Super quesabirria and Al Pastor taco. Both really good.
    Jason P.

The al pastor taco was really good. Delicious and had crispy bits that have it more texture. The super quesobirria was loaded with cheese.

One thing I like about La Chingada is it's location. It's quiet and calm. It's away from the busyness of the city. First, the food came out quickly and the food itself was good/standard. In terms of pricing, it's standard. We ordered an al pastor burrito, 2 tacos, and crazy fries. Overall enjoyable, will come back if we're in the area.

Service is quick and the food is good. The servings are worth the price. The chips can be stale sometimes. The horchata is perfect to go with hot-mild sauce on the tacos. The restaurant is clean. The menu finally got an upgrade. It's not as busy and easier to figure out what you want to order.

Circled parts are meat. Who knows how much more there is in the rest of the burrito.

This is NOT okay. I ordered a shrimp burrito. My burrito was falling apart (fine I don't care, it happens, I'll eat with a fork and knife if I have to) but when I pulled this burrito apart I found MEAT in it. I ordered shrimp for a reason, because I have been avoiding meat for religious reasons. This is absolutely not okay and now I have to throw away an otherwise perfectly good meal. One or two pieces of meat I would have just nudged off to the side but to have the meat present in every part of the burrito is just annoying! This place needs to fix its cross contamination procedures because this is unacceptable.

I ordered the super nachos. The overwhelming amount of oil and the canned refried beans was a no for me. What a waste of $$

Pretty good carne asada fries. Used to be my high school spot for after school so I decided to go back. Tacos have mediocre amounts of meat and the flavor isn't good. Salsa isn't great either, chips are too oily but the fries are great.

I went because it was close to the library and I was starving. I am so glad I did because the meal hit the spot in the best way possible. Only four stars instead of five is because the steak was too tough to eat but everything else on that plate got demolished. The service was very fast at getting me food and you can tell that the major avenue is takeout. Inside was absolutely beautiful with two of the walls having artist murals where you can actually tell who is who. I'm so glad I stumbled upon this place. Very reasonably priced and again absolutely delicious.

I was in the area and decided to revisit this place. I was wanting to try their Agua Fresca Lime & Cucumber. This is so delicious and refreshing! Another customer who ordered the same took a sip and said, "Dang, I could drink all this is a samp!" It was that good. The service was super nice and friendly.

I absolutely LOVE the food here! I've never dined in but I've had it delivered multiple times. Wonderful flavors and good sized portions.

¡Que la chingada! Very little meat & mostly filler in their "Jumbo" carnitas burrito.
    Sisto P.

I ordered (2) jumbo burritos (carnitas & cabeza), at $16 each for my son & I. I expected a lot more meat for the price they charged. There was way too much filler & all that wet produce made a big sloppy mess. The little meat that was there was really soggy. I've had way better for way less prices. ¡Qué la chingada!

Fast pace no thrill Mexican food takeout/restaurant in North San Jose area that has been here forever but GF and I just discovered. Arrived for early dinner and place was popular with school kids! Basically order at the counter and the bring food to your table. Prices are very reasonable. GF and I shared a combo plate and super nachos which was a Wednesday special with drink. The place has few tables inside and seating outside as well. Nice mural on the wall. I enjoyed the meal especially the carnitas. The beans was on point for me. Chili Relleno was ok and super nacho was great. Chips held up nicely as they are thick so didn't get soggy. I will be returning to try other items on menu.

Everything looked very clean when we walked in. My friend loved her shrimp & octopus cocktail. She let me try some and I thought it was so fresh!! While she got something to cool down, I went with a hotter option - birria ramen. First off I didn't realize how big the portion would be. Lots and lots of noodles, meat and consome. My favorite part of course was that they threw a quesabirria taco into the ramen. It felt like a little extra treat lol. Will pass on the horchata next time- was a little too watered down tasting for me. Overall enjoyed my food and definitely wanna come back.

I didn't know that you could call for a reservation, or get on their waitlist with Yelp. I was going to do my order to go, when I was asked if I wouldn't mind sitting at the bar. Not at all. I was seated right away, and I was helped by Allison, who was also tending bar. She was a very nice lady, and she took very good care of me. The restaurant has. A nautical theme to it. I decided to go with the Cajun chowder, and the softshell crab po' boy. . My food comes quickly, and the order was huge! It was a very good, rich chowder, with just a tiny bit of a "zip" from the Cajun spices. They definitely gave it a good flavor. There were lots of goodies inside. The one thing about the chowder, was they didn't take out the bay leaves, and I did get a couple.. I just put them off to the side. I'm not going to take off a star, because the chowder was so good. Hey, It happens.... The po' boy was huge! The softshell crab was not over breaded. I could taste the crab with no problem, and it was a little bit sweet, a little bit savory, with that wonderful "crabby" flavor. The roll was a soft roll, , but it still held up to the sandwich extremely well The lettuce, and tomato were crisp and fresh . The Cajun fries, had a little bit of a zip to them, but not too much. they came with ketchup, and their house Cajun sauce. I didn't even touch the ketchup. The sandwich already had some Cajun sauce on it, I put a little bit more. The rest, I used to dip the fries. I only made it halfway through the sandwich, and the fries. The rest came back to my room with me for another great meal. I also got another little "tub" of that sauce to take with me. The entire time, Alison was so personable, , we chatted a little bit about this and that... She is definitely an asset to that restaurant. (Tell her boss to give her a raise...:). The price was extremely reasonable for such a wonderful meal, and they also have a military/veterans discount this was such a great meal, I would gladly come back here again. Thank you so very much

After today's visit, though... I finally understand why the second location closed. Ordered: Shackie's Sauce (Hot) Shrimp & Mussels Combo Snow Crab Clusters Garlic Noodles Garlic Fries The seafood boil was nowhere near the quality it used to be. The corn tasted old, the shrimp and snow crab didn't taste fresh, and the snow crab clusters had barely any meat. By the time I cracked everything open, it felt like there was more shell than seafood. The mussel shells even had barnacles on them, which I've never seen here before. It made the seafood feel like it hadn't been cleaned as well as it should have. The garlic fries were crispy, but that's it. It was weird--I could see the garlic and was literally eating it, yet there was no garlic flavor. The garlic noodles used to be one of my favorite items because they were bold and packed with garlic. Now they've definitely toned the flavor down, and they're just not the same anymore. It's honestly disappointing because this place used to be one of my favorite seafood spots. The food quality has clearly declined while the prices have continued to go up. I hope they can get back to what made this place so good, but based on today's experience, I can't recommend it anymore.

Unfortunately, today's experience was nowhere near what we remembered. We ordered a pound of king crab, snow crab & shrimp, and snow crab with Cajun fries -- definitely not a cheap order. We were also told we couldn't order or pay over the phone because of the cost, which was already a little frustrating. But the food was the real disappointment. The sauce was extremely watered down, to the point that the seasoning wouldn't even stick to the shrimp, crab, potatoes, or corn. The crab itself was flimsy and somehow tasted dry like it wasn't fresh, and several of the claws had little to no meat in them. Being a pescatarian, and I can honestly say I've never thrown away a pound of king crab until today. For what king crab costs, that says everything. We used to love this place, which is why this experience was especially disappointing.

My partner and I specifically come here specifically for their Picanha steaks which are extremely high quality and affordable. They taste fantastic with chimichurri or even just with flaky salt because of how buttery the steaks are on their own.
