Stopped in here while I was working and it was pretty good! I was greeted and sat pretty fast and some chips and salsa were brought out almost immediately. They were just okay. My friendly waitress recommended the amazing tacos, that were very yummy and a great portion size for what you paid for. I will say however, I did have to ask multiple times for multiple things and still some of the stuff didn't come out. Over all very solid spot. read more

Still our inbetween between Idaho Falls and Boise. The service continues to get more tired, our server paid much more attention to a regular, and we had to work to get some of that attention. We both ordered Chile Rellenos. Because no one does Chile Rellenos correctly. It should be about the pepper itself, but it never is, except here (and probably places we haven't been to) If you look at the picture, you can actually see the pepper (yes, it's not the greatest, but it shows the pepper). If I can give this place a zero I would. I went in with my family with a group of six people on Sunday, June 21. We all ordered and everyone got their food except for me. I ordered a simple, two steak tacos and rice and beans and my order was never delivered. It was mentioned to two different waiters, a gal and a guy multiple times. We waited for over an hour for my order and by time we're ready to pay. They decide to bring out the two steak tacos without the rice and beans. There was really no explanation other than they forgot my order. I never heard an apology or anyone taking accountability. To add insult to injury, when I went up to pay for my tab, since they clearly ignored us after we had asked them multiple times for my forgotten order, I was asked by one of the waiters that served us on "how was your dinner experience?". The audacity of the question was met with " it was horrible experience". I'm not upset that they forgot my order because I really was not that hungry. I'm more upset about how it was handled and what could've been done to make the situation better. I've came here to this location multiple times in the past, I live in the Treasure Valley, so I don't come here often, but I do remember having decent food in the past But this definitely was my last time going to this location. I hope this helps somebody else in the future from going there since they clearly forget orders and simple ones as well. read more

Best carne asada we've ever had. The corn tortillas were huge and so delicious. Service was perfect. We'll be going back, if we're in the area. This was close to our hotel and people raved about it. We thought it was horrible! Our shredded beef burrito was salty and had more rice than beef. 3 small shrimp in a shrimp taco? I called in my order and specifically asked for chips and salsa. I added an order of guacamole. When I picked up the food there weren't any chips and salsa. Then the "guy" at the host station said, " I will get you some and not charge you for it." What? Not worth the money unless you love salt and poor service. read more

Excellent! I had the Chili Relleno and it was tasty and moist, with a wonderful poblano pepper taste. The cheese is a very good quality white cheese. There are two kinds of hot sauce if that suits your taste. Their service was prompt and good. I was sat at a window booth which made the meal more pleasant for me. Failed at every level on my 2nd visit. Ordered a #6 off lunch menu - a taco and an enchilada with rice and beans. Taco was a soggy mess and the enchilada must have come out of the refrigerator because it was cold. Chips are store bought but salsa was the best part of a very disappointing meal. Service? None. Server never came back to see how my meal was. Ambiance? Loud - not because it was crowded as there were only five other customers there at noon - but the music was way too loud. As we were traveling we saw this restaurant and decided to give it a try. It's not a huge restaurant but it's clean and the staff was very nice. The food variety featured on the menu was good. We ordered the steak with green sauce, shrimp fajitas, and chicken in cream sauce. We were all very pleased with the choices we made and the taste was great. Hidden gem in Jerome, Idaho. Well worth the slight detour off I-84. This is a place where the food is authentic Mexican and the ambiance is just as genuine. I had the molcajete ranchero and the depth of flavor was spot on. My girls enjoyed the carne asada. There were so many appetizing items in the menu, that I felt sorry I probably wouldn't find myself in these surroundings again in the near future in order to try them all. The waitress/hostess/manager, whomever, was absolutely horrific. She didn't wear her mask over her nose, she gave us Dr. Pepper instead of root beer, she forgot the lemons for the water having to ask her several times. She wasn't able to get my husband's order right and asked him three times what he ordered. He asked for cheese on the rice and beans and it didn't happen. For my order she asked me if I wanted corn or flour tortillas and I said I wanted corn and what do you know, she brought out flour! My husband liked his chimichanga, however I did not like the Hawaiian dish I got. It was over cooked and the salad and rice were tasteless. Seriously, this place was worth driving through Idaho to find. I cannot believe they don't have more positive reviews, a line out the door, and to go orders coming out of their ears. Ok, that is not true. I 100% know why. The smell outside can strip the hunger out of a starving village. Trust me when I tell you, put vapor rub under your nose and get here. From the music and drinks, to the food and service, this has literally been one of the top five Mexican culinary experiences of my life. The steak fajitas were some of the best marinated, largest portioned, slabs of beef that I have ever had and was enough for three people. Not only did they get the order wrong but after they took it back to the kitchen they brought it out again and tried to tell us it was what we ordered. Once they finally got us the correct food (after 3 different people came to our table to ask us what we did order) they were so rude and annoyed that they refused to come to our table for the rest of the visit. We had to get up to request boxes and tickets while the waitresses stood by the kitchen glaring majority of the visit. People that got sat after us were getting served and done eating by the time we got our food. Great food and service. Preordered our steak tacos, guacamole, chips and salsa to go. The tacos were fresh not soggy, all ingredients tasted fresh with crunchy cabbage, cilantro and onion. I was impressed. Guacamole and chips could have used a touch of salt for my liking. All three salsas we received were tasty. Fajitas were best so far in the vicinity...no weird carrots or anything and I didn't mind the mushrooms. Handmade tortillas were nice. Agua chile was tasty, but I wish it was cut in more manageable pieces. Better with the chips than the tostada shell. It would go great with La Costera Salsa Marisquera. If the owners read this, perhaps they'll order it....it's definitely delicious. Their salsas were fresh and held up. Rice and beans were on point, but a bit cold. They need to pre-warm the plates. Sope was good, but a bit soggy. For a sope, you really want that crunch. Carnitas were more pulled pork than carnitas...tasted like slow cooker rather than cooked slowly in lard.
