Located across the street from Kleinhan's Music Hall, Bellini's serves high-end Italian Cuisine with a small, but focused menu and well thought out daily specials. This is a fine dining establishment with cloth napkins, and appropriate flatware and an environment conducive to a romantic dinner for two, or a pleasant gathering of family and friends, or serious business. It is kid friendly if the kids are well behaved as all were who were in attendance this evening. All of the food served to my table was truly excellent. Deserving of special mention is the hot stuffed banana pepper appetizer, served open and flat with a magnificent gooey cheese composition that was absolutely marvelous. And a special shout out for the desserts! The coconut cake was obviously handcrafted and made with great care. Looking at the people seated around us, we saw carrot cake and chocolate cake that looked equally scrumptious, and judging by the expressions on people's faces, likewise worthy of high praise. The portion sizes are ample and they are quick to bring take-home boxes if you request them. The wine and beer list is more than adequate to pair with anything on their creative menu. Bellini's Bistro is small and intimate, maybe a dozen tables, and all of the diners are well attended to by a dedicated wait staff. Don't be surprised if the owner herself comes out for a visit to make sure everything is to your satisfaction. I wanted more than anything to like this place. For years I had driven/walked by to see such a cute spot with great potential. Unfortunately the food here was inedible. My wife and I came here with a couple friend of ours and not one of us could eat more than two bites of our meal. The server asked us "are you not hungry" at which point we felt uncomfortable telling her we did not like the food. Edit: unfortunately I cannot reply to the comment so I will add to my review. The reason we didn't mention the food was bad is mainly because you could obviously tell our server was the owner. Not one server in Buffalo would ever be as rude or ill informed as ours. From the moment she seated us we could all tell she didn't care about our experience. The first question she asked was "are you going to a show after this" to which we replied what show, only for her to tell us we would be too late to go to any show. If the food was good I can accept bad service but in the case of Bellinis I couldn't tell you which was worse. read more

I love Bellini's Bistro. I'm always happy having dinner there. This latest visit was no exception. Everything I ordered wss just fine. The burrata on the current menu it's a delightful take on the caprese salad. The Bolognese is delicious as ever and this visit I opted for the ribeye special. I was not disappointed. But whatever you choose it will be delicious. Service is still eccentric in a good way - Probably Gary cringes when he sees me coming but I really think he's hilarious. BB is a quaint cozy bistro by Kleinhans. The meatballs with ricotta as a starter was spot on! Greek salad also nice. The filet medallions were tasty but too salty. A special, shrimp Thermidor was disappointing, it was shrimp with risotto, shrimp too small and risotto sauce too rich which I didn't eat. Thermidor can only be made as a true recipe with a large lobster tail to be enjoyed. Salmon piccata was delicious but served with the same risotto as the Thermidor. Coconut cake and carrot cake was a win win. Bella our waiter was very accommodating and a pleasure. Nice wine list as well. read more

I cook a lot and finding places to eat that are satisfying are quite difficult. We have been everywhere and as we decided to take a ride and contemplate where we would eat, to give me a break after 5 straight nights of cooking...we hopped in the car and drove around trying to figure it out, totally normal for us not to be able to decide (we are not bar food people), I literally said "there has to be a hidden gem we have never heard of".....low and behold we were driving down Pennsylvania and at the corner of Normal.....we see a small, little corner restaurant so we decide to walk in, hoping to find a bar to sit and have a bite at. What an amazing surprise!! Super cute place, the bar is adorable, there is an open dining room and a couple more private tables. Family owned and operated and Sophia (part of the family) was an amazing host and bartender. The staff was amazing and so personable, we not only had a great meal and experience but had a great time conversing with the staff. Meal was served with bread with an excellent olive tapenade. Bolognese was excellent and I love the pasta they served with it. You want to talk about a staff and family with great pride?! CHECK IT OUT! I have been to Bellini's Bistro on more than one occasion, and I know it's pricey. I love the atmosphere (I feel like I'm in NYC), and I enjoy the food. However, we had a party of 7 for dinner in December (for 2 birthday celebrations), and frankly, I was disappointed... not in the food quality but something else. We were asked if would like bread, and we did. Checking my receipt the next week, I noticed that we were charged for 2 loaves of bread at $12 each. That is ridiculous, especially when a party of 7 is going to generate a lot of money on the bill. Charging for bread, and not telling your patrons, seems a little petty. We go out to dinner a lot, and I cannot remember the last time I was charged for bread. read more

