I love chilaquiles and I never knew about this place. As you can imagine, I went in with high hopes and it was as good as I hoped!! The staff was incredibly friendly. The horchata latte was a surprise huge treat. It was smooth and sweet. The serving size is very large and might be enough to share with an additional side or two. Overall I was happy to eat my leftovers the next day. I believe they have a new downtown location so I am excited to check that out. A+ food and service from the team at Catedral! Came with my parents, aunt, and grandma for a late lunch. This was a recommendation from my girlfriend and her mother so I had to check it out. Walking in for a late lunch, we didn't realize the restaurant was about to close. The staff were very kind to still set up a separate table and serve us while cleaning up and closing the rest of the venue. Phenomenal hospitality on their part. The food itself was also amazing. They serve HUGE cups of coffee. Good quality coffee and lots of it is certainly well appreciated. I had the cajeta latte which as delicious. For food I had the chilaquiles verdes with cecina, guac, and tres leches cake. The chilaquiles were perfect! Great flavor to the sauce and perfect texture. I got the chilaquiles verdes, unfortunately they were quite salty. Not spicy either so if you like spice then verdes are not for you. Rice was salty as well. Meat was good. It is pricey but I think that's how most places are now a days. Drinks were delicious though. My wife and I went there because of there chilaquiles reputation and was impressed very delicious however we also ordered a steak torta and were so disappointed in that lack of quality in there meat definitely not skirt steak (arrachera) they used a low quality high fat content meat. I recently visited the new location in Chicago and it did not disappoint! They have lots of free parking near by. The location is big and you don't have to wait as long as the original in little village. I always get the chilaquiles, which in my opinion are the very best in Chicago. Today I decided to venture out and try the Pamela panini with strawberry salad. It was a light, delicious lunch. The cafe de olla is a must!! And I also tried this corn dessert that was too die for!!
