A++ for the steaks! We had the 45 day aged ribeye and the Australian wagyu ribeye. Cooked perfectly how we asked. Tender. Juicy. Well seasoned. Lobster deviled eggs - get them! But share them, because eggs are filling in general and you want to leave room for the main course, right? Bread is baked fresh and comes out hot if you ask for it. It doesn't come automatically for each table. The mac and cheese is a big and shareable portion. This restaurant has the fine dining feel as other Yelpers have stated. I will say the tables feel a little too close to each other though and it seemed like the waiters were bumping into the chairs a little (sorry) but overall beautiful restaurant. Valet $8

The steak we had here was phenomenal. It took a few tries before we finally landed on our selection. We originally wanted the dry-aged New York steak, but it was sold out. We then ordered the dry-aged tomahawk, only for our server to return and tell us they had just sold the last one. We ultimately ended up with the Australian Wagyu Cowboy Cut, which was delicious. The sides weren't anything exciting--just typical steakhouse offerings. If you want bread for the table, it is complimentary, but you have to specifically request it, as they won't offer it. Given the amount spent, they really should include it automatically, since bread and butter are standard at most steakhouses. The service was nice, helpful, and not pushy at all. The atmosphere, however, was quite loud. It made it difficult to talk to my partner, who was sitting directly across from me. Our server even had to switch sides of the table while speaking with us because neither of us could hear clearly. Overall, I'd give this experience three stars for a $500 night. And yes, I'm rating the experience--not just the food. I don't have any real complaints about the food itself, aside from it being a bit overpriced, but if the overall experience had been better, it would have felt worth it.

This place has an awesome patio area which is where we had a business meeting. My work colleague and I flew in to meet with some of our clients. Hannah was our server and an excellent one at that. She was very attentive and gave great suggestions on what to order. I had oysters on the half shell and they were very fresh and delicious. Then I had the jumbo diver scallops that was over a butternut squash puree. The scallops were not overcooked and cooked perfectly. Then I ordered the truffle fries we shared at the table. These were hands down the best truffle fries I've ever had. Most restaurants use a truffle oil but this was loaded with freshly shaved truffles and were so delicious. Let's just say the entire bowl was demolished at dinner. Next time I'm back in town would love to come back to try more!! P.S. The lemon cheesecake martini was absolutely delicious. Literally tasted like a liquid lemon cheesecake! Definitely give it a try. OMGGGGGG!!!!!!

45 day dry aged rib eye. Very good!

The food was amazing! Literally everything that was brought to the table was good. We had a party of 9 with the average plate costing around $150. What was disappointing was the service. Gone are the days when real professionals worked at places like this. It wasn't just the food, but the overall experience that you paid for. The hostess was unaccommodating and our waiter was slow and inattentive. At prices like this you would hope for more. Having said that this place blows Mastros out of the water and I'm looking forward to coming back for hopefully a better experience.

My rating is within the scope of high-end "white tablecloth" restaurants. Its opening was much anticipated by us "locals". Knowing the cost would be spendy, we decided to wait a bit for them to work the kinks out. So finally after my husband had a long, arduous workday, we decided to see if we could get a reservation. Yay! They had an opening for 8:00 the night of 11 Feb 2026. First we checked the dress code. The owner had answered the question here on Yelp along the order of anything ranging from Business Casual to Formal. Good, so we dressed "nice" with real shoes, his button down shirt, and my coordinated outfit. As we drove past the side of the building, we saw a sign: Valet Parking $8.00. Sigh. Given the neighborhood, there's street parking. It felt more like a money grab to me, since parking wasn't a challenge, with the valet only saving a few steps. After we entered we were greeted by the hostess. She led us to a table for two adjacent to the bar, and handed us the two-sided menus. Very quickly, our waiter, Canan greeted us and asked what kind of water we wanted. He offered the bottled wine menu, which we took a look at. They were out of the bone-in tenderloin, which my husband wanted, so he ordered the 8oz filet mignon, the beet salad, and the sweet potato gratin. I ordered the roasted cod with miso sauce. We ordered the New Zealand sauvignon blanc from the "by the glass" menu, to have with the salad, and the Babcock Syrah to have with the main courses. The beet salad was seriously huge; a big pile of arugula with 1/2" square chunks of steamed red and golden beets and topped generously with toasted pumpkin seeds. It was delicious, although I'd have preferred a tad less of the citrus dressing. Next time I'll order it on the side or ask for a light touch. The sweet potato gratin was creative, thinly sliced with each piece almost like hasselback russets, sandwiching cheese and maybe caramelized onions and baked to gooey goodness. It had a good outer crisp on it. My fish was a large chunk about 2.5" thick with a footprint about the size of a deck of cards. It looked like it had been lightly dusted with seasoned corn starch, then seared in olive oil. It had a really nice crisp all around, without obvious breading. A swoosh of the sauce was next to it. It was a bit thick but that's nitpicking. It was sweet and savory at the same time. There were no garnishes on the plate. Just, bam, a big piece of fish. He ordered his filet mid-rare. It turned out more like medium. He was happy with that, though, as he prefers it that way anyway. It came with all the sauces he wanted. He ordered three of them. He liked the chimichurri and mustard red wine sauces. He wasn't wild about the green peppercorn sauce. Unlike some other restaurants, there was no extra charge for the sauces. He ate every bite of the perfectly cooked steak. I ended up taking home half my fish. Our waiter was very professional. I liked that he would describe offerings in terms of flavor profiles. He'd say things like, "citrus forward" instead of "oh, it's really good". So he gave us the information we needed to choose what satisfied our moods. Overall, the food and service were excellent. There was a large party of men at the front of the house. They were loud to the point of boisterous and it was very hard to have a conversation at a normal indoor-voice level. Despite the owner's dress code comment, and even when there's a posted dress code (not posted here, but implied by their self-described high-end) there always seems to be "that guy" who foils the atmosphere by wearing a hoodie and a baseball cap. I wish restaurants would refuse service to people who disrespect the culture. Bon apetít!

