The physical menu is fairly small, however the chef showed me an expanded menu on his phone. Service: Everyone was really friendly and helpful! I saw this place on Nextdoor and it had good reviews so thought we would try it. I agree with some of the comments where is everybody? The chips were fresh and we ate all of them and she brought us more. Normally I'd never keep eating chips, but they were good. They have miscellaneous salsa you can choose from. The food is good and fresh freshly made. They were out of Carnitas except for the taquitos. So my husband and I each had the taquitos cause we wanted Carnitas. They had a little bit of avocado sauce and sour cream sauce would've liked a little bit more. Not a very big menu, some of the specials looked good with steak tacos, etc. Everybody was very friendly and of course, since it wasn't crowded, we didn't have any issues ordering. They had the beers we liked. My husband had a Pacifico and I had a corona. We will be back, I just hope they get a little bit bigger menu and not run out of Carnitas. Highly recommend if you're feeling like amazing Mexican/latin American food! The homemade tortillas are amazing and listening to the owners story about how he perfected the recipe was super interesting. You can tell he truly cares about his product and customers! I had the mole enchiladas with chicken and my fiancé had the birria burrito (wet) -it even had delicious veggies in it! Having lived in numerous Latin American countries in my youth I can say this is more Latinish than Mexican but still provided a perfect ribeye cheese steak sandwich. My husband and I decided to go there for lunch today and it was DELICIOUS! I got the El Rellano Chili with pork plate that came with fresh roasted vegetables and rice and beans. Everything tasted so fresh and authentic. My husband got the Las Enchiladas plate. They make their own tortillas and chips which really makes such a huge difference! Our waitress was so sweet and welcoming and our food was made to order and came out so fast! We met the owner and he was so nice and appreciative of our compliments. Based on the great reviews from my neighbors, I went for dinner at La Pizca this evening, and was astounded to find myself and my partner the only people having a meal at about 7:30 PM. Another couple came in about a half hour later, but otherwise this large and lovely space was unoccupied! The food was incredibly good in every respect - wonderful fresh vegetables and slow cooked delicious meat and chicken with homemade blue corn tortillas and homemade chips and salsa. This is definitely a step up from any other local Mexican American restaurant with a focus on Huacan flavors and fresh, to order cooking. The portions were huge. Completely reasonable prices. Great selection of Mexican and American beer plus fruity drinks etc. Perfectly clean; perfect smiling service. Not your typical Mexican fare! Here, we found Amazing mexican food using recipes from Oaxaca. We had the best burrito of our lives! - a wet-style burrito covered in house-made mole sauce. We chose pork carnitas as the protein- but there are 5 other choices. You can leave it vegetarian if you prefer. It's packed with sweet potatoes, cauliflower & Squash. Topped with pickled onions & a bit of mexican creama. It's a big one- so it's a good entree to share! We'd happily come again for this special. They should really add it to the daily fare. The amazing vegetables, such as sweet potatoes, mushrooms, and a variety of other garden delights are not described in the menu. The seasoning is very sophisticated. This was our first time visiting the restaurant, and we will definitely be returning soon the chef came out to let us know. He had other things prepared in the back, which were not on the menu. Basically, we tasted almost everything that he specially prepared that day I didn't take a picture of it, but he made a yellow posole, which was hands-down one of the best poles I've ever eaten. You didn't need to put any thing on it to make it taste better such as Chile lime cabbages it was perfectly seasoned my whole family enjoyed the meal and we are looking forward to coming back and the waitress and the chef were very welcoming. Wow! This is my new favorite restaurant in the area! You can tell that it's new, but already the establishment feels more loved than it did previously. The service was sweet, we were waited on by two younger girls who were attentive and friendly. They got us seated right away with water and chips and salsa. This is my new favorite restaurant in Arroyo Grande! The chef made me some salmon tacos which normally aren't on their menu. The tacos were made fajita style with some amazing seasoning with garlic, onions ,peppers and what ever the chef added. These were not your typical fish tacos but made with the chefs local knowledge taken from his home country. Best fish tacos I ever had. I will definitely be coming back. After seeing the posts about La Pizca and seeing the mole chicken wings, I knew I had to try them. They were perfectly cooked, nice and crispy, and the mole sauce had just the right texture and spice. Not too thick. We also ordered a pork tamale. The masa was so fluffy, not grainy at all and plenty of filling. Last, the carne asada enchiladas. Whole slices of tender meat, not chopped. The tortillas were so fresh and the sauce was perfect.
