Ken, our waiter was patient, attentive, and very professional. He answered our every request; and was expeditious in doing so. Ken also served me, the Birthday Lady a perfect serving size of vanilla ice cream covering half a brownie, drizzled in carmel and chocolate sauce; with a lit candle on top . So this was a bit off the Five Stars I'm accustomed to at The Barrel Club. Despite having a reservation and being the second couple seated at 11am--opening--the host would not accommodate a simple request to sit at a booth on the side where the bar is located instead of in the main dining room where he had just seated a party of 16 (likely to be too loud for my liking). The couple behind us was seated where I asked to be seated!!!!!! The second misstep was my egg order--over easy is not the same as sunny side up! While the kitchen corrected the error it was the first prep of the day and therefore there was an absence of attention to detail in the kitchen--our waitress put in the correct order. We decided to grab a bite in the restaurant first. Today's tasting was Irish in celebration of all things having to do with Saint Patrick's Day. I usually indulge in a bit of whiskey or bourbon mixed with a cocktail. NEVER had it straight! I could feel my throat burn and the heat in my chest. My friend told me about wanting to go here for her b-day and the food pictures looked really good so made a visit here on 8/29/25. Amazing experience!! Walk in and it's pretty busy. Staff was friendly and they seated us right away (we had a reservation). I was daring and tried the Elotes. Most Elotes I don't like because they put too much stuff on the corn. However, as good as this elotes was, it gets it's own paragraph! Corn was fresh, flavorful and I loved this dish. I'm in my feelings right now because as I looked on the dinner menu currently, I don't see it on the menu. My family and I went here on Friday 5-9-25 for early Mother's Day dinner(make reservations). Our server Chris who just about promised us the world lol was very energetic almost to the point one of my aunts said she thought she was going to faint but he was very knowledgeable about everything! I came here for my husband's birthday on a Sunday evening. Thank goodness I made reservations. Even with the reservations we had to wait an additional 20 minutes. However, our server's name was Ken, and he definitely took care of us. I've been wanting to try this place for awhile and I'm so glad that I came! To start, everyone there was very friendly and attentive, down to who I believe was the manager. I noticed on the menu, it did state that an 18% gratuity is automatically included so initially my thought was "great, so people can act how ever they want" and I know that's so negative to think that way, but I've seen it happen. Honestly, you'd never guess that was the case. Everyone that we interacted with was just so kind, funny and accommodating. No complaints at all. The food was phenomenal. We had ribs & shrimp, crab cakes and the shrimp fettuccine. We definitely shared all of it so we could try more than one item and everything was very good. The sauce in the shrimp fettuccine dish was fantastic - plenty of seasonings, the right consistency and there was plenty of it. For the ribs; the sauce was sweet & tangy at the same time and I love that! The meat fell right off the bone and it was delicious. The crab cakes were pretty good but the main entrees definitely took home the award. I also had the old fashioned and it was one of the best old fashioneds I've ever had. Not bad! Consistently excellent food and the wait staff and the bartenders are always on top of everything so looks like pretty good teamwork in those areas! Twice we experience watching people who arrived after we did get seated with same number of people as our party, so we politely and calmly used our voices about it each time and now we highly recommend making a reservation in advance :-) Hopefully their host station will get more organized or more assistance with more time because that is the only complaint we've had during otherwise excellent experiences after being seated. read more

My sister took the kids skating just down the street at the ice rink so my husband and I came here on a rare date night. The food was good, but I really came here to rave about the chicken. My husband and I split their whole chicken that comes with potatoes and carrots. The chicken is carved for you at the table and I don't usually gravitate towards getting something like this because my husband usually doesn't want chicken. I am so glad I was able to get him to split this with me because let me tell you, this was the most juicy and tender chicken I've ever had! I was worried it would taste like a rotisserie chicken but it was anything but that. It was seasoned perfectly and melt in your mouth. Honestly, best chicken and great price too. The only thing we didn't particularly like was the service. There was a photographer walking around trying to take your photo and then sell you it in a frame. The waitress also recommended my husband get his cocktail smoked and didn't mention it was an extra charge of $4. I didn't see the extra charge listed on the menu either. Finally, they automatically add 18% tip to the check. This diminished the vibe a little as I felt they were doing small "money grab" type things. read more