Upscale steakhouse experience did not disappoint. Very friendly and attentive service. Beautiful interior although our table for two had an annoying wobble we couldn't quite mitigate. The food was excellent. Started with lobster deviled eggs and lobster bisque. Both were delicious, the bisque could have been a little richer, like maybe it didn't have quite enough cream but very generous with the lobster. Beet salad was good, could use some additional greens to complement the arugula which can by a bit much on its own. The rack of lamb was excellent. The tart cherry reduction was fantastic. Will definitely come back when we're in a spendy mood. (I liked the vibe at this place better than the more pretentious high end steakhouse down the street).

I hate to give a 1 star review but I was severely disappointed in this place. We got a special they had, a Denver cut of meat that came highly recommended from our server. The first time it came out it was so charred, neither of us could eat it. It tasted like we were licking an ash tray. So we sent it back naturally and they remade it, but it came out so salty it was inedible. My husband had to cut the top half of it off to avoid the salt and literally couldn't eat half of it. We told the restaurant but after they had remade it once we gave up. They comped us for half the price of the steak and mentioned this has been an issue others have been complaining about too. Yikes!!! Maybe pull the special from the menu if it isn't coming out edible. You don't over salt a good piece of meat!!! That's ridiculous for a $90 steak we still got charged half for! We do a good amount of fine dining in the area and won't be returning which is unfortunate. Additionally, the seared salmon sashimi was completely bland and over-seared imho. I would skip that for sure. The crab cakes were decent. The scallops were the best thing we ordered by far and I do highly recommend those. The Mac n cheese was good. The baked potato is massive!! But for the love of God, don't order the Denver!!

It's always a good sign when you can smell the smoky-goodness before you even walk into a steakhouse... and Old Oaks definitely delivers on that! I started with the Gem salad, which was great! Blue cheese heavy served with smoky bacon and pickled onions - definitely my kind of salad. I also appreciated their attention to detail serving the dish with chilled forks. For my main, I went with their in-house dry-aged tomahawk ribeye. The steak itself was cooked to perfection, but I wish it had come out on a warmed plate to help maintain the temperature. Lastly, I tried their olive oil cake, which was a little dry IMO, so just ask for extra sauce like I did! Service was excellent, and the ambiance is upscale. Overall, this is a great addition to the neighborhood. Looking forward to coming back!

I saw this steakhouse under construction last year and it is finally here. A friend made a reservation for dinner and it was a busy night. The crowd was mostly older. Nice bar with a good selection of whiskey and wines. The space between each table was a little tight. There was a gentleman who played old school music the night I was there. Our server was super nice and attentive. I ordered a filet and one grilled shrimp. The filet was to die for, it tasted like butter with perfect seasoning, but not the shrimp. It didn't taste 100% fresh. The lettuce salad was fantastic, the corn dish & crispy broccolini was ok, I had better. The lobster bisque was rich but not too thick. Overall, Old Oak steakhouse is way better than BLVD steakhouse. Top three on my list for steakhouses in the Valley. I will come back.

This place is by far the best steakhouse we have ever been to. Suck quality, from the tuna sashimi to the dry aged rib eye all top shelf. The cocktails amazing! The staff knowledge so superb. Our server James was so great, he knew Whiskey and Bourbon top to bottom. Had some of the hand crafted cocktails ever! The vibe in the restaurant combines old world charm with a modern ambiance. 12 out of 10, highly recommend!

