stayed with our table. The fried green tomatoes were good, but not worth the price in my opinion. The cheese bread dip was definitely unique, though not something I'd order again. I ordered the filet mignon, and while it was decent, it wasn't memorable enough to justify the cost. Someone in our party ordered the shrimp and grits and was given a coated cardboard takeout container, which felt odd considering the price point of the restaurant. The waterfront scenery is beautiful and was honestly the highlight of the evening. Inside, however, the restaurant was fairly plain with wooden beams, basic wooden furniture, and dim lighting. Overall, the experience simply didn't match the reputation or the prices. With so many other great seafood restaurants in the area, I don't see myself returning. read more

I will preface this with we are new to this area. We've heard good things about this restaurant so I was expecting a bit more. It was our first time at marker 107. The waitress needed a little more training after she couldn't answer a couple of our questions and said I don't know it's my second day. Overall Food was decent, had the fish. It was Cooked a little too much. presentation was decent. Restaurant got pretty busy. Overall, nothing was bad, but nothing was great either. That's why I'm giving it a three. read more

We've dined here a few times & kept hoping it would get better. The service is consistently slow. The food is okay.. as my mom put it "the fried shrimp tasted like it's from captain D's." This is all about setting the right expectation. We went for a special occasion and purchased two of the seafood dishes that were on special for $40 each. Both were overcooked and missed the mark. Wine was expensive and limited in selection. The service was excellent and the staff extremely friendly. The menu had several fried seafood selections and handhelds. My recommendation is to go here for the basic dishes and leave the gourmet seafood dishes to another restaurant with a proper chef. Recently tried this place for the first time and it was great! It's about 25 minutes from the what might be considered the "hub" of Richmond Hill. It's located on the water with beautiful sunsets, we had to sit inside due to the chilly weather but the patio looked great to dine on. The food was really good, we had the okra, shrimp and grits, and the chicken dish. The place was very clean, modern, and had plentiful seating. It did take us a little bit to get our food, even the appetizers but still enjoyed our whole dinner experience. We would definitely come back for more dinners! read more

They wouldn't let my friends stop for one night to avoid a hurricane and they almost died last night! My friends begged them and offered to pay double but they called the police trespassed them. First visit. Had looked forward to going. Difficult to be objective after waiting over 1 1/2 hours for a meal especially since I had made a reservation. The restaurant did not seem to be at capacity based on the number of empty tables seen. We were seated promptly, order was taken, drinks arrived, but then..... Server kept saying, "kitchen is backed up." When food did arrive it was decent, not wow - 3 stars for food. I was mostly embarrassed that I chose this restaurant for the 4 of us and subjected my friends to my choice. And, finally, if the shrimp I was served was actually local wild Georgia shrimp, I will gladly pay for my dinner again. I can tell the difference. Its a coastal Georgia restaurant. Heard the food and service were good, so took a chance. It Took 5 minutes for the Hostess to come and greet us. Hostess job is to be at front at all times, unless seating another party. My wife and I both ordered the SheCrab soup which was very bland. Seafood dip was also bland and not good at all. I ordered the Shrimp and grits which were not seasoned at all, (nothing seasoned properly). Wife ordered grilled shrimp tacos (3 shrimp came in each) NOT GRILLED, Boiled. The best thing we ate was the Pita bread that came with the seafood dip. Overpriced for what you get. I don't mind paying $50-100 per person for a good meal and service, but this place is not worth the trip or money spent! When leaving the parking lot was completely dark. Not 1 light in area. Could not see a thing, this is after it rained and the steps and ramp were slippery. We could have gotten a better meal elsewhere and wish we did. We will never go back here. read more

Wow, I haven't been here in years and this place was amazing tonight. I went with my Aunt nt and Uncle and I had the shrimp and grits and we also shared the fried green tomatoes which were so good. The restaurant was busy and the customer service was phenomenal. The ambiance is so cozy and so nice. It's located on the Kilkenny Marina. We went at nighttime and it's busy on Saturdays. A Negative star would be more accurate. The food was absolutely terrible. The Cesar salad should be removed from the menu, it's that bad. Parker's makes a better salad... no joke. The pan crusted chicken with pasta was not tasty. The fish appetizer was mediocre and very small portion. The one thing that was great was the sweet potato fries.. very crispy and well done. The Pink Bikini drink was not as described, could not taste the amaretto, more like cool aid. I was told that the Old fashioned was good. The atmosphere was as expected no complaints. We used to go to Market for all our special occasions: birthdays, anniversaries, promotions, etc. Now we don't even consider it. The previous head chef left several years ago and the meal quality has severely declined. The kitchen gets horribly backed up and the crew is understaffed. It's a real shame. This place is located in a very secluded area of Richmond Hill. The atmosphere was really spooky with the willows and the sea shell pathway. It would be a blast to go here on Halloween. The actual restaurant has a log cabin feel and has both indoor and semi-outdoor seating. We chose to sit outside for the view on a cold December night. They do have portable heaters and a fireplace but it was still really cold. The food was outstanding. The she-crab soup was the highlight for me. It was chock full of crab and had a subtle taste. For my main I had shrimp and grits which was as good as any other place I had it. (i.e. a bit less memorable than the soup) Friendly service and just a tad high in price. It's definitely worth going back to try some of the other dishes that my group had. read more