Drinks were strong and absolutely delicious. However, here's why I would not return. There is an automatic 18% gratuity added to everything -- and I truly mean everything. I completely understand an automatic gratuity on food and service. But there was also an 18% gratuity added for taking pictures. He was literally the assigned "picture person." Why is gratuity being added for that? On top of that, we were charged an 18% gratuity on to-go bottles as well. Again... why is gratuity being added to take-out items? It's a nice place with good food and a great staff, but the way the gratuity is applied across the board feels excessive and honestly takes away from the overall experience. We had to call the bartender/server over a couple of times to place our orders. This did get better further into the dinner and we were checked on more often. We had the stuffed mushrooms and oyster rockerfeller as apps. Mushrooms were undercooked and not tender enough. Oysters were good but really rich - two were enough for me. The order comes with 6. My sister and I split a blt salad. It was really good and fresh. I just wish it had come dressed already. My niece had the Caesar salad and also enjoyed it. The portions were large for the salads. Garganelli shrimp pasta was the entree we split. It needed more seasoning but I enjoyed it. Shrimp were cooked well. My nieces had the salmon and short rib dishes. Went to have brunch in a Sunday and it was perfect! I love the decor and look of the restaurant. They have a barrels decorated through the restaurant and it gives it a rustic look. It's definitely a vibe, they play music and it's something for everybody. We had reservations and didn't wait too long to be seated. Our server was Ken and he is theeeee best! He has a personality like no other. He's very helpful with the menus and make sure you have everything you need! Their food is bomb! Stopped by The Barrel Club for my birthday and it was ok. This would be my 3rd time grabbing a bite here and I always love the ambiance. The decor is just so chic. If I based this review on my previous two visits I may have given 4 stars instead of 3. This go round the service and the food is what made the experience ok. For context they open at 3:30pm and close at 9pm on Thursday but online said the kitchen closed at 8:30. We arrived at 8:00pm and there was no host at the door. There were managers standing at the bar looking at us look around for about 3-5 mins before being assisted by the host. The host advised the kitchen closes at 8:15. She said she wasn't able to seat us but we could take a seat at the bar and they could get our food order in. We sat down and waiting a while for menus. The host saw us waiting and came to give us menus simultaneously with the bartender. Every dish they brought out looked immaculate. My bf said he loved his salmon and the sides that came with were also delicious. I ordered crab cakes and lamb chops with a side of mashed potato's. It also came with a soup or salad options. The crab cakes were really good and so was the broccoli cheddar soup. The lamb chops weren't bad at all but i would've liked them a little more seasoned. Like my moms lamb chops or fogo de chaos lol. Unfortunately doors were not opened until 3:45 PM. The lady apologized for the wait but we were a bit irritated because it was hot outside and we were left waiting in the sun. I ordered the salmon with broccolini and polenta. It was a great dish, but the salmon was ordered medium well and I probably should've ordered medium because it was a little dry. The group enjoy the mushrooms and oysters for appetizers. I ordered the cocktail flight with bourbon peach tea, Jamaican Me happy and forbidden fruit. Two out of three isn't bad. Let's start with Bourbon Flights. They have a forearms length list of different bourbon flights they offer. Most are good brand name flights, but they also have a lovely flight of their own products. We had the perogies and chicken tortillas soup. Both were good, but the soup. One of the best tortilla soups I've ever had. Next came lamb chops and bone in rib eye surf and turf with lobster tail, and we still had leftover steak for 2 days. Broccolini and Brussels sprouts for sides. All delicious. Started off with a cocktail flight where I got to try three different cocktails for only $21, which is a complete steal as they were strong and filled to the brim. I got the roasted Amish chicken and Brussel Sprouts. The waiter told me that the chicken was big but when it came to the table my jaw dropped. Flavorful, juicy and a great portion size. Would definitely recommend splitting this if you're on a date or out with others. I'm not sure what they put on the brussels but they just might be some of the best I've ever had.
