A review here stated that the chocolate croissants compared to the croissants in France, so I had to see for myself. I purchased a chocolate croissant and an almond croissant to go. The chocolate croissant was small but fresh and buttery. The milk chocolate inside was okay, with only one bar of chocolate when usually there are two in a typical chocolate croissant. Dark chocolate would definitely elevate the bite. The almond croissant was a decent size, fresh, buttery, and very much a top tier pastry. Delicious! The manner in which the pastries are displayed could be improved as they are all sitting on the counter, open air. Customer service was good. This bakery has real potential and I'm rooting for it. Been wanting to try the pastries here. Stopped by on a weekday. There wasn't anyone inside the shop aside from 2 gentleman. Was greeted. Ordered 2 cinnamon rolls and a ham & cheese croissant. The croissant was nice and flaky. Flavorful. As for the cinnamon rolls, warmed them slightly at home. The cream cheese frosting, absolutely delicious. Not too sweet. I was madly craving cinnamon rolls so my husband accompanied me on a morning run. I walked in and was immediately greeted by a friendly worker. I placed my order for the rolls and I was out the door within 5 minutes. I went home and threw one in the air fryer. I wish I could experience it in store, but it was amazing at home! It was crispy on the outside and gooey on the inside. The cream cheese frosting was the perfect sweetness and it wasn't too sticky or overpowering. Rachel's Bakehouse is a fairly new, lowkey, family owned bakery that's very easy to miss on the street since it's on a small corner right by a residential area. I made a visit last week, on a Friday morning around 7:30 AM or so. There were about 8 or 9 different pastries in plastic cases available without any signage saying which is which, however, I was able to ask the guy working the front what a few of them were. The guy explained everything perfectly and he also gave me a few recommendations as well. My personal favorite was their cinnamon roll. It wasn't overly sweet like your ordinary cinnamon roll because they use a cream cheese based frosting top. It was so light and fluffy, yet very delicious! The blueberry scone was great and the glaze on top wasn't overly sweet. The ham & gruyere cheese croissant was great. I loved the swirl croissant with the crisp glaze of butter with a light coating of sugar. I inquired if they change things around daily but the guy said it's usually the same during the week with more options including breakfast items during the weekends. I get that it's a small business with low demand but being limited to a few choices during the week isn't the best business practice in my opinion with the amount of great bakeries nearby with high demand. Besides that, everything I had was fairly priced and pastries were all pretty good. Personally, I won't be a returning customer but if you're looking for a small family owned bakery with yummy goods to support, I recommend this spot! There's a small parking lot available right behind but it may be hard getting out when busy since it's a little one way rectangular spot with a few spaces that all face the same way. There's street parking available that's in a residential area so weekends may be a bit more difficult. read more

Chef David is extremely talented and used high quality ingredients. The price wasn't a concern to me as the flavors were fantastic and I felt great after eating here! They are new and will be offering more food and espresso options as they get settled in. I will definitely be coming back to try all of their pasteries. I love scones! A lot!! But it's so hard to find any scones in this area. So when I find incredibly good scones, it's one of the highlights of the year. Rachel's scones are a particular type. Light and slightly crispy on the outside with amazing flavor and texture. I had their blueberry scones and have been daydreaming about them ever since. I bought two so I would have one for the next day. Hah! That lasted about an hour. They were both devoured that morning. I also bought a pain aux raisin and a monkey bread pastry. My husband reported both were excellent! I'm planning to work my way through their menu ... always getting scones too, of course. Luckily they are far enough from my house that I can't go there every day!!! The person that helped me was incredibly nice and it's a cozy shop. I wish they had an outdoor table so I could sit and eat with my huge puppy. But that will not keep me away (sorry puppy). They didn't have a lot to choose from but I did stop by on a Sunday after around 11:30am. Tried the almond croissant and cinnamon roll with a generous topping of real cream cheese frosting. Both were delicious. I'm looking forward to going back to try different pastries and sandwiches for lunch. They also have gluten free pastries. The prices seemed high but in today's economy, it's on par with other bakeries with similar quality items. The only drawback is the parking. I wish I took more pictures of their amazing foods. The loaf I purchased I sliced and made some grilled cheese with tomato and bacon. Also for St. patty's day made corned beef sandwiches. Don't judge, we were craving pastries & like a good sampling, lol! We didn't get baked goods...we got baked heart! Wow! No frills just yumms! Monkey bread was light & crisp on top. Hot, soft, & slightly chewy...perfection! Not just bread with cinnamon sugar on top. The cream cheese frosting on the morning bun (it could have been a cinnamon roll) was creamy, just the right amount, & not too sweet. I wanted more but didn't need it, haha! The roll itself, again was the right texture I want in a pastry...not bready...soft, warm, and a little chewy. And to balance it out, we had the ham & cheese...you know, for the protein (-: Slight sweetness of a flaky, buttery croissant, tang of a touch of mustard, richness of melted cheese, finished with the savory & light saltiness of juicy sliced ham. This bakery is a true hidden gem. I had seen it on Yelp for a while but wasn't sure if it was a direct order business since I didn't see photos of the bakery inside. I decided to take a chance and stopped over here today. Since it was a Monday, which is one of their slower days, the pastry selection was small so they don't overbake. They have a larger selection towards the weekend dates. I ended up going with the cinnamon bun and chocolate croissant. The cinnamon bun was not overly sweet and had a good texture. The chocolate croissant was your standard chocolate croissant except it was more flaky, which I liked. It wasn't dry or smooshy and soft. The true star of the show was their sandwich. Their sandwiches are not advertised as much but if you ask, they may be able to make you one. I got the black forest ham & cheese on tomato focaccia and was absolutely delicious! It was toasted a little which made the edges crispy. It came with a free mixed green salad that was very fresh. For $12, it's a good portion size and great deal. There is plenty of seating and it's a comfortable , cozy environment. Pleasant music that's not too loud. There is a public restroom available. Not sure about Wi-Fi. Service was friendly and hospitable. Location: It is pretty easy to get to if you use GPS. Parking: Small lot parking in the back. Plenty of spots on the slow days, not sure how it would be like during a busy time. There isn't nearby street parking (red zoned) so you may need to park in the neighborhood which is a little tight. read more
