The rice taste boring and the beans and cheese from the burrito taste weird. the taquitos had no flavor. the waitress was kinda rude. The tortilla was wrapped wrong and the burrito fell apart so easy. There was nobody in the restaurant but the atmosphere was actually kind of nice. read more

First time coming here! We visited on Monday 2/9 for one of our friend's birthdays! The service was great and they weren't super busy. The food was great! We all got a mixture of tacos and enchiladas and they have great chips and salsa! Would definitely recommend. read more

This specific La Casita is my absolute favorite place to get steak fajitas. I don't know what they put in them, but they are addicting ;-) Their fajitas are full of perfectly marinated steak, and they really grill their vegetables... almost to a char, which is what I love! It was my first time at La Casita, and I was impressed. I ordered the avocado chicken salad, and when it came out, I was not ready for how massive the plate was . This thing was loaded! Juicy chicken, perfectly ripe avocado, super fresh veggies. And can we talk about the vibe? The whole place has this fun, tropical tiki feel--super chill and colorful. It made the experience even better. Huge shoutout to Ana--she was so sweet and welcoming. She made me feel like I'd been coming there for years. Great service really makes a difference, and she crushed it. Definitely coming back. Next time I might even try to finish the whole plate! read more

** DISABLED PERSONS WITH A SERVICE ANIMAL BEWARE ** I have a service dog for PTSD. My party of five family members attempted to have dinner at La Casita Mexican Restaurant last night. When we arrived I was approached in a very confrontational manner by I believe her was Melissa or something close to that. She asked me if my boy was a service dog and what services he is trained to provide. I explained that he provides support for PTSD which should have been the end of the encounter. Unfortunately, she got in my face and started raising her voice to the point other diners were taking notice demanding that I go into detail of exactly he is trained to do. The encounter eventually resulted in her refusing me access to the dining area. I left my party there as everyone was hungry and went home. As you can imagine this encounter was the trigger for a very uncomfortable evening. So moral of the story if you have a disability that isn't apparent (wheelchair &etc) this is not an establishment I would recommend. read more

I was a little skeptical about coming in here but I'm so glad I did. The food was delicious. I had the steak ranchero and it was bomb!! Rice and beans are yummy. Guac is yummy. The ranchero sauce was super good, just needed a liiiiiiiiittle bit of salt. My boyfriend had the chicken flautas and wow delicious!! I loved that they were generous with the portions. The flautas were nice and thick not no skinny tortilla. The chicken was seasoned as well. We both had the Cadillac margarita which gave us a nice buzz. My only complaint was that it was just a little too citrusy and not cadillacy but I still liked it! Overall a good Mexican food spot in PD. I would definitely go again! read more

Been coming here for years. First time i noticed an upcharge for using a debit/credit card. When i questioned it the waitress said it was on the menu. When i asked her to show me she said she'd change the bill but its on the door. After i asked her to show me she pointed out a small sign that said an extra charge would be added to the bill. Not mentioning if you pay cash or credit/debit. If your gonna make me pay an up charge put it on a sign people can see. To top it off their tip calculations are with tax. This type of stuff pisses me off. Be honest. Food is ok. I just like the atmosphere. And it has nothing to do with price. Its just the sneakiness. Tiny signs. And tipping suggestions with tax included. I support local businesses, so I'll give my money to Carmen's. read more

FYI: One order of chips & salsa for the table. Otherwise, you pay $2.50 for each extra order even if they don't tell you that refilling the chips and/or salsa will result in a charge of the full $2.50. Didn't even know of the charge, now you do. We asked for more chips & our salsa was almost gone but when the lady dropped off the chips she didn't offer salsa but we still had to pay for it. Had I known that we were going to get charged for the set, I would've not struggled getting the rest of the salsa out by tipping the bowl to the side, I would've requested what they were going to charge me for. YOU'VE BEEN WARNED. It's apparently written in a paragraph on the front of the menu... Who looks at that? Anyways, the food was delicious... We had fajitas and shrimp... Very yummy. The chips and salsa are tasty. The rice & beans and guacamole and pico de gallo are very yummy. Service was lacking a bit. The guy smelled like he was sick and had a vicks cough drop in his mouth. Not exactly what patron of a food establishment want to smell. He was friendly though but had to be asked to refill the sodas. When I noticed that we were charged $2.50 for "Chips and Salsa", I asked about it and was asked if we ordered a refill. I told the nice young gal that we asked for more chips but weren't told of the charge or else I would've ordered the salsa that we were charged for & had to paid for unknowingly to us. She didn't care. So, because I care that anyone reading this not get charged if you don't have to for something that's always been included. I still plan on going back. Food was good, ambience was also as well. There could've been a bit more service & communication on the servers part. Also, when restaurants put the tipping amounts based on the total plus taxes, I find it pretty annoying and this place does that. :/ I'm usually generous but this irks me to no end. Not only does it wrongly teach the servers to expect tips based on the total plus the tax on it that they didn't do anything to deserve a tip for but it makes a generous tip look less than based on the wrong calculation. Go visit Tommy Bahamas & check their suggested tips section. They've got it right unlike so many places nowadays. Maybe I'll note it in my upcoming reviews whether the establishment does the calculation correctly or not. I might even make a list of these good restaurants just to avoid little annoyances LOL read more

