I found out by La Colorina attending a Yelp Elite event yesterday. I honestly didn't know I lived close by to it! I have been on walks passing this shop and never noticed it. I stopped by to satisfy my craving for an horchata cold brew. I did a little research and found out that it's made with oat milk. Sold! The woman at the counter was nice. I also ordered the flamin hot Cheetos (my favorite spicy snack, I have an addiction to hot Cheetos!!) with cheese and jalapeno slices. She lets me know that I can order with Takis or Doritos in place of the hot Cheetos. I was giddy to find that out and made mental note to try them out next time! I sat on one of the benches while I wait for my food and drink. The colorful decor is so fun to look at! Horchata cold brew: Smooth, sweet, and had a generous amount of cinnamon!! Honestly, the only negative was I ordered it in a medium (12 ounces). I had no clue it was going to so good...I would have gone with the large!! I sure will get it next time! Flamin hot Cheetos- served in the bag it comes on, with warm cheese sauce poured on top, sprinkled with some jalapenos! Oh yes!! Takes me back to high school ordering hot Cheetos with cheese sauce on top. It's honestly my favorite meal. ;) La Colorina is a fun shop with delicious drinks, fun snacks, and kind staff. This place never disappoints. I've been buying Mangonada and Fresa con Crema from them, and they always fill the cups to the brim. For their Mangonada, there are multiple options for the sorbet, including cucumber (very refreshing)! And I appreciate that I get to customize my orders. The employees are always friendly; the place is colorful and clean; and the ambiance is not loud- there's music, but it's not blaring so you can hear each other. On a warm July day is there anything better than a refreshingly cool treat? I visited La Colorina with a friend on a quiet Friday afternoon in July. The shop is in close proximity to Costco and other shopping, but its location on a side street off of Peabody is quiet with lots of parking. The restaurant is immaculately clean and decorated with bright colors and a fun plant display. There were lots of options on the menu all featuring fresh fruits, so it was hard to make a decision. The owner stopped and literally described the entire menu in delectable detail. He sold us on their seasonal special featuring fresh watermelon from Arbuckle--our neck of the woods! We couldn't resist that option. Karen expertly put the treat together and the final result was both beautiful and delicious. Homemade watermelon sorbet with chamoy below a pile of fresh watermelon chunks sprinkled with salt and chili. Such an incredible combination! Prices are very reasonable, the dining area is clean and comfortable, and the people are friendly. Next time you're at Costco swing by for a little "me" time and get a daily serving of fresh fruit as a bonus. Great for solo diners, couples, friends, and small families. read more

This was a real nice treat on a hot afternoon. Came in and tried their signature Mangonada. It was a huge portion with lots of extras. Everything tasted fresh and I really enjoyed the fresh pineapple and mango. We also ordered elotes in teh cup and it was actually by far the best ive had. It was super cheesy and created perfectly. The decor was average and limited but overall went along with the vibe. The seating was limited one family almost took literally every seat and i had to join them at one of the tables just to sit down. Was shopping last weekend at the outlets and was craving a mangonada! Searched on Yelp and this place came up!! I've never had a mangonada before so I have nothing to compare this to but damn, this place sets the bar really high! The mango sorbet on the bottom was sweet and the mango chunks were big and fresh. Had a little trouble eating the tamarind straw because there was a big chunk of the bottom of the straw so we had to bite that off first before actually being able to use the straw to drink the melted sorbet. For 5.50, it is so worth it!! I do wish that their menu had the English translation for their items so that way people who don't speak Spanish would know what the items were without having to inconvenience the cashiers by asking them. Also there isn't much seating. Maybe about 6-8 chairs and that's it. I ended up eating my mangonada in the car because the place got so packed. read more

