Blackened Grouper Sandwich with Fries.
Mike S.

Had just landed in Buffalo and was looking for a place to get lunch and my father in law suggested Bella Vista and you didn't have to pay for parking if you are eating here (it's inside of a hotel). Once seated we looked over the menu. It's their lunch/dinner menu so plenty of options but it is a little limit if your looking for something that's on the lighter side. I saw they had a Blackened Grouper Sandwich so of course that's what I went with. I was a little pricy at $25 but we are in New York and not Florida so it's more work to get it up there. Once our food came out I will say the Grouper did smell fishy but it did taste fine and the blackening gave it a good amount of flavor. I will say I wasn't a fan of the Tropical Salsa ad probably had I little too much of it on there. I will say though the fries were great. Hot, crispy, and they were seasoned fries which are some of my favorite. I also tried Ashley's Riverside Club which was also just fine. The Maple Candied Bacon on the club is really what saved it. I was great bacon and that's really all that stood out.

Cajun corn maque choux special

This is the restaurant in the Niagara Riverside Resort. We stopped here to eat along the river on a beautiful Saturday evening. The staff were all friendly and attentive. I ordered the barbecue brisket sandwich which comes with a choice of fries, Garden salad, or Caesar salad. I chose the Caesar salad which was large enough to share with my wife. The sandwich was loaded with frizzled onions and the beef was very tender. My wife ordered the Cajun corn Maque Choux, which was on the specials menu. This was a new dish to us. This had four large Cajun blackened shrimp over sweet corn with red peppers garlic and bacon. It had just the right amount of spice and was very good. This is a fine place to come and dine outdoors to enjoy the nice weather.

Fig Flatbread $10. Outstanding! Sweet and savory

What a gem this restaurant is! It has the best view and patio. It tops all the canalside places I've been too. It has a dock for boaters and faces the north Grand Island Bridge. This water leads directly to Niagara Falls. The food and drinks were excellent and very reasonably priced. We'll definitely go back

White pizza, very good. Was a little burnt on the bottom of some pieces.

Came for lunch today. Ordered the white pizza, octopus appetizer, and Caesar salad with tofu. Everything was very good. Our waiter, Michael was also very friendly and accommodating. My husband ordered coffee and had 1 refill. The charge was $3.00 for each cup, so, paid $6. for the coffee, which was weird.

What a experience, the restaurant is on the bottom floor of a nice hotel located next to the river, what a scenic view, fantastic. Let me first say the restaurant is really cozy and comfortable, the staff are so friendly, service is the tops . The menu is short and simple , our group had Salmon tacos , my fiancé had the Salmon plate and I had the English burger with a soft fried egg on top and lots of arugula and tomatoes and a sweet bacon , we also had a Tequila flight and Prosecco. Overall a very good dinner with a view, we're from San Diego visiting and it felt like a west coast atmosphere.

The delicious white pizza!

Yes, Yes and Yes! Deliciously delicious food. We visited this restaurants for New years Eve, and it was so simple to make a reservation. When we arrived we were seated right away. The waitress was so knowledgeable in the food/ drink menu. She recommended a couple of drinks based on our preference that were exactly what we wanted. Our first dish was surprise pairing of sweet and savory that went so well together " The pork belly with gritz". Our main dishes were the white pizza and the steak. 5+ stars for both. The pizza was so delicious especially the dough!! The steak was so yummy with baked potatoes and brussel sprout! We enjoyed every single bite of it. Impressed and would recommend the food based on our very good experience. Oops, I forgot to take photos of our drinks and appetizer. But here are photos of our main course! Too bad we had no room to try the dessert, but no worries that is for another visit and another review! Happy New Year!

This is a stylish restaurant. They have an excellent outdoor seating arrangement that over looks the Niagara River. The host set us up with a nice table after about a 10 minute wait in the cozy lounge. It got a tad breezy after a while and the staff had no problem accommodating us. The Bella white pizza was by far the best white pizza I've had. I will surely be back.

The worst pizza I've ever had. It tasted bland and the crust was disgusting.

Very nice view on the water, but food was subpar. Rigatoni and meatballs tasted like school lunch but garlic bread was good!

I thoroughly enjoyed it, and everything was really good. Located right on the corner going down Lundy's Lane, the place looks very simple from the outside, but once you walk through the doors you realize you are in for an elegant dining experience. Started out with a orange Pellegrino which was wonderful, they brought out some bread and this amazing honey and ricotta cheese spread. Absolutely to die for but be careful. It would be easy to fill up on that and miss out on the wonders of the meal that's coming. I started the meal off with their Caesar salad which was absolutely perfect. The right amount of dressing lettuce was second to none and it was one of the most delicious Caesars I've had. I opted for the gnocchi oso buco ragu, which was absolute perfection. Be careful though, these gnocchi are no joke. The taste will keep you eating all of them and you will absolutely be ready to take a nap afterwards. Bottom line? If you are looking for fine dining in the Niagara falls area, you would be doing yourself a disservice not going to this restaurant. It's absolutely wonderful and I highly recommend it!

