Tucked away in the neighborhood, this little taqueria is honestly a hidden gem. The food tastes incredibly fresh, full of flavor, and you can tell they put care into everything they make. Plenty of great options on the menu whether you want tacos, burritos, or something more traditional. The staff were also super friendly and welcoming, which made the experience even better. I came here with two friends after a weekday hike. There is a sign with daily specials up. One friend got the Wednesday special- nachos with agua Fresca or soda, another friend got the tostada plate, and I got two tacos- carne asada and al pastor. The place was pretty empty when we arrived around 8 pm on a Wednesday. After we got in line to order some other folks arrived for take out orders. I enjoyed the chips and salsa bar- the sauces were fresh and flavorful. My tacos were tasty- but came with a salsa that was too spicy for me -- I'm a spice lightweight. I ordered on the kiosk at the entry and didn't see an option to order with mild salsa or salsa on the side. I definitely would have enjoyed my tacos without less spicy salsa. I had recently had dental work and spicy and hard food was a bit uncomfortable for me. There was an option to order self serve at a kiosk or at the cash register with a staff member. One thing I like about La Chingada is it's location. It's quiet and calm. It's away from the busyness of the city. First, the food came out quickly and the food itself was good/standard. This is NOT okay. I ordered a shrimp burrito. My burrito was falling apart (fine I don't care, it happens, I'll eat with a fork and knife if I have to) but when I pulled this burrito apart I found MEAT in it. I ordered shrimp for a reason, because I have been avoiding meat for religious reasons. This is absolutely not okay and now I have to throw away an otherwise perfectly good meal. One or two pieces of meat I would have just nudged off to the side but to have the meat present in every part of the burrito is just annoying! This place needs to fix its cross contamination procedures because this is unacceptable. read more

I went because it was close to the library and I was starving. I am so glad I did because the meal hit the spot in the best way possible. Only four stars instead of five is because the steak was too tough to eat but everything else on that plate got demolished. The service was very fast at getting me food and you can tell that the major avenue is takeout. Inside was absolutely beautiful with two of the walls having artist murals where you can actually tell who is who. I'm so glad I stumbled upon this place. I'm a bit surprised this place is only rated 3.8 stars as I type this. This is one of my favorite taquerias. So why 4 stars not 5? Well, in about 4 years they've gone from about $9 for a super burrito to $16 (and it's across the board on all their food). Yes, I know that's not too uncommon for a burrito in the Bay Area these days, and yes I know inflation has been bad, but not THAT bad. Other than that, this place is fantastic. The food is really good. Pro tip: Try the alambre. It's great. The people are friendly and professional. And they'll even bring your food to your table for you sometimes. The decor is fine. Fast pace no thrill Mexican food takeout/restaurant in North San Jose area that has been here forever but GF and I just discovered. Arrived for early dinner and place was popular with school kids! Basically order at the counter and the bring food to your table. Prices are very reasonable. GF and I shared a combo plate and super nachos which was a Wednesday special with drink. The place has few tables inside and seating outside as well. Nice mural on the wall. I enjoyed the meal especially the carnitas. The beans was on point for me. Everything looked very clean when we walked in. My friend loved her shrimp & octopus cocktail. She let me try some and I thought it was so fresh!! While she got something to cool down, I went with a hotter option - birria ramen. First off I didn't realize how big the portion would be. Lots and lots of noodles, meat and consome. My favorite part of course was that they threw a quesabirria taco into the ramen. It felt like a little extra treat lol. I came here because I've been on a taco binge and I hate when people don't try the food and leave a bad review, but when the person taking your order can't comprehend what you want it makes a difficult to try the food. I attempted to order a pastor and super carne tacos everything on it. I asked if they sell the orange sauce she said with an equivocal yes...so I asked you sell the orange sauce right? She pointed to a sign that was hanging on the window where orders are taken, but all it had was a picture of 2 loca sauces - green and orange. I asked how much? She said two. I asked two for what? How much for just the orange sauce? She then pointed at the orange sauce at the sauce bar with an annoyed look. I acknowledged her and said yes, how much to purchase to go? She then said ok two tacos pastor and asada and was about to put my order up. I've not been wanting to deal with nonsense and repeating myself when trying to order food. I'm not asking for anything difficult and in this case there weren't any modifications to the food, just wanting to pay extra to take some orange sauce home. I ultimately said I don't want to order and walked out. No prices were given for the two tacos I was trying to order and couldn't get an answer if I could pay more money to buy orange sauce to go. My first time visiting this place! What caught my eye was the lady out in front making handmade corn tortillas- the aroma caught my attention! I had stopped in the same shopping center for a tea house nearby. I ordered a regular carne asada burrito. Place was busy yet clean! Staff was pretty attentive, friendly and helpful. Oh and I ordered a side of tortillas just to taste- it definitely wasn't disappointing- Burrito was flavorful and huge! So big that it was falling apart as I was eating it. Glad I found this spot! My son and I were lucky to find this place that was open so last minute since he was starving after his wrestling match down the street. He got a quesadilla and I got an horchata and we were on our way! I actually loved the mural that was to the far right of the register. It was more towards the lobby area and it had a bunch of inspirational people painted on it. There were two family sitting back there, so I didn't want to take a picture of it, but you should definitely check it out for yourself! The service was very quick and we noticed they had a number of DoorDash orders/called in orders that were ahead of us, but the food took about 10 minutes to get and we are on our way. Sadly, I didn't get a picture of my son's quesadilla, because he was starving and inhaled it, but it smelled delicious and my Horchata was perfect and hit the spot! The only drawback I would say for this particular establishment was it was a little rundown since there's a fenced off Store to the front of the parking lot and I couldn't tell where the actual parking lot was for the establishment, so I parked on the street. It's right by the fire station so I figured our car was safe but still it was a bit odd to me parking on the street and running in really quick. I added a horchata at the behest of the cashier. To begin, the horchata was the right amount of sweetness. It tasted thick and not watered down. They also didn't overfill it with ice; I was surprised with how much liquid was in there. Second, the meat on the tacos was very flavorful, and paired with the green (spicy) salsa, it was delicious.
