    Steak fajitas

This specific La Casita is my absolute favorite place to get steak fajitas. I don't know what they put in them, but they are addicting ;-) Their fajitas are full of perfectly marinated steak, and they really grill their vegetables... almost to a char, which is what I love! This is the only thing I have ever ordered there because THEY ARE SO HOOD! I can't tell you about anything on their menu, but I can vouch for their steak fajitas!!!

It was my first time at La Casita, and I was impressed. I ordered the avocado chicken salad, and when it came out, I was not ready for how massive the plate was . This thing was loaded! Juicy chicken, perfectly ripe avocado, super fresh veggies. And can we talk about the vibe? The whole place has this fun, tropical tiki feel--super chill and colorful. It made the experience even better. Huge shoutout to Ana--she was so sweet and welcoming. She made me feel like I'd been coming there for years. Great service really makes a difference, and she crushed it. Definitely coming back. Next time I might even try to finish the whole plate!

Oh, La Casita, tucked right off Hwy 10 in Palm Desert, what a hidden treasure you are! Every single dish here is like a delightful little surprise--bursting with freshness, flavor, and a warmth that only a place that truly loves its food can deliver. I can't think of a single thing I've tried that I didn't instantly fall in love with. prices are affordable, even better than most Mexican restaurants around here serving the same fabulous dishes. It's pure value for the money, plain and simple. Just a few steps away, there's Cups Cafe, a darling little spot locals adore, especially for breakfast. Though not Mexican, it's known and loved by so many for its charm and unbeatable prices. Together, these two gems offer a world of tasty options in one cozy plaza. A visit to La Casita feels like a true treat, and with such deliciousness at such a fair price, I just keep coming back for more.

Been coming here for years. First time i noticed an upcharge for using a debit/credit card. When i questioned it the waitress said it was on the menu. When i asked her to show me she said she'd change the bill but its on the door. After i asked her to show me she pointed out a small sign that said an extra charge would be added to the bill. Not mentioning if you pay cash or credit/debit. If your gonna make me pay an up charge put it on a sign people can see. To top it off their tip calculations are with tax. This type of stuff pisses me off. Be honest. Food is ok. I just like the atmosphere. And it has nothing to do with price. Its just the sneakiness. Tiny signs. And tipping suggestions with tax included. I support local businesses, so I'll give my money to Carmen's.

Very bad fajitas inside La Casita Restaurant

Worst Mexican restaurant we've ever been to! Two nights ago my wife and I tried this restaurant. We split Steak and Chicken Fajitas. Clearly the food must have been cooked earlier (probably much earlier) and then reheated. The steak was very obviously low grade beef to start with. (See picture.) I didn't eat much of it but when I got home I ate some Good and Plenty candies to get rid of the taste. After starting the meal I realized that the customary guac, sour cream and pico that normally comes with fajitas weren't on the table. Asked the waitress and she said that they don't serve it unless asked for because some people don't like it. BS! If true, wait person should proactively ask. When it came it was a minimal portion presented unappetizingly with the sour cream dab thrown on the guac. Horrible. Cost was much more than the excellent Mexican Restaurant at the other end of the strip of shops. I absolutely don't recommend this place. This is the harshest review that I've ever written.

My daughter and I stood at the entrance for several minutes without being greeted. During that time, the manager was visibly overwhelmed and speaking harshly to the young hostesses, who appeared uncomfortable and trying to maintain composure. Despite this, no one acknowledged us until I offered a friendly "Happy Cinco de Mayo," at which point a hostess kindly stepped in to seat us. Unfortunately, the situation escalated. Twice, as we were being seated, the manager abruptly intervened -- placing reserved signs down and yelling at the hostess, myself and daughter we could not sit there. His tone was harsh, dismissive, and unnecessarily confrontational. This happened two times at two different tables that we were escorted to by the hostess and in front of my young daughter. Needless to say it was both uncomfortable and humiliating. I have never experienced a restaurant manager behave with this level of disrespect toward a guest, especially a woman with her child. I felt embarrassed and heartbroken that my daughter had to witness this. When I calmly approached him to understand the situation, he responded by stating they had "400 reservations," followed by dismissive and aggressive body language that made it clear we were not welcome. The interaction ended with us leaving and both tears. My daughter said "I'm scared mommy, why was that man so mean". A guest from the restaurant who was dinning and witnessed the incident came out just to see if we were ok. Equally concerning was how he treated his own staff, especially female staff setting a negative and unprofessional tone throughout the front of house. As someone from a fourth-generation family in the restaurant industry, I find this especially disheartening. I would be deeply concerned if any manager in our organization treated a guest or employees this way. I understand holidays are demanding, but being busy does not excuse a lack of basic respect and professionalism. I am sharing this in hopes that upper management addresses this directly. No woman / person and her child should have to experience this kind of treatment.

Since moving here some nine months ago I've eaten at a dozen or so. Some OK. Most very good, some great and even one awful. Guadalajara Café & Bar is an absolute stand out. It's my new go to spot. I knew I was in a good place when I saw how many people walked in and were clearly known to the staff as regulars. The decor is simple, clean and you can see the cooks working through the busy pass through. Plenty of parking. The chips are fresh, crispy and lightly salted. The salsa is outstanding with the right amount of heat. It was lunch time and I'm not much for alcohol so I didn't try any of the drink offerings this visit... next time! Between two of us we ordered the fish tacos which were excellent. Also had the chili relleno which, unless I'm mistaken was battered and fried when ordered, not left sitting waiting to be ordered, huge difference! And the sauce on the relleno was perfect. Also had the mole enchilada with it. Again, unless I'm mistaken the mole was made fresh in house and was the best I've had in a long time. The waitstaff was great efficient, attentive and made sure we were happy. And were they hustling! Busy place and they didn't miss a thing. Five stars across the board food, staff, venue... even pricing! To quote a famous movie line, "I'll be back" Sorry no photos, I was too busy eating LOL.