We recently had a bad experience. Changed our vacation plans around and got a reservation. Day before, they texted us to confirm our reservation. Morning of, they texted us to confirm our reservation. Drove 30+ minutes that evening to their location on to find a note on the door that due to power outage they were closed. Multiple lights were on and cars were in the employee parking lot. Drove the 30+ minutes back very upset and disappointed. They should have called or texted us given we had a reservation and have done nothing since to reach out to us. Poor management. read more

I thought this restaurant was a little more fancy , but servers wearing jeans and t shirts, so no need to dress up. Ordered seafood platter $34 - seafood was bland and batter was soft, not crisp , sides were average. Family ordered the burger which was the best of our meals. Fried flounder $29 was dry and bland too. Food was overpriced for amount and quality received. Tasted similar to Fish Tales, but much higher price. The area is gorgeous. Hard to find more scenic spot for dinner. I would recommend trying to sit on screened in area (admittedly I haven't yet been able to, but always want to when I'm there.) reservations can be made very simply online. Now to the food. The seafood dip is ridiculous. It's rich and creamy with junks of seafood. The bread bowl is the perfect pairing to dip Into the perfect seafood concoction. The hamburger while not the most exotic item on the menu was delicious. The scallions were like butter almost dissolving in your mouth. I would highly recommend you try marker 107 at least once you won't be disappointed. read more

Delicious food but the best part was the staff. I also enjoyed the view on the water. My server was Allie and she made sure to check in on us and was attentive. I thought she did a great job. She had one arm in a sling bc it was broken...and she was still working. The day we went there was a large party, like 30 people, and I could tell the staff worked as a team to get them served. But also, it did not take away from the level of service given to me. Apps: tried she-crab soup. It was good but was a little water, very salty, very crabby, but not too much crab or visible eggs. I don't think I would get it again. The Southern Dip that comes in a bread bowl is the bomb. I could eat that every day. Great if you like crab. Entree: Fried platter, choice of 2. I picked fried oysters and fried shrimp. The breading is not salty so the flavor comes from the dipping sauce :) Seafood was plentiful and delicious. They also offer a Similar platter where you can get the third option too (fried flounder). It comes with two sides and they were good. Dessert: they had several options but I was too full to fully enjoy. I got the key lime pie which hit the spot. I think it is store-bought/frozen bc the pie filling was so dense. We went here around 745 tonight, on a Friday. I tried to see if they took reservations on open table or Yelp and they don't. You should probably call ahead and request a table outside with a marsh view. It was really cold inside. We got the okra fries for an appetizer and enjoyed them. My husband got the she crab soup, I thought it needed to be more creamy. I got a house salad. It was lacking the veggies, mostly just lettuce. The dill ranch was good. We both ordered the Mahi with lump crab meat & it was spectacular. Very fresh, cooked to perfection. We opted for the gluten free brownie for dessert, which was very fudgy. The food was awful. The oysters were burned and the portion sizes were meant for a child's menu. The waitress did not take our order until we finished our appetizer. The meal took an hour to receive. Other customers came in ordered, ate and left before ours arrived. Our drink glasses were refilled once. we sat through dinner with no refills. Our waitress wouldn't come out to our table because she knew we had watched others eat and leave. She told us they were served first because we were a large party. Six does not make a large party. The manager was in the kitchen and would not come out to discuss this. meal overall was horrible. The gnats were so bad we have helps all over us today from last nights meal. I have to admit that driving to this place felt like we were in the middle of nowhere. What a pleasant surprise when you finally get there! The scenery is beautiful and the ambience is great. I was with a large party and we shared appetizers. The fried green tomatoes were the best! My friends had the mahi and shrimp and grits which they loved. I was pleasantly surprised to find a vegetarian dish on the dinner and really enjoyed the black eyed pea burger. I highly recommend this place. First of all, the location cannot be beat! Right on the river, and even though it was blazing hot in South Georgia, we sat outside where there was a great breeze off the water. The food is delicious, and the wait staff are awesome. I had this special which was corvina, which I liked a lot. But I'm a sucker for Brussels sprouts, and they were completely awesome on this dish. If you're outside and get dessert, plan on eating quickly. Things melt fast! read more

