I've never been in during day time but this is BY FAR the best taco truck in San Jose. I drive from downtown and stop by whenever I'm on my way home from the city or Oakland late night. It's that good. The way that they flavor their carnitas is and their pastor is . The tacos are sooo good of course but man their quesadillas... amazing. Just the right balance of tortilla and cheese to compliment the meat. The sauce is so complementary but not overpowering. Their grilled onions come with every plate and are a highlight for sure as well. Overall just the highlight of any night I get to go.

Menudo to hit the soul. Trust.

Legit hood eats. Janky parking lot with chewed up asphalt, next door to a laundromat with peeps constantly going in and out, and the possibility of someone laying down on the sidewalk. But none of that stopped me from giving this place an impromptu whirl. So good I came back twice in one week cuz I was in the area anyways. The place is huge with a lot of tables, many are for groups of 4 or more. You can easily fit a group of 10+ here no prob, just not sure how often that happens tho. Actually on both early dinners like 5ish, there actually weren't a whole lot of diners in there. Actually saw more take out than peeps eating in. Place actually reminds me of a standard resto in Mexico, very no frills and most go for the food, versus ambiance. I saw a sign for karaoke during the later evenings, so not sure if that draws a bigger crowd. Sometimes it does. Fish Taco ($5ish/4*) This is a sauteed fish taco, not a deep fried fish one. It is fairly large like 4-5 bites and is stacked quite well. Nicely seasoned small chunks of fish lay in a warm corn tortilla. It is topped with cabbage, salsa and some sliced avocado. I ate this as an app with a beer before my menudo and was quite pleased. Menudo ($15ish/5*) Totally legit, better than most from my area in the burbs. Nice sized bowl of steaming hot broth, quite viscous and sticky. The kind where if it were refrigerated, the broth would congeal into a solid gelatin mass. Good balance of chiles and seasonings, I had no desire to season further. Just added the garnishments of diced raw onion, crumbled oregano leaves and a hard squeeze of lemon. No hominy, which I tend to prefer, but I never dock a place for ever using it. When it is all protein, it just seems more premium and indulgent. The simmered tripe were perfect. Perfectly cut in nice chunks that fit onto a spoon nicely, and most importantly perfectly tender and silky. I'm actually craving this now as I'm recalling it. And the soft tripe pieces totally absorbed into the broth that it melded as one. With bites of warm thick corn tortillas and this super warm bowl of comfort and a cold Pacifico, just made time stop for me on a cool rainy spring evening. 2nd out I came after work and I was starving. This time I sat down and got table service, as I didn't know how it worked on my first out. I ordered at the counter a few days before. I like the table service much more as I can just go into chill mode. Mary Chelada Con Camaron ($17ish/4.5*) Monster goblet of a michelada then topped with freshly grilled shrimps coated in a spicy coating. The shrimps arrived hot which I was not expecting. I had to let them cool a bit, but the bites of the spicy shrimps then sips of michelada was the perfect appetizer when I was hangry. Enchiladas Michoacanas ($18ish/4.5*) I had no idea what this was, but I was ready for an adventure. They did ask me if I wanted beef or chicken, and I chose beef. What came out was a nice surprise that totally threw me for a loop. I'll break down the elements of the platter as it multi-faceted. Actually when it first arrived I wasn't even sure if I received the right dish, as the enchiladas are totally not visible upon arrival. You have to dig and unbury them from a slew of other elements on the plate. So them enchiladas that are way on the bottom of the plate are not what most Americans would think of when ordering enchiladas. First they are not rolled like a cigar or cylinder. Rather it is corn tortillas filled a strong cheese much like feta, folded in half like a taco, then lightly fried to absorb some oil, then simmered in light but nicely chile flavored red sauce. I'll actually probably never roll enchiladas again, I'll just do a simple fold and shingle them along. It was a very good and basic cheese enchilada. Then they top 3-4 of those enchiladas with a ton of shredded raw cabbage. I thought it was strange, but the crunch with the warm food actually made a nice contrast. I didn't eat all the cabbage as there were just so much, but I thoroughly enjoyed the vegetative crunch. And on top of all that cabbage was a nice slab of well seasoned carne asada. Carne asada is always quite well done and a bit chewy, but if you're familiar with real Mexican food, that is just the way it is. Don't expect anything pink or medium rare or any premium cuts like a ribeye. It is just part of this culture's cuisine. Then off to the side of the plate laid nice planks of lightly fried potato. Another twist that threw me for a loop. So to take bites of this, along the beef, then the well saturated cheese enchiladas, just made for a very filling and satisfying beef and potato meal with an authentic ethnic twist. I'll be back for more of their offerings, since I'll be in the area a lot more these days. My kind of Mexican food outing fasho.

