The dentist told me that repairing the tooth was unlikely but possible, and that extraction was the more likely outcome. I was fine with those possibilities and expected that he would examine the tooth and then let me decide how to proceed. I was quoted approximately $4,000 for an extraction and implant, or $1,200 to repair the crown--even with insurance. I thought, "Fair enough, let's see if the tooth can be saved." This is where things got strange. The dentist never actually examined the tooth beyond looking at the X-ray. He was unwilling to remove the crown, which I had temporarily reattached with dental cement, in order to properly evaluate the tooth. Instead, it felt like the focus immediately shifted to getting me to commit to the $4,000 treatment plan. When I asked for an examination, I could hear him raising his voice to the receptionist in the hallway, and I felt pressured to make a decision on the spot. They also recommended repairing two fillings and quoted another $1,000 for that work. I have dental insurance, and I've also paid cash for dental work elsewhere, so I have a reasonable basis for comparison. This experience felt unusually sales-driven and uncomfortable. The dentist was rude, dismissive, and repeatedly spoke about my mouth as if it were in terrible condition. I've never had a dentist speak to me that way before. The entire interaction felt more like a scare tactic than a genuine effort to explain my options and help me make an informed decision. I left feeling pressured, uncomfortable, and without the thorough examination I came in expecting.

The first thing I noticed that he was sweating a lot I wasn't sure if he was sick. The main concern was he had black nail polish on a several bracelets with accessories dangling from his wrist loosely. I haven't been to the dentist in a while, so I don't know if it's policy to have nail polish on in Luce bracelets that if you're doing any work in the mouth hygienically the bracelets that can touch my face. But the real problem is, he did not have gloves on. He asked me to open my mouth and he proceeded to try to put his finger in my mouth. I told him you should put on gloves he did say he forgot. He the x ray technician got distracted and notice on my intake form. I forgot to fill out allergy section. I told him I'm allergic to penicillin. He removed his face mask, licked his fingers and went through the paperwork to see if I didn't complete the other sections and then forgot to put gloves back on. I had to remind him to wash your hands and put gloves on. I stated I did not want to get sick it should be safety measures in Place every thing should be clean be sanitized. I told him you have to have gloves on. What he said to me was wild he asked me do I have problem with saliva. I stated yes other people saliva! A few other dentists told me that I wouldn't be able to fix my teeth with Invisalign because my canine teeth were so bad. But Dr. Javdan was confident that he could help me, and he was absolutely right! My teeth were pretty stubborn, but he kept working with me and helped me get the smile I always wanted. I used to hide my teeth when I smiled, but now I can proudly show my smile! He also saved one of my teeth without me having to go through a root canal. When I needed bonding to protect my tooth from future damage, he did it so quickly and did an amazing job. You might find a cheaper dentist and think you're saving money, but honestly, in the long run, I think Dr. Javdan will save your teeth and save you money from having to deal with bigger problems later. I went in because I chipped a tooth. They said they can't repair the tooth and that they will have to give me a crown. They charged me $1450 for the crown. After getting the crown, I found that I was extremely sensitive to cold and it hurt when I bit down on food. Still hurst two weeks later so they adjusted the crown by essentially shaving it down. (I'm sorry, I don't know what the correct medical term is.) Two after that same thing, same result. They ended up shaving it down TOO MUCH and my bite is off by a lot. I'm still sensitive to cold and it still hurts when I bite down on food. Shortly after all this adjusting happened, A CROWN that this same office had put in about three and a half years earlier FELL OUT OF MY MOUTH. Crowns shouldn't last that short amount of time but the one this office put in fell out. Something felt off about this dental office so I changed dentists. When I asked for all my records the assistant was hesitant to give them to me. Asked me why do you need them? Because they are mine and I want them. It took three tries and a visit to the office in person for them to finally e-mail me everything, but even then instead of just e-mailing me the records, I got asked multiple questions like "which ones do you need," and "why do you need them?" I went to me new dentist and upon hearing that I went to Dental Group of Beverly Hills she exclaimed "TOTAL SCAMMER. Know this guy. HE SCAMMED YOU BIG TIME!" She also informed me that he did not officially charge me for a crown. He reported an onlay/inlay. She looked at my bill and my insurance and said that insurance would have covered a crown. By charging me for an onlay/inlay he made an extra $1300 off of me. I tool this information and I filed a grievance with Health Net. They determined that my options were not fully explained to me and REFUNDED ME IN FULL. Who knows how many other of their patients this has happened to. Take note that all of the above is not my opinion. It's factual events that happened. The only opinion is that I recommend you do not have any work done at this office.

