It took me a while to find the best Birria in Compton, I used to drive by lacosinadeyesi food truck until I decided to try it and hands down the flavor, fresh ingredients and salsa on my quesatacos and consomé was the best thing I've had in years. It beats birrieria gonzalez, birrieria barajas and every other truck in Compton. I been going every other week service and atmosphere is awesome. Go for yourself and try it you won't regret it!!

We had our annual Thanksgiving luncheon and had La Cosina de Yesi serve our staff this year. All of our employees including our management team gave everything a 10/10 the food was delicious nice and hot, flavorful, beautiful presentation, and amazing customer service. We had such a wonderful experience. I can't express enough how delicious the food was! This is a must try.

Really REALLY good food truck. The carne asada is delicious, the birria too. The Molitas were soooo delicious I went back 2 days in a row. I also got a side of rice & beans, this is the first time that I had beans in a paste like consistency and I really enjoyed it. I was pouring the beans over my rice and they had the perfect flavor that paired together well. I wasn't a big fan of the green sauce, it was like a creamy green sauce, but there was this orange sauce fire the orange sauce was so fire. Nothing was really spicy, but everything had great flavor. I feel bad giving a 4 star review because their Birria really is top notch its really good . I have had their Birria Plate and the Brria enchiladas no complaints. This day I was just craving a burrito so I ordered their chorizo Burrito, and it was so disappointing barely any chorizo with egg couldnt really grab a good bite of chorizo. The burrito was mostly rice. Too much rice packed in there just find it kinda hard to mess up a burrito but it is possible. read more

Always a pleasure visiting la cosina de yessi, my family enjoy eating there the birra and tacos are so fire and on point with the flavors. My kids everytime love getting the birra Ramon. The service is amazing never have to wait in nomore then 5mins for our food and very welcoming. When I tell you all the food from La Cosina de Yesi is fire I mean every word! I've literally have tried everything from Yesi! The Birria is so flavorful & full of all kinds of yummy! The tacos are addicting with that melted cheese & that crunch on the tacos followed by dipping it in the delicious consome that you can have all by itself. Yesi also has some delicious Agua Fresca's from Strawberry Lemonade, Pina, Melon, Watermelon. I've literally have drove over an hr & a half just to get to her to satisfy my cravings. I've had Birria at other places & they don't even come close to La Cosina de Yesi it's the absolute best! The customer service makes you feel like family. I have to say, this is the best birria I've had in a long time! The flavor is rich, but not greasy at all-just perfect. My favorite dish is their birria flautas paired with sopa fría and frijoles puercos. If you're looking for delicious birria and authentic flavors, this is the place to go. The first time I tried La Cocina de Yesi was when I attended a birthday party. The food was so delicious! Her birria, rice and beans but especially her sopa fria. This has to be the best Birria spot in town with authentic sinaloense flavors. Everything is well balanced with delicious flavors. All with corn tortillas but they charge you $2 extra for corn tortilla on the quesadilla but they didn't charge for the consume which was good. The corn tortilla for the quesadilla was a bit thick for my preference but I think that's the only way to keep all the meat inside and not break. I suggest getting the flour tortilla on quesadillas. But, the birria meat and consume were really good. And, you get a lot of meat in a quesadilla. It's big enough for 2 people. Al pastor was good too. Still need to try the carne asada. They charge 2% fee for credit cards so bring cash unless you ordered online. No parking except street parking which can suck around dinner time as they get busy. They also have few seats inside so you see people order ahead (online or phone) and double park to pick up. And, it's best if you speak some Spanish to communicate. Having said all this, perhaps a 3.5 is my rating.

You get two chops in the dinner plate and one for the lunch plate. Also added peach cobbler and a lemonade they make fresh at the location. Everything tasted good. The biggest draw here is the handmade tortillas, which are definitely a step above average. However, this was the first taco shop where I actually watched pieces of fat being added to the asada tacos, something I've seen other reviewers mention as well. The al pastor wasn't carved from a trompo; instead, it was served as chopped pieces of pork in sauce, which wasn't my preferred style. The birria was good, but nothing particularly memorable compared to other places I've tried. That said, the restaurant seems very popular with locals, and being open past 6 p.m. is a plus in an area where many restaurants close early. Prices are lower than what you'd typically find at a brick-and-mortar taqueria, which may reflect the local market. One thing to note is that there is no customer restroom, so it feels more geared toward takeout than dining in. Most of the customers I saw appeared to be picking up food to go. Overall, it's a solid neighborhood taco spot if you're already in the area, but not necessarily a destination-worthy stop.