I've been dying to try La Enramada for quite some time and with it being so close to my family's home, the constant passing by only added to my desire. I made the decision to come here for a quick catch up lunch this past Sunday for a few reasons: 1) there was outdoor seating and indoor seating available 2) menudo is served on Sundays & 3) I just so happened to have a sitter for my daughter. Our party arrived prior to the crowds coming and not a single person greeted us. We decided to seat ourselves and walked inside to request for menus. I was informed someone would come out and assist us. The menu is EXTENSIVE so don't be shy about taking your time. It took us a while to decide on our orders but we opted for: 3 chavelas, 1 Pacifico, 2 horchatas, coke, burrito mojado, 5 tacos, 2 orders of menudo, & pancake patter. Food took a lifetime to come out and the female workers repeatedly came by our table and ask us to show our table #. Things were very unorganized and the workers seemed very very confused. The burrito and tacos came out first, sat out, & got cold as we waited for the rest of the order to come. Menudo took more time that expected since you'd assume the stew was sitting piping hot, readily on the stove. Both orders came out but one was missing condiments- WTF?? The pancakes arrived but we were informed that they were out of breakfast sausage and substituted it with hash browns instead. Taste: menudo was delicious!! It was made extremely well and although the dish contained a lot more liquid than ingredients, the homemade tortillas provided with the meal made up for that. The beef tripe was cleaned perfectly and did not have a dirty smell or taste. Carne asada tacos were over cooked and dry while the lengua was tender and flavorful. Burrito mojado was huge in size and will leave you stuffed to the brim. Pancake after wasn't anything special. I wanted to give La Enramada Restaurant Y Taqueria 3 stars but had to deduct 1 due to service issues. There was no justification for all of the confusion since we arrived prior to the crowds of people and to see tables who arrived after us getting their food first was annoying. Food was pretty good but if I make a return I'd opt for take out. Sitting here and dealing with the headache of people being clueless isn't worth it.

Lingua, al pastor and asada tacos

It was our first time here and they had a taco truck in front of the restaurant for late night munchies. We ordered lingua, al pastor and asada tacos. Everything was pretty tasty, but we had a large order and unfortunately we did not check our orders before we drove home. We realized that we were missing 4 al pastor tacos. Overall, the tacos tasted good, reasonable pricing, and workers were nice, but we were disappointed that we paid for 15 tacos total and only received 11. Be sure to check your food before you drive off. However, I would come back to order tacos again and maybe try their restaurant.

Open late, the food was great, had a carnitas Mojado burrito + Michelada. There was also karaoke that was fun.

It's been two years since the last time I ate here. I remember how good their homemade tortillas were. But this time it looks completely different might be new owners and remodeling being done. The tacos were OK the tortillas weren't homemade. Burrito was huge but basic. I also got the menudo but it needed more salt, they provided oregano and dried chilies on the side that you can add in your soup which made it more flavorful. The service was excellent overall.

My coworkers and I went here to celebrate a birthday. The service was great and the food came really fast which tasted delicious!

Absolutely delicious. I would recommend the BBQ pork "pastor" burrito. Was crispy and tasty. I'm very picky with meat, but I didnt find any cartilage. Only complaint would be the steep price, but I'd still come back if it were more expensive. Keep it up!

Enchiladas Michoacanas and Molcajete de Mariscos

Love this place! If you're looking for a meat and seafoods dishes, this restaurant is a place to go. We tried the Enchiladas Michoacanas and Molcajete de Mariscos and they're both good and will fill you up so much! (I recommend eating them with your bare hands only!) The senorita who took my order and served us is really friendly. We'll definitely be back here with empty stomach to finish those humongous meal!

It's easy to call the place a few hours in advance to make the reservation, and the staff are very friendly. There's plenty of parking outside, and it's right next to Little Saigon! It's $78/hour for the mid-sized room (5-8 people), plus a 17% service charge. In my experience, that's a pretty standard rate in the South Bay. The great thing about Genting Karaoke, though, is that they allow you to bring in your own food and drinks! I don't know of any other karaoke spot nearby that allows this at no extra cost. Standard selection of songs on YouTube, plus colorful lights to make for a fun space for you and your friends to sing your hearts out.

Their website says they close at 10pm. I got there at around 7:30pm and wasn't able to place my order until 7:44pm. The waitress might be new, but she had to get the e-menu to know what flavor of shakes they offered (3, choc, vanilla, and strawberry). I was initially seated at a table and then moved to the bar. I ordered a calzone and shake for here and a pizza to go. Then they started cleaning up. I could have taken everything to go, but the communication was so bad. IF they wanted to close up, they should really not leave a customer hanging and waiting. Apparently both the calzones and pizzas were packed to go without any communication. And also apparently, bone were the calzones and pizzas were ready for 30 minutes and the waitress was just busy closing up (then give me my order) so u can close up. I live 4 miles away and by the time I got home, everything was cold. So I couldn't tell you how the food was except that it was cold. Cold pizza is a zero star for me. Then when it came to pay, no one knew what INKIND (really annoying app, avoid at all cost) was. I asked for the check number and they're like what, " just tap your credit card." I had to insist on getting the check number to pay through the app. Even after I paid, the manager wouldn't let me go. He kept holding the pos checkout thing and saying, if the order hasn't gone away, then you haven't paid, you need to tap. I said, you need to refresh. And when he refreshed, my check disappeared (duh) because it's been paid for and he still insisted that I haven't paid. So he goes to the actual terminal and effin stares at the screen for another 10minutes wondering why a paid check disappeared from his queque. I showed him on the app and offered to show him through email that it's been paid. He was just possessed and kept staring that pos terminal. and then he's like, I'll just take your word for it. How offensive, like I'm going to try to lie. I showed you on so many avenues that the check was paid and closed (your actual pos terminal, my app, my email receipt, etc.) Anyway, this place looks like it's going to close soon the way it was like a ghost bar on a sunday night.