The second you walk in it feels more like a luxury spa than a dentist's office. It's beautiful, calm, and bright! It felt like a 5 Star hotel lobby or spa lobby and very spacious. My concern was that I often felt encouraged toward higher-cost treatments without receiving explanations that gave me confidence they were necessary. For example, when I was told I needed a deep cleaning, I don't recall being given a clear explanation based on the condition of my teeth at the time beyond the fact that I had received one previously. I raised concerns beforehand, incurred additional expense afterward, and felt dismissed when I returned seeking help. More broadly on more than one occasion, I often felt pressured to add services and then told they were essentially "free" or "only a few dollars" because the charges could be applied against my $150 deposit or membership credit. That logic never made sense to me. It's still my money. It felt like the office would recommend additional treatments and then use money I had already paid to make the cost sound insignificant. The whole thing felt more like a sales tactic than transparent healthcare pricing. What really made me question things was when I showed my treatment plan and charges to a few dentist friends. Several of them were surprised by some of the extra fees and told me those were things many dentists typically don't charge for separately. I understand every office is different, but by that point it was hard not to feel like the practice was looking for every opportunity to bill for something. 2) I lost confidence after a crown procedure. Before getting a crown, I specifically told the dentist that I used Invisalign and even brought my trays with me. I was assured the crown would be shaped so my trays would still fit afterward. The crown itself was fine, but my Invisalign trays no longer fit. I ended up having to spend hundreds of dollars and significant time getting new trays made. To make matters worse, the office later told me they would try to help by providing a complimentary scan. Based on that conversation, I made a special trip back to the office, only to be told when I arrived that they couldn't do it after all. The whole interaction felt very dismissive. No one seemed particularly concerned that I had made the trip based on their earlier assurances, and there was little effort to take accountability for the situation. 3) The stellar reviews make more sense now. Patients are offered complimentary services (such as fluoride treatments) in exchange for leaving a review, and you're asked to show the review before receiving the free service. While everyone is free to leave whatever review they want, it definitely made me view the overwhelmingly positive ratings a little differently. To be fair, the office is beautiful and many of the employees are genuinely kind. But between the upselling, the Invisalign issue, the communication problems, and the review incentives, I ultimately decided to take my dental care elsewhere.

But if I have an emergency or something where I need to cancel, then they charge $75. It's ridiculous. They have no accountability for their staff but make the patients pay for their incompetence. Not to mention the emphasis they put on being on time. However several times I've had a 30min/hour start to my appointment because their staff is running late. Sometimes from their lunch time. I have to take time off work to come to my appointment, but they can't start on time to save their life. Ridiculous.

1st off Dr. Kalasho closed this office…read more I had Dr. Kalasho do a root canal and the crown and remove my wisdoom tooth in Jan 2025. I had no problems with the work done, or at least I though so.. In the spring of 2025, I went for a checkup, and Dr Kalasho was on leave and her replacement told me I developed another 2 cavities... just a few months after the original cavity was fixed. I couldnt believe my ears and I agreed to fix it. However, they had just closed the Hollywood office, and the closest location would have then been in Beverly Hills and I had no interest in visiting not even once. And I didnt have time to look for a new denist in the area. Fast forward to the spring 2026, I went to 2 different reputable denists in the area and they both said I had no cavity in that tooth.. I was in awe. Questions came flashing back.. Why every time did I have to sign the waiver 10x longer and more specific than at other denist's I have gone to? Why I was charged 5k for a crown that another denist said did not have that u-shape that teeth have to block most of the food in between the teeth? Was it as bad as I was made to believe? I don't know. But my suspicious makes sense. The office and the equipmennt that looked better than I have seen in Hollywood movies. Friendly chit-chat WITH LITERALLY EVERYONE in the office. Talking about families, sharing personal stories, laughing together. And then the friendly by the way reminder.. Do you want to prepay? Let's take care of this bill right away etc etc. At the end of the day, however, I couldnt shake the feeling how forced the interactions appeared. Too good to be true, fake.
