This is a review from someone who doesn't care about aesthetics or fancy decorations for your social media posts, just a straight big party fajita catering dinner for a family celebration. Scroll down if you just want the summary. I was looking for a private room for about 20 people last minute in December and every restaurant in Houston was either booked or wanted to charge x amount with a # of guests!! Glad someone recommended this place because when I called my first impression with Wendy was a relief. She explained the party room, the food options, and even offered to make us a fresh tres leches cake [we regret this :(] all descriptions and options were clearly explained. Loved that we booked the reservation during their Happy hour and we could take advantage of the drinks and Wendy came out announcing last call for HH. The day of: our party room was ready and set up. Loved they even made a sign and balloons for the occasion (sad I didn't have pictures) Our drink orders were taken right away and chips/ salsa and black beans were brought out. My 8 year old son loved the black beans with chips! That was a huge hit for the kids! Wendy stayed on top of our table and brought the food: Fajita steak, chicken, and shrimp came out in the sizzling hot plate, and smelled amazing. We could have split each plate with two people but everyone had leftovers from their plate. I asked for both flour and corn tortillas and they really were hard to pick which one to eat as they were both really good! They were able to put Tajín on the rim for my margarita and that was one of the best margaritas I've had I asked for another one. As people were done they cleared the table which that is a plus. I loved Wendy and several other servers were super helpful taking care of us and the communication among them was top tier. Every guest complimented the fajitas were really good and look forward to order for the holiday office parties. I only have a picture of the leftover food we had and it was a lot!!! I know next time I have a big party I will contact this restaurant first to host it. This is a true hidden gem in Houston! Updating my review as I decided to give it a second chance... & I'm sooo glad I did. It was such a great experience compared to the first time. The waitress recommended the nachos & OMG so tender and delicious. MUST TRY!! The Mole was really good, tasted like homemade mole (not saying it's not I just can't confirm) but really good. The Pambazo was delicious! A big portion and dipped perfectly. I TRULY TRULY like the beans with chips as a free appetizer.. different & I enjoyed them. The young lady, was super helpful. Kitchen was very slow, eggs were overcooked, coffee tasted like it had been sitting on the burner for an hour or longer. My co worker and I love trying to new places for lunch. She past by here and said she wanted to try it and we did and got sad because it wasn't as good as we expected it to be. Now i know they are new so that could also be it. But it's from another part of mexico I believe. I tried ordering the pastor taco meal but couldn't substitute it for steak which was weird. So i order three ala carte beef tacos and they were okay, the corn tortilla was bigger than usual. The hot sauces they provided were hot, but the green one had flavor. This was 6/10 for me. Wanted to check out this new place near work with some coworkers. The exterior is the repurposed IHOP and the interior still has some hints of the old pancake hut but they are well on their way to adding their charm. The staff were all very nice and attentive to our table and the others. I ordered my favorite meal of quesobirria and the presentation was beautiful. The flavor was good and the consume really kicked up the overall meal. I think in a few months this place will be packed as they have the good pricing, good parking and great lunch selections. read more

Agua fresca was good. Food was not homemade or fresh the chicken on my chilaquiles was horrible. It tasted like precooked frozen chicken absolutely gross. But today I am not sure what happened because I took one of my coworker for her birthday and we felt abandoned. I was excited to check this place out. I wasn't disappointed. The staff was friendly and they all greeted us. We were served chips salsa and a side of black bean dip, which was different but good. I had the enchiladas holbox(seafood enchiladas) en salsa roja. I enjoyed my food and the limonada too. The Chile con Queso was also good. The only things I didn't like too much was 1) the table salsa wasn't spicy at all. I need spice with my food. 2) it was a bit pricey for Mexican food but not too bad. Wish I could give them more stars. Always seeking an excellent Mexican breakfast so I tried them out. I've now had their migas and a la Mexicana and opinion is about the same on both. Eggs a bit undercooked (wet) and potatoes were under cooked and not soft. Everything lacks flavor except the salsa verde which is the table dip. Most things on the menu are overpriced and their "happy hour" isn't comparable to other Mexican restaurants close by. Chips and salsa don't come with to go orders and you must ask for them if you are dining in. Tortillas are good and taste homemade, but unfortunately don't come with the breakfast plates. read more

Visited for the first time this week and honestly the food was pretty good. I got the birriadilla (I think is the name) SO GOOD-HIGHLY RECOMMEND. I'm used to getting the complimentary salsa and chips in the beginning but they give you green salsa and refried beans.. which I've never seen the beans before but they were good! Margaritas are really good, to me the frozen was stronger than the rocks. Food came out in a timely manner. Service wasn't horrible but the bartender was either new or just wasn't good at multi tasking. (Me and my friend were the only 2 at the bar) and I had to ask for more chips 2-3x, he kept walking away and messing with the tv and watching tv with the other servers while I'm trying to get his attention. Our first time here, hostess said we could choose were to sit, Food was delicious, almost tasted like my moms cooking.Tortillas chip were fresh/crunchy and were given salsa verde and black beans the food was well made, I'm happy the tortillas are hand made pretty good size. Came for lunch with a friend. Atmosphere is decent, but low to no music in the areas other than the front. The wait staff was pretty amicable and came by to check on us often. The first time I went was great. Had great food and great customer service. So i decided to come back and bring my family to check it out. We had a server i believe named wendy who unfortunately ruined the whole experience for us and was extremely rude. Me and my sister had ordered chilaquiles and we asked for them to be green. However, when they came out she brought out red ones. Which is fine it's understandable, sometimes mix ups happens and that's cool but when we told her that we ordered the green ones and if we could switch them out she quite literally just snatched my plate out right infront of me and rolled her eyes. We were all really confused like as if i had just yelled at this grown lady or something. she came back and my sister had also told her if she could switch them out and instead of just politely agreeing and switching them for her she started arguing and battling us over what color we ordered the chilaquiles which to me is absolutely insane. So my sister told her that she'll just eat the red ones since this lady was not wanting to switch them out like Just do your job and switch them out it's not a big deal. For the rest of our time there my whole family was literally scared of asking her to get us anything else in fear of how she'll react so we had to keep asking other employees who would be walking by (which were very sweet). We even had other server/workers come over to our table and apologize on her behalf because they seen the show this grown lady just put on over chilaquiles. I had the special, beef in a red sauce with potatoes and I got a small portion of meat, undercooked potatoes and a whole lot of sauce. Drinks were expensive and tasted...weird. Worst tacos with dry meat that smelled funny, variety of four salsas served and none were tasteful. Rice tasted bland lacking flavor while the charro beans left an interesting aftertaste. Chips tasted stale and service was slow to get refills on water. Ambience is a colorful establishment with silence and no music. Staff greeted us on the way out.
