Amazing breakfast! Huge biscuits with a variety of butters and jams to try. I got a breakfast…read moresandwich with fried chicken. Crispy biscuit and fried chicken. I should've gotten the egg over easy instead of scrambled but that's on me. Hubby had the Ranchos Herveros (probably spelled that wrong). Great flavor and heat from the sauce. The restraurant was doing a benefit for a women's shelter too which was great. Counter service and nice atmosphere.

The menu is filled with scratch-made Southern fare as well as cocktails, craft beer, coffee, and specialty lattes courtesy of Mel's Morning Surge. The restaurant also has a jam bar which features 4 different scratch-made jams: blueberry lavender, strawberry basil, red pepper, ginger peach and butters: maple, regular, sweet potato, and pecan. I wasn't able to try these on my first visit, but will most definitely try these on my second. The staff made a good impression, too. They were pleasant, knowledgeable about their menu items and welcoming. The items I tried that were instant faves: THE HANGOVER - Buttermilk biscuit, fried chicken, bacon, scrambled eggs, candied jalapeños, topped with homemade gravy. BANANA PECAN PANCAKES - 3 pancakes, bananas, candied pecans, cream cheese frosting, caramel syrup, pecan butter. CINNAMON ROLL LATTE - ($5) - courtesy of Mel's Morning Surge, the restaurant's in-house vendor, which offers lattes, both traditional and seasonal*, in the following flavors: vanilla, caramel, hazelnut, mocha, white mocha, toasted marshmallow*, pumpkin spice*, and apple crisp*.

We enjoyed half a classic crêpe, a lemon fruit pastry, a scoop of cotton candy ice cream, and a chocolate chicken drumstick. All items received a thumbs up. Service was friendly. I do have some constructive criticism though, while I understand that some items like the fruit pastries obviously taste the part, there are other items with no description as to what they contain. I understand that your staff is supposed to answer questions, but I could tell that after a whole day of explaining what's inside what, it can become tiring. Some labels of description would go a long way and give staff more time to focus on getting ordered items ready for customers. We came during a time when it wasn't busy at all, but I can't imagine what it would be like if there's a line out the door and every single customer may ask staff the same questions. Anyway, wonderful treats and would return! Thank you for being part of our community and looking forward to your second location opening. Happy yelping!

This place doesn't disappoint. I had forgotten they change the menu 3 times a day based on the fresh ingredients they have on hand. This day they had a brisket sandwich with fries, which I substituted for a delicious garden salad. You really can't go wrong.

The service was…read moreprompt and friendly, and the ambiance was clean and well-decorated inside and on the heated, screened-in patio. We were seated on the terrace by the door, which was less than desirable but still good. The chair I was in was awfully uncomfortable, but the benches were suitable. For food, we ordered the crispy Brussels sprouts, Earl Grey tea bread, chicken tamales, berry French toast, mushroom bruschetta and fried oysters. The Brussels were good and perfectly cooked. The Earl Grey tea bread was good, but too sweet for me (not a sweets person). My friends ordered the chicken tamales and berry French toast, respectively, and enjoyed their meal. For me, the menu didn't have anything that caught my eye, so I made a meal of the small plates. I love mushrooms, but I felt that the mushrooms in the bruschetta needed to be chopped. Their meaty texture and large pieces made it less than desirable, even though the flavor was good. The oysters were well-cooked and served in an ample portion, but with cocktail sauce rather than aioli. When asked, she brought me the paprika aioli that's on the Brussels sprouts. Still, I think a lemon-and-herb aioli or a lemon-and-horseradish aioli would have been more appropriate for a fresh brightness to cut through the breading. It was almost a good meal, but oftentimes the devil is in the details.