I went to Marker 107 (M1) for the first time last month, but I couldn't make a proper assessment then, since I was only there to drop in to say a quick goodbye. It was a rough night, as I had to say farewell to two friends that night, who were moving away. I managed to slurp down a She-Crab Soup and a water before I had to zip to Savannah. This time, it was for a more joyous occasion, celebrating a friend's birthday! - Parking - Private lot. Gravel, not paved and ample parking. - Vibe - This is one of those places that I had heard great things about, but I was consistently told about the view. So here I thought, hmmmm, but is the food good? Nice view is great, but to me, the view ain't worth crap if the food isn't good. Well, I was pleasantly surprised and I'm happy to report that they are win-win on both aspects. The drive is down the never ending 144 and then you turn where you see their sign. Then you're like, am I at the right place? Why am I at a trailer park? But keep going and then, ta-da! The restaurant is right by the water, surrounded by some old, dreamy oak trees draped in Spanish Moss. You'll have to walk up the stairs to enter the restaurant and get to the reception. The whole restaurant is all wood, simple and rustic. We have been seated both times on their screened-in deck with a view of the water and let me tell you, that view is absolutely beautiful! The only thing is the screen prevents the view from being crystal clear, but don't complain. It's either the screen or those dang bugs! I should have really taken the time to go out back and take in more of the view, so I'll have to do that next time. The last time I was there, I saw dolphins jumping in the water! It was the best-EST! I can see why M1 is popular among couples, families and large groups! - TLC - Our waitress, Julia (I believe), was sweet as a Georgia Peach. Come to think of it, I think she took care of us on my first visit last month too. Both times, we have been a similar group size (approx. 15 people) and she was really sweet and took care of all our requests. This time, a few of the ladies ordered coffee and it turned out to be "cold and old" as one friend put it, LOL. When we told her, she apologized and immediately made a fresh pot and then didn't even charge them for it. I thought that was such a nice gesture. - Eats/Refreshments - She Crab Soup - I had this on my first visit. I thought it was fine. It had good flavor, but I think I would have preferred it a bit more creamy. Low Country Seafood Dip - A friend let me taste this and it was yum! It's served in a sourdough bread bowl and quite frankly, this could be a meal in itself, so just make sure to share it (I know, it's hard sometimes), or else you won't have room for the main course! Sweet Tea - this is not a proper Sweet Tea of the South that I have grown to like. It was tea, but either the person making it is not a sweet tooth or they just ran out of sugar. Seared Scallops - This was absolutely fantastic! There were about four scallops (2 mid-sized and 2 larger ones) seared and pan fried to perfection topped with bits of bacon and fresh scallions. It came with a bamboo pick with a wedge of lemon and a pickled okra. I definitely could have used more of that okra! That's one of the veggies I am thankful for in the South! I don't know why people don't like it. I've never had it pickled and it was great! The Scallops come with steamed Carolina gold rice with lemon butter and sautéed green beans. Everything was scrumptious and I enjoyed every bit of it! Nutella Mousse - This was great! Tasted exactly like, yes, you guessed it, Nutella, HA! Topped with Oreo cookie crumbs and drizzled with chocolate syrup. The only thing is, and this is probably no fault to the restaurant, I think the heat and humidity from the outdoor deck just killed the mousse! It was pretty much melted and instead of having the airy bubbles that is characteristic of a mousse, it was almost like room temp melted ice cream. Note to self: I think I will opt for a different dessert next time or try this again in the winter months if it stays on the menu. My friends had the Honey Corn Cake with Candied Pecans and it was tasty! Overall, friends ordered a lot of different dishes and they all looked well prepared and everyone seemed to enjoy their food. - Kiddos - Both visits were kid-free, so I am not sure if they have a Kids specific menu or not since I didn't have the need for it. I did see several families passing by with young children, so I am sure there was something for them to eat. I noticed that they were equipped with high chairs, FYI. Another great restaurant in Richmond Hill that definitely makes it a worthwhile, culinary destination that has a kicka$$ view AND great food! read more

A memorable meal and deliciously prepared bounty of the sea is what you'll find at Marker 107. Their crab packed, crab cake is one of the best you'll ever eat! This restaurant on Kilkenney Creek, and nextdoor to Kilkenney marina, has a long screened in porch for dining, as well as, interior seating. For starters, we shared a cup of crab stew and a crab cake. Both were Devine! Marker 107's crab cake is heavy on jumbo lump crab and void of filler! It's fantastic! On this slow February evening, my husband and I shared the Grey Ghost ($39) which is basically a captains platter for two. It was served on a large platter and had flounder, shrimp, oysters and a lump jumbo crab cake - fantastic! Their sauces, horseradish and tartar, have the right amount of kick and the tartar sauce does not contain sweet pickle. My husband ordered a key lime pie, and it was served with a raspberry sauce drizzle. Did he share? I will return soon with my seafood loving family! read more

We dropped by with out a reservation. When we called, we were told that they wouldn't guarantee a patio table. I'll put it out there, we believe in wearing masks to protect others, not just ourselves. We were glad to see the staff wearing masks. We waited only 10 minutes to be seated. Our order was taken quickly, but it was a bit of a wait from when we were seated until we received food, 45 minutes, but it was worth it. The food was phenomenal. Crab cake starter, best we've had since leaving Massachusetts. Salad was fresh and crispy. Steak filet was perfectly cooked as requested, with potatoes and green beans. Shrimp was good.
