I have been living for years in heavily hispanic communities and as a result I have become a pretty picky Mexican food snob. My husband has spent time in rural Mexico so he is way worse. Anyway, we tried Jaunita's with skepticism. I said as we pulled in, it's going to be really good or really bad with no in between. It is really good. Really great flavors, ingredients and authentic for the most part. They put nacho cheese on the nachos, but it adds a nice mouth feel and it's loaded up with all sorts of other ingredients, so it's not really skimping. Husband liked his crane asada plate. Visiting Filer/Twin Falls area often why have we never taken the short drive to Buhl?! I was wanting to go thrifting and Buhl is the place to be for it, treasures everywhere! We walked from the thrift stores up to Juanita's about .4 miles and had the perfect little lunch! The street tacos and condiment bar were fresh, tasty, and temperature safe. Place was very clean and staff was friendly and kept our forgotten shopping bag for us to go back and get. We came back to the family we are visiting and told them they must try! I tried this place for takeout. It was fast, friendly, and affordable. They have a drive-through. We had a burrito, a combo enchilada/tamale plate, and a taco. I liked my combo plate. My boyfriend had the chicken burrito, but was surprised that it was ground chicken instead of stewed or grilled. Neither of us have seen that before. I didn't mind it, but he didn't like the texture and would have preferred stewed or grilled. All in all, I think this place does a good job for fast, basic Mexican food. I want to return to try the breakfast burrito. read more

After our 4hr kayak trip in Blue Heart Springs, we were in need of some yummy lunch. Found this place in Yelp and only 10mins away from Banbury Hot Springs. They do take outs/drive thru but we decided to dine in. It wasn't busy at all. The staff were very friendly and patient as we were trying to decide for our meal. We ordered 4 Gorditas (pollo, ground beef, beans and cheese) and combo meal (cheese enchilada and chile relleno) with a side of rice and beans and green sauce and a 32oz Horchata. The food was delicious. The gorditas were amazingly good. We left with a happy tummy! read more

Service is good and quick. We came about 10:15am so there was only one other person eating. I got 3 chicken tacos which came with cilantro and onions so yummy , although I prefer shredded chicken over ground. Bf got the carne asadas with rice and beans and tortillas. We both drank Jarritos. Buhl has a lot of great Mexican restaurants but this is our favorite! Carne asada gorditas are worth the 40 minute drive! Street tacos are the best around. Service has always been wonderful. We stayed the night near by and walked across the street to the gas station and then Juanita's. It was cold and windy outside and we were tired from our travel. It was warm, cozy, and so cute when we got inside. Super nice and friendly woman took our order and it came out fast. Great portions for the price and real Mexican food (I prefer spicier and they have yummy hot sauces that looked house made!) Our eyes were bigger than our stomachs and since we are traveling we couldn't take leftovers, but I wish I could've. I had a single red pollo enchilada plate and it hit the spot. I added a little more salt but I'm a salty gal :-) and that's just my personal preference and not a negative comment on the chef, the flavors were lovely. I had tried Juanita's when they first opened and I wasn't impressed at all. I was hesitant to go back, but I saw that people were giving them good reviews, so I decided to try again, and I am happy that I did. I had gotten a combo #4: tamal and enchilada. And also got a carnitas burrito. All of it was very good. The tamal was just a tad on the dry side, but nothing too bad. The beans were awesome, though a little stingy on the serving size, and the rice was tasty. I think the carnitas burrito was excellent, I'll be getting that again for sure! I came here on a Saturday night a little after 6pm and it was hopping, but our server was very polite. I'll be back soon! **UPDATE** Okay, I've returned several times after my initial review and I am obsessed with the shrimp burrito. Also the flan is FANTASTIC! I could eat that shrimp burrito day and night! My husband has Celiac Disease and gets sick from anything with gluten. So far, he has had success with ordering the tacos and not getting sick from cross contamination; after we talked to the staff about his condition. There may have been 1 time he got some cross contamination and was sick for a week, BUT this was after he ate at another restaurant the day before AND he also forgot to ask the staff at Juanita's to take care with his food, so we can't say where the cross contamination came from. I'm upping this place from a 4 star to a 5, because I really do like their food that much. I'm a California native where good Mexican food is plentiful. Juanita's is the ONLY place that has good Mexican food around this area, IMO. read more

Authentic Mexican cuisine. SO DELICIOUS! We ordered the asada, shrimp, chicken, pork, and tongue street tacos. All were delicious! Tamales had a fantastic flavor as did all three if the homemade salsas, rice, and refried beans. If i could make beans like that, I would NEVER have to coax my kiddos to eat them! The horchata was amazing and my kids could have had several more glasses. Prices are very fair and the staff very friendly.