La Colorina have THE MOST INCREDIBLE mangonadas I've ever tried (and I've had plenty). With that said, this review isn't going to be as "well-rounded" as I'd like because I can't help but order mangonadas, and ONLY mangonadas whenever I come here. They make their own ice-cream (which in the case of the stuff in mangonadas is more of a sherbert. It's sooooo light and fruity! They give you a generous amount of fruit pieces and REALLY pack down that mango sherbert so that you get your money's worth. I love that not only do they have the typical tamarind candy stick, but they also add the little bits of tamarind candies into the mix. SO ADDICTING! They make great use of every space available in your cup of delicious frozen treat. I also appreciate how they take it easy on the chamoy and chili. Instead, they give customers the option to just add more if they'd like by having the sauce and chili available at the front counter. Super convenient! A family owned and operated place. Much like the treats that they serve, everyone here is super sweet. A lot of times, there's only one or two people working so it can take a while. I've never waited more than several minutes though, and even if I did, I don't see myself minding too much knowing what's to come. But if you're in a great, big hurry, call before coming in. They do take phone orders! This isn't a place to hang around for long because they're unable to provide a restroom for customers. It is also a fairly small shop. But they do have some benches available for customers who are waiting on their orders. I seem to get tired of mangonadas at every other places, but this one is so good that I'm able to finish my cup almost every time and still crave more later that same day or the very next day. I was searching on Yelp for frozen treats in the area and was excited when I came across La Colorina. I had been wanting to try a mangonada for awhile and had some places bookmarked, but I never got around to trying any of them. This time, I was able to check it out soon after finding out about this spot. I came here on a weekday in the evening, and it wasn't too busy. There were a few high school kids hanging out, and there was no one in line. As others have noted, the menu is in Spanish, and there are no descriptions. There is a screen showing different menu items, but none of them are labeled. Wish there were descriptions or at least labels to go with the images on the screen! Ended up sticking with a mangonada, which I split with someone else and was enough portion-wise. I wish I had read the Yelp tip at the time about the "virgin" option, which comes with just the sorbet and mango. Those were my favorite parts of the mangonada. My least favorite part was the tamarind, which was too sour for my sweet-loving tastebuds. They still seem to be just starting their business for moving in at least that is what the atmosphere makes you feel like. Not much seating if any, there is a lack of Decor on the walls not that it matters it just seems like they aren't quite up and running. My first experience of eating a Mangonada and it was so refreshing! I've seen photos of this colorful drink floating around my social media pages. So on a hot summer's day, my friend and I came here to try it during lunch. Of course I explored their Yelp page before arriving and even googled some menu items since they don't have english descriptions. My friend and I both ended up getting a Mangonada ($5.50) and she got a Elote en vaso (corn in a small cup with mayo, cheese, and chili sauce. I love corn so it was pretty good to me.). We were 3rd in line, the people in front of us got a few items. We were there for 20 minutes before getting our orders, so don't come here if you're on a tight schedule. They were really friendly though! Homemade mango sorbet with chili sauce and a tamarind candy straw, topped with mango pieces and more chili sauce, chewy candy and fresh lime juice. Remember to grab a spoon, you'll need it. I had to bite the bottom of the candy straw to be able to drink through it. Wasn't bad. It was definitely refreshing and the flavor is a combination of sweet, sour, and spicy. The mango sorbet is delicious! I think I would ask for less of the sauce next time, I don't know if I like the whole combo taste yet. They take credit cards. read more

Hands down, this place deserves 5 stars. -Amazing customer service. My first time here, they were closing and let me in and I got to enjoy their hot corn on the cob (with butter, cream, chili powder & sauce) and a mangonada. The second time, I thought they closed at 8pm instead of 7pm but they still let me in even though they were cleaning up and made 3 delicious mangonadas for me and my family. -Fresh fruits; great quality. Their fruits are completely fresh..you can smell it and just know. Their sorbets are all natural with no preservatives which is a major plus in my book. -Location. They're located in a plaza with ample parking. It's not far from the Vacaville Costco and freeway exit. -Great prices. Their prices are definitely affordable and "worth it" for the quality and freshness of fruits/food you receive. Delicious mangonada! Came here after thinking about this place for a few weeks. The location of the shop is fairly easy to miss, small strip plaza across the street from a gas station. Parking wasn't bad. I walk in on a Saturday afternoon and there is already a group of people waiting on deliciousness. I stand in line to do the same. There were two girls working when I walked in, one at the register and the other making the orders. When the line was gone, they had a list of things on their hands. Two other ladies came out from the back to let a customer know they were out of corn. Then she went back.. then the rest of the three followed. Huh?