This was my first time visiting this restaurant, entering into stunning restaurant with a huge wine selection and Bar. They have a big selection of meat that the age at the restaurant and serve one kosher steak.. We ordered some starters that were very delicious like the tuna tartare, the carpaccio beef and yellow tail for Mindish. We had different stakes that I can say that we're a very good. The sides like the sweet potato with cream is definitely a must if you visit this restaurant.. the energy and service was amazing. I will definitely come back again soon..

My husband and I came here for a date night, and it was absolutely perfect. He ordered the steak, and I went with the lamb--both were cooked to perfection, but the lamb was truly exquisite. Every bite was flavorful, tender, and beautifully prepared. The ambiance was warm and inviting--elegant but still comfortable, making it the ideal setting for a night out. Service was excellent as well; attentive without ever being overbearing. We couldn't resist dessert, and we're so glad we didn't--it was the perfect sweet ending to an already memorable meal. Old Oaks Steakhouse is definitely a gem in Thousand Oaks. We left already talking about when we'll be back. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a special night out!

The cocktails are available by the glass or pitcher. Next time we are definitely going with pitcher(s) of margaritas. We ordered a handful of dishes and all were excellent. Hmm, this has all the qualities to be a 5 star review, but a few things missed the mark for me…read more First of all, the layout of the restaurant seating doesn't make it super easy to walk around to get to your seat or the bathroom. I felt like I was running into servers and dead ends both times I had to walk through the restaurant. Our food came out no more than 5 minutes after ordering it on a very busy Saturday night which was a little bizarre. Don't get me wrong it's definitely nice to not have to wait for a long time, but we had literally just been given our chips and salsa appetizer so it felt rushed. And to that point, to charge for chips and salsa when every other restaurant on earth gives them for free, I want them to be the best I've ever had, and although the chips were warm, neither the chips or salsa tasted particularly homemade or great. I'm a big mole fan and maybe this is just preference, but the mole here had way way way more of a smoky taste when I was hoping for more of that sweetness. It wasn't my favorite mole I've ever had. The highlights of the night food wise were the esquite corn and the fresh chopped salad. The biggest blunder of the night happened as we were close to finishing our meal (thank god). A woman came over the to the table next to us, sprayed a bottle labeled "sanitizer" all over the table 2 feet away from us, and the breeze or fan from the outside seating literally wafted all of the sanitizing spray onto our bodies and our food. Like I legit felt spray land on my arm, my mom on her leg, and onto our table filled with food. We were shocked, why wouldn't you spray CHEMICALS into the dish rag you're about to wipe with, rather than in the direction of two people EATING 2 feet away? The woman just said "sorry!" and ran away.... We had plenty of leftovers on the table, but we opted not to bring home the dish that was closest to the other table as we're pretty sure there was cleaning solution on it. Even taking a sip of water, we had it in our minds that it started to taste weird. Very very strange experience.

I'd been wanting to go back and take Dear Hubby to enjoy this very special re-imagining of the previous space, which had been an Irish pub incarnation. When our sister-in-law and two nieces were in town, the five of us were able to spend a quick evening together at Selvin's. We had been working on a project at our house, and by the time we got finished and ready to go out there wasn't a lot of time left as we went on a weeknight and they close at 9:00. I'm surprised that having a full bar, and being attached to a hotel property, that they would hang it up so early - even 9:30 or 10:00 would make more sense. It's such a charming place; seems a shame to have to call it a night so early. The ambiance is absolutely divine, especially out here in suburbia. It's very innovative in its layout. The lighting was carefully planned and is very effective in creating a special mood. And, what can be said about the wall of roses? It's tailor-made for snapping fun photos, that's for sure. The chef is sending out creative and Dee-Licious dishes from the kitchen. Yes, I know how to spell delicious, but it is worth adding the accented flair to stating the fact that this is a cut above many other dining establishments in the Conejo Valley. Dear Hubby and I shared Pappardelle Pasta and a Tuna Tartare appetizer. Both were excellent. One of our nieces ordered the taco platter. Wait till you see the photo. The only thing that was disappointing, menu-wise, was that bread wasn't included, so we ordered some as a side. Two little slices. I've forgotten the price, but I recall that it turned into sticker shock when we saw what was served. I'm tickled that they offer a nice array of zero proof cocktail options. They aren't inexpensive - apparently spirits without alcohol aren't any less (or maybe only slightly less?) than the full-spirited options. Still, it's nice to have the option. Our out of town family members LOVED Selvin's; it was a big hit with all of us. As an added bonus, there was a guitarist playing beautiful acoustic music when we arrived and were seated in the lounge area. Major extra credit!