We had been wanting to go here for awhile. What a Great Place! Cozy neighborhood restaurant with a great atmosphere. They serve beer and wine with a great selection. We recommend their specialty Peach Bellini's. Salads and appetizers were nice portions and very yummy. We enjoyed the Salon and Shrimp Thermidor. Both served with a delicious risotto. Our great server treated us to a taste of their specialty Bolognese dish that is a staple on their menu. It was absolutely delicious and we all agreed we would all order this next time. The Desserts, cappuccinos & espressos were a perfect ending to this delicious meal. They are all homemade. I highly recommend the Coconut Cake!!! We can wait to return here!!! read more

I love this place! It is so cozy and romantic and the service is wonderful. The Chef however NEVER disappoints. He cooks everything to perfection. If there is a pork chop as a special you must get! Never overcooked and definitely not undercooked, and sauces that make it not taste like your everyday pork chop. The shrimp with the saffron risotto are cooked to perfection as well. Just superb. First time at this lovely restaurant! Bellinis has a very quaint , romantic and welcoming environment. It's a small place so reservations are recommended. Very good service and food. My chicken Milanese was fantastic, as was my husband's salmon dish. The wine list was more than adequate, and we were happy with our pick. (note- they only serve wine and beer). I would've liked to see a more expanded menu, however. I shared the coconut cake for dessert and although it was tasty, it was a bit dry. This is the perfect (!!!!) place to go before a concert at Kleinhan's Music Hall..... and not just because of the great location. The setting is lovely. The service is wonderful. And, the food was absolutely delicious. Being that the name of the place is "Bellini's, I had to have a Bellini before dinner. The champagne and peach nectar were delightfully refreshing as we looked at the menu. For a starter we shared a Caesar Salad which was fresh and wonderful with just the right amount of flavorful dressing, crunchy croutons, and a liberal amount of freshly grated parmesan cheese. Fresh baked bread with delicious olive tapenade was brought to the table. While everything on the menu sounded delicious, the two of us decided to each order one of the evening's specials. Since one was a steak dish and the other a scallops dish, we figured we could share half-and-half and end up with our own version of a "Surf and Turf" (how cute are we?!?). The steak (New York Strip) was cooked exactly medium, flavorful, and extremely tender. It was served with smashed skin-on red potatoes and grilled zucchini and red peppers. The scallops were cooked to wonderfully and placed atop perfectly toothsome risotto and accompanied by more of the delicious grilled veggies. Desserts are reportedly made in-house. We decided to share the tiramisu which was more like a layer cake than the traditional recipe. Still, it was flavorful and fresh with a wonderful creaminess and perfect coffee flavor. Absolutely terrible staff and owner, they were rude and disrespectful I stopped in here to grab a bite and the food was disgusting my pasta was so undercooked it felt like I bit into a rock so when I tried to get a new dish I was told I'm uneducated on how pasta is supposed to be cooked and that they would give me another dish but I'd have to pay for the one I was trying to send back and the other one as well. We had seen this place while looking at homes in the area and had been trying to make it a point to get back here, but we weren't sure of the hours and kept coming back too late. ANYWAY. we finally made it around 7:30 on a Saturday night. The dining space is small with just a few tables and a small bar by the door. We saw that they had a decent wine list so we split a bottle of chardonnay and started with the goat cheese bruschetta. We also got some table bread with tapenade which was a pleasant surprise. Entree wise I had the seafood fettuccine with an arrabiata sauce and my husband had the Bolognese. The portions were really large and we both ended up bringing some home. That being said we were too full to try dessert. On our way out we talked to the owner for a little bit who explained that it's a family restaurant and they welcomed us to the neighborhood. Bellini's is a great option before a show at kleinhans (although keep in mind there aren't that many tables) or if you want to get off the Allen strip and go somewhere a little quieter. read more

We asked for honey in the tea didnt have any yet. Olive taoenade was yummy but too salty. Dessert was freshly homemade. We ordered german chocolate. Lots of good things but lots of little touches to make it great need to be implemented. They've only been open three weeks so they're working out the kinks. We were a group of 8 for dinner after a play. We were seated and Gary, our waiter, who greeted us immediately. The food and service were excellent. The only "complaint" I can mention is that one in our party had a mussel dish and there were several empty shells. There are no vegetarian dishes on the menu but accommodations were made for one of our friends and he was very satisfied. Desserts, 3 types of cake were all very good.
