    Cuban sandwich $13
    Chris T.

This may not be flashy but this place gets a lot of love from the locals. We walk up and before we even see the menu we hear "it's gonna be 10 min but it's going to be the best Cuban you've ever had!". And that sentiment seemed to be enthusiastically shared by everyone there. And omg, once we got it, we could see why. The menu is small but it's for a reason, the Cuban sandwich $13, is absolutely phenomenal and a great portion for sharing. If you're passing through Spring Hill and looking for lunch, go on by.

Holy moly, this Cuban sandwich has got to be one of the BEST I've ever had. I'm a picky girl considering my husband is half Cuban! We visited right after visiting the springs and it was the perfect stop before heading back! We got there a little before the rush but it's best to order ahead of time. We waited about 10 minutes for our sandwich. Just went with the classic Cuban sandwich for $13 since it was our first visit. When I opened the sandwich in the car I was impressed with how heavy it was. Literally perfect to share and lots of meat inside. The cheese was perfectly melted, pickles were perfect, flavorful pork and perfect sauce. The owner is super friendly and you won't go wrong getting a Cuban sandwich here! Just note it's cash only. Such a great sandwich!

As usual Ray doesn't disappoint, excellent Cubano and he turned me onto the amazing Pollo Fricisado (spelling?). You gotta go see Ray he's the better than Miami!

Extremely greasy. I order 2 Cubans to go and the bag they were in was greasy and the sandwiches themselves. The bread was soggy.

When placing my order I asked the server which was the award winning sandwich. She didn't know ... I to go and ask the cashier. I found my sandwich to be nothing special. Wanting to be fair I looked at other reviews here, many five star, and did see a reviewer mention "little meat and hard bread" my experience exactly. The interior was cozy but nothing memorable. Would I go back? This is over an hour drive from me. There was nothing special about the Cuban sandwiches that I would go back for. Based on other reviews maybe ordering something else would have provided a more memorable experience. If I am ever in the neighborhood it might be worth another try. P.S. I am no expert on Cuban sandwiches. Last night I dined at a local establishment and ordered a Cuban for comparison. Sandwich was smaller, stuffed with ingredients, and the bread was pressed but soft. The person next to me, a former Tampa resident, had eaten Cuban sandwiches for thirty years and said that what we got, in her opinion, was what a Cuban should be.

I was not familiar with many foods on the menu, but I was adventurous and tried the special: Pastelon de Amarillo's - ground beef, cheeses, sweet plantains in a round dish. I asked for sweet plantains for a side. Next time I'll choose something else. That was too many plantains for me. Husband had grilled skirt steak with red beans & white rice. He ate almost everything - left some of the rice. He really enjoyed his dinner, and he, too, would like to return. Andrew was our wait staff and he was efficient and friendly. The prices were reasonable, and our booth was comfortable. I took home half of my meal as I didn't want to stuff myself. When reheated the next day, it was just as good. The Grouper Three Ways was delightful as well -- each preparation brought out different flavors and textures that made the dish feel fun and elevated. I'll be honest, it's not the cheapest spot in town, but they offer an early bird special that is totally worth giving a try. Great value for the quality you get. And don't sleep on the drinks!
