Its an intimately small place with booth type seating with only one larger table seating roughly 6 to 7 if you squeeze tight lol. Street parkings available and its open late, so the community often frequent this restaurant during late hours, meaning it can get really packed and you might have to stand out in the middle if you wait to be seated. Expect it to be loud and rowdy, patrons to be inebriated, but overall good vibes (most of the time..) Despite the busyness, service is still amazing and food comes out quickly. Coyotes has always been one of my favorite hole in the wall Mexican food places. I usually get the taco dinner and as you can see I couldn't wait before I snapped a picture of my food lol. I enjoyed their steak and pork tacos. Which are both pitched below. I also really enjoy their quesadilla with steak, which is also equally tasty. I'm not a huge fan of being so I usually do double rice but I've always enjoyed their Riece. Smh this restaurant always got some going on, on messing up my orders. Ordered some cebollitas to go, and torta de milanesa de res and as soon as I get home they gave me an asada and didn't give me the cebollitas. Called them back to see if I can get a refund in the cebollitas at least regardless that they messed up on the torta as well, but was put on hold and told they'll call me back once the amount order of cebollitas was put back in my account and didn't even bother to call back. Mind you I even told them that they could've kept the tip I gave them, I should've even ask for the tip back. SMH. read more

The Green Room Tap recommended Coyote over some of the closer food options, so we took a walk. Small diner type setup, prompt friendly service. The prices on the menu were the first thing that stood out, more expensive than I was expecting. The food quality is the same as most mexican restaurants like this, nothing fancy, basic issue. You want good tacos you go to Pilsen! I've been to a half dozen places here but I really like Coyotes! The carne asada and pollo is perfectly cooked! Standard cilantro and onion perfection. Great service and full belly. They also have the Senorial Sangria I like that not everybody has. Reminds me of eating tacos as a kid at my old friend's family restaurant. Love ordering the Combinacion Coyote to get a dinner variety (sope, tostada and taco with your choice of meat) with rice and beans! VALUE. A great late night place for when everything else is closed. However the prices always remind me why I don't go there that often. I feel like I can have similar/better quality tacos elsewhere for the same price. I go because they are open late. I also don't like how small the print is on the menu where it tells you that tips are already included for parties of 4+. The first few times I went, I missed this. Which I'm happy for the waiters, but I spent a lot of money. I don't mind the policy, I just wish it was more noticeable so I would know I was already being charged the tip on an already big check. The ambiance is okay. During the day it's usually pretty chill but on weekend nights it can get pretty packed. Delivery Review! I have heard good things about Coyotes over the years and have had it bookmarked for quite some time. When Cinco de Mayo rolled around while we were quarantined, I knew I wanted to support an authentic Mexican eatery and I thought of Coyotes. I checked out the menu and knew instantly I was gonna go with the carne asada taco dinner which came with rice & beans. I knew I wanted the enchiladas verdes with chicken as well. The taco dinner was awesome as the meat was seasoned to perfection...it didn't stand a chance against my hunger lol! I was gonna save the enchiladas for lunch the next day, but I wound up maxing half of it after the taco dinner went down. Very good and still good when heated up the next day. The delivery didnt take long at all due to them not being to far from my location, but the anticipation of the delivery was too much to take as I knew this would be a delicious meal! One of many Mexican restaurants, and while it may not be the best (that's up to everyone's own opinions) at least Coyotes serves the role as the open late, no frills option, but still good quality. I've gotten several items here over the past year. Tacos, burrito, chilaquiles verdes, taco salad, I've been satisfied with them all. I usually order to go, their dining room isn't huge, but if you want to dine in it's BYOB and good chips salsa. I think of it as my ole reliable place, especially if it's late.