Beautiful, beautiful restaurant with great atmosphere, soft music, amazing service by Juan our waiter. We started with Caesar salad and the bruschetta appetizers - Boyfriend's salad was very good. I liked the capers and strong hint of anchovies in the dressing (which he always has on the side). Bruschetta was not what I expected - I felt it was missing something, not much flavor - although the bread was super fresh and tomatoes perfectly ripe. As mains he had the Americana pizza (pepperoni) and I had the lamb, served with a citrusy risotto and rapini. I loved the lamb! Highly recommend. It was literally so tender that I didn't need the knife to cut it! We asked Juan how the cook made it that way - he wouldn't tell and said it was the kitchen's secret! It was delicious. Risotto was perfect too. I'm not a fan of rapini but it was well cooked and seasoned. Boyfriend regretted his choice a little, although he says his pizza was good - but after tasting my lamb, he was sorry he didn't choose a meat dish. I had a shot of Amaretto on ice and the cannolis for dessert. Delicious and obviously homemade. I was a bit put off that a bus boy pulled out our appetizer plates while we were still actively eating. Hint, if our forks are in our hand and we're bringing them to our mouth with food on it, we're not done yet :/ Not the first place this happens and a pet peeve of mine... but whatever. Also, the couple with 5 kids... 5 kids omg... maybe this wasn't the best restaurant choice for you if you are going to let the two small ones run wild around the dining room and almost hit a waiter with a tray of drinks... but this isn't the restaurant's fault. We will return! Worth it just for the amazing lamb, and a short 5 minute walk from the Doubletree hotel, if you are staying there!

I don't normally eat at Italian restaurants because I'm…read moreItalian and I'm very particular. We went on a recommendation from Vinny (the bartender at The Giacomo Hotel). Granted, the restaurant is in the middle of the desolate town of Niagara Falls, NY (and I mean there's nothing around), but once you step into the restaurant, you know why they're still standing after 4 generations. It's like walking onto a set of Goodfellas so I knew right away that I wasn't going to be disappointed. Danielle, our server, is the granddaughter of the original owners. I believe her brother is the chef and they continue their grandparents legacy to this day. We ordered a caprese salad to start. Gnocchi with meatballs and Eggplant parm were the entrees both served with a simple (what I call Sunday) sauce. The food was impeccable!!! What I loved is that it was clean and fresh tasting. The eggplant was not overly breaded and fried - it was stacked like layers of lasagna. The gnocchi were perfect little potato pillows! Bravo to the family!! Your grandparents would be so proud!

It was not ready when I arrived- they even told me they forgot about the order. In return, they offered to deliver it once it was ready. At first I was told 20 minutes, then that turned to 30. The food ended up arriving almost an hour after it was supposed to be ready. I am a little disappointed they didn't offer any discounts or refunds, or throw in any extras or anything for the troubles- we still paid full price. That being said, the food was actually amazing. House salad with homemade dressing 10/10 Dressing was really good. Penne & Penne Parmigiana w/ homemade tomato sauce 9/10 The noodles could have use another minute, but the sauce was really good, and I liked the penne parm better just because I love cheese. Tortellini alfredo with Chicken, mushroom, broccoli and scallions 10/10 Good sauce. The chicken was cooked great, it was really good. Homemade Meatballs 10/10 Honestly probably the best meatballs I've ever had. They were so tender, soft, and delicious. Chicken cutlets 10/10 Cooked great, the chicken was good and the fry was perfect.

So much more comfy than chairs. From walking in to the restaurant to service at our table, all the staff was welcoming and friendly. After we ordered we were asked if we wanted bread and brought three slices of DiCamillo Italian bread. One for each us and they told us to let them know if we wanted more. I really liked that they asked, so bread would not get wasted. I do wish, however, that it would have been served warm. We ordered beans and greens soup and two specials, Taste of Italy (chicken Parm, 3 ravioli and fettuccine Alfredo) and stuffed rigatoni, which both came with a choice of soup or salad. When the food came, there was an ample amount of sauce and it was nice & hot. The red sauce was good, not sweet, but not acidic either... A nice balance. The Alfredo was super creamy. My chicken parm was perfectly cooked... Thin coating perfectly crisp with tender chicken inside. The stuffed rigatoni were enjoyed by my dad... Sure enough, each rigatoni was individually stuffed and sealed on the ends as the name suggests. We all had the beans & greens soup and enjoyed it.
