Hubby ordered breakfast and I ordered a Caribbean lunch - Pernil (roast pork) with rice and peas, plus a side order of tostones (fried plantains). This is their Tuesday special, and it was delicious bringing back memories of a dear friend's mother who would cook the same food at her NJ bodega. I finished my lunch and couldn't eat another bite, even though homemade flan is available. Next time, which will be very soon!

The person next to me, a former Tampa resident, had eaten Cuban sandwiches for thirty years and said that what we got, in her opinion, was what a Cuban should be.