Worst Mexican restaurant we've ever been to! Two nights ago my wife and I tried this restaurant. We split Steak and Chicken Fajitas. Clearly the food must have been cooked earlier (probably much earlier) and then reheated. The steak was very obviously low grade beef to start with. (See picture.) I didn't eat much of it but when I got home I ate some Good and Plenty candies to get rid of the taste. After starting the meal I realized that the customary guac, sour cream and pico that normally comes with fajitas weren't on the table. Asked the waitress and she said that they don't serve it unless asked for because some people don't like it. BS! If true, wait person should proactively ask. When it came it was a minimal portion presented unappetizingly with the sour cream dab thrown on the guac. Horrible. Cost was much more than the excellent Mexican Restaurant at the other end of the strip of shops. I absolutely don't recommend this place. This is the harshest review that I've ever written. read more

Wife had the Taco Salad, I had the chili Verde burrito, service was fast and food was fresh, The Salsa was very Mild, the pork in my burrito was slightly dry and there was no heat in the green sauce, Wife's taco salad had only a small portion of meat and was mostly lettuce, the food was OK but nothing special and with the lack of spice in any of the salsa or Verde sauce makes the food fairly bland. Price was about $40 with tax and tip. Probably would pick another resturant next time we are in an area. read more

Terrible. Zero stars! Asked for a booth and was told they were parties of 5 or more, we had 4. So they sat us right in front of the door, so everytime the door opened we were hit with the cold air from outside. Not even 15 minutes later a family of 4 came in and they sat them at a booth. WTF?? I brought a canned Dr. Pepper in with me and the waitress said she was going to have to charge me for it or throw it away. Ordered a chicken chimichanga and the waitress submitted the order as a grilled chicken chimichanga. Disgusting!! Then she upcharged me additional money for it being grilled chicken. I demanded my money back and she was irritated because she couldn't credit my credit card back she had to give me cash. She was absolutely rude the entire time!! I'm sure she was surprised to see there was absolutely no tip either. Her failure to provide any amount of good service caused that. Her problem not mine. read more

We used to come here often. We slowly drifted away in favor of other Mexican restaurants in the area. We really couldn't remember why, but we hadn't been here in years. Nothing special about the food, good, solid Mexican food, but not WOW! Chips and salsa were okay. I had chillaquiles with pork and green sauce. It was tasty, but again not wow. My wife had chicken flautas, run-of-the-mill. I had a beer, she had a Malibu/diet Coke. I got the bill and I remembered why we stopped coming. It was always something that would arise whenever we dined here. In this case, it was the bill. There was a receipt for me to sign (credit card) and my copy. But I dug further and found the itemized bill. On it was a double shot of premium alcohol. Obviously, my beer wasn't a shot. But, her Malibu, whether premium or not, I don't know, I wouldn't think so, but no one asked for a double shot. That drink $20. It was a simple rum and diet Coke for pete's sake. Certainly wasn't a heavy pour by any means (you can see Malibu with diet Coke on top because they don't blend unless manually stirred). I believe they were trying to pull a fast one; First by charging me for a double premium cocktail, and then by burying the itemized bill beneath the other paperwork. In any case, it was just too mediocre to put up with a glitch every single time we eat here. Gonna drift away again to one of the, literally hundreds, of Mexican restaurants in the valley. read more

We were here 5 min before closing and the polite waitress let us in. We ordered 3 tacos and one chicken fajitas all I can say 'delicious'. We took our time eating and was not pressured to leave the bill was not given until we completed or dinner amazing. We will definitely come again as we live close by. read more

We have been looking four our new "go-to" Mexican Restaurant in the desert. We have tried several restaurants in the area. By far the best is La Casita in Palm Desert. The food quality is excellent, good service from our server Maricella, and fun atmosphere. We love the Japapeno Margarita! We have dined on the Sampler plate, Enchiladas Verdes, and the Meat Burritos. The guacamole is delicious. The booths are comfortable and private for conversation. Great service and food! Went as a hangover cure after a weekend festival and it hit the spizot! We had the wet burrito with pork and chile verde sauce as well as the huevos machaca. Both were amazing!! So flavorful and juicy. Their salsa was fresh and tasty and went well with the chips. Their spicy salsa though, that was YUMMMM! Took the rest to-go and I was happy during round 2 as well. My server was really kind and quick. I'd definitely come back here next time I'm in town! read more

What an amazing find! I drive past this restaurant at least 2 times a week and have always made a mental note to try it out. I'm so happy I did. The ambience is amazing and the staff is friendly from the second you walk in until you leave. The food was AMAZING and came out so fast. Of course I had to try their Cadillac margarita which was the perfect amount of tequila and margarita to make me want another. Ana was my server and she was amazing. The food and service was good, however when I got my bill there was a cash and credit price, almost 4% difference. I'm not happy but they should list on the menu cash/credit price and not just on a little sign where you check in..... if you're going to charge a different price just disclose it openly on the menu. We were needed a family style sit down Mexican food place to go to after a tournament at Freedom Park. This place got the bill. Everything was great but a special shout out for the carnitas nachos.