It's the perfectly curated trio - Dirty Martini, followed by a well dressed crisp Cesar salad, and perfectly hot Truffle French fries. That's girl dinner in a nutshell (trust us on this combo). On their speciality menu it's called "Martinis and Munchies for Two" for $49. An amazing deal split between two friends. Dirty Martini: Some of the best ice cold martinis on this side of town. These cocktails were crafted to perfection and were always a sucker for the blue cheese stuffed olives. Tossed Cesar Salad: A Cesar salad during these hot summer months always hits the spot. Crisp, cold and fresh. The dressing was solid but I must highlight the lightly scattered capers on this salad - so smart and so tasty! Truffle French Fries: After a few martinis these French fries come in clutch. Crispy, hot and perfectly salted - who doesn't love a French fry and an aioli with a kick. Honorable Mention: PASTA. I was very impressed with my pasta dish here. Ordered the pappardelle bolognese and this pasta was a 10/10. Perfectly cooked ribbons of pasta with a hearty meat sauce and the Stracciatella topping sealed the deal for me on this pasta. We had a fabulous girls dinner from start to finish. The ambience at Selvin's is truly magical and we just love the decor and bar area. We had a cozy little booth to ourselves and the service was top-notch from start to finish. Extra kudos to Claudia for being a bubbly, lovely girls girl who was super attentive to us during our meal and made the night A+. Can't wait to come back soon.

I was wrong. Cork Dork IS a wine bar but the food is absolutely not an after thought. There's a great amount of care and passion behind the dishes (my guest and I got the tasting menu), as was evident in talking with Danny the head chef. A spectrum of vivid flavors. Friendly and attentive staff.

Stars across the board! What an amazing evening here at Cork Dork. What a gem tucked in and away…read morefrom all the hustle and bustle. First time in for dinner and was pleasantly greeted at the hostess stand, whom let us in early for our reservation. You enter the restaurant to what seems like a cozy little dining room but then surprised with this added enchanting area. Which I might add, comes with a cool hidden library for private events. After getting comfortable and enjoying our experience perusing the menus via tablet, we were pleasantly welcomed by...Rosie. By far, top five best experiences at a restaurant, all thanks to her. She took us all throughout the menu, made amazing recommendations, and took our evening and completely escalated our night. From the wine, to the amazing plates, to the delicious desserts, all was absolutely top tier. My favorite by far, was the wild mushroom risotto which was out of this world. If I can't compliment the food enough, Rosie was just amazing. I mentioned to her before we left, "it's as if you took us up on a hot air balloon ride with and ever so gently brought us back down to earth." That's what our evening was like in best terms. Thank you again to the staff and owners at Cork Dork. Most of all, thank you again to Rosie. We will definitely be back for another amazing visit.

Let's start with their FRITTO MISTO, a mouthwatering combination of fried calamari and shrimp. The addictive sauce that accompanies it is a must-order, and we often find ourselves ordering extra! For a hearty side, try their grandmother Nonna's meatballs, POLPETTE DELLA NONNA. They're incredibly tasty and a great way to start your meal. If you're a fan of zucchini blossoms, you'll absolutely love their FIORI DI ZUCCA RIPIENI. It's a delightful dish that's sure to impress. One of my favorite salads is their INSALATA DELLA CASA, which is a refreshing and healthy option. Adding grilled shrimp takes it to the next level. Now, let's talk about their main courses. Their seafood and pasta dishes are all mouthwatering, but here are our favorites: 1) CACIO E PEPE: This dish is incredibly delicious and goes to another level when you add their grilled shrimp and truffle. 2) BRANZINO: Their seafood is cooked perfectly every time, and they often have HALIBUT as a special dish, which we love as a great alternative. 3) BOLOGNESE: Our son absolutely devours this dish, and it's a great option for kids. 4) STROZZAPRETI: This pasta dish is another great choice, filled with a lot of flavor. 5) LASAGNA: It used to be our number one dish until we started exploring their menu. 6) BRASATO DI MANZI: This is an ultra-delicious bone-in slow-braised beef short rib dish that's out of this world! And finally, let's talk about dessert. Their NONNA'S CAKE is the best butter cake ever! It's their grandmother's own recipe, and it's a must-try. Try to save room or split it with a partner, because you'll want to savor every bite of this magical treat!

We ordered carbonara with shaved fresh black truffles, Caesar salad, braised short rib and tiramisu. For my daughter's birthday, they gave her complementary vanilla bean panna cotta. We Loved everything! Only thing I'm not a fan of and it happens all the time, they always have three hostesses. Whenever I walk in, they're in their own little group chatting, looking at their phone's, laughing. They never look who walks through the door until I walk up and say hi then they turn around. They should always be attentive. Especially during a busy dinner time.
