Well it's been a year now and I just had to come back and give an update on my last move. A year ago , I was blessed to come home which I didn't know at the time of move in. Let me just say I have found home here with the wonderful staff at La Estancia Apartments. Chastity, you did everything you said you would do and more and I'm so blessed. You don't find many that keep their word, but you did. There has never been a time I requested something and it wasn't granted always with a smile on your face. I even asked for a chandelier in my bedroom because they fan dries my eyes out and you said we can see what we can do and that made my day. You see, I was home and wanted to be bougee on a budget. Here's the good part. I came upon hard times in December 2024 and was out of work on leave without pay and couldn't pay my rent and did not apply for any assistance because I felt that there were people that needed it more than me. I ended up with an eviction notice for the first time in my life. I was devastated. It's been filed. I knew nothing about this process and I felt some type of way. I went to the office and they explained the process to me in the kindest way and in no way made me feel less than. Not only did I have to pay December rent but January rent as well and it was looking like I was going to be homeless for the first time in my life. $4000.00 plus dollars , how am I going to come up with this money but I promised Chastity that you've made this place my home and I'm not leaving you! That same God that sent me back here is the same God that made a way for me to pay what I owed that Saturday before the lockout the next week but also I just paid my rent for February 2025. When there are good people managing your business, customers will stick with you. There is no other place I would rather be than home at La Estancia Apartments. It's quiet, always clean and fairly priced. To the owner , I hope to meet you one day because I want to thank you for hiring Chastity. Apartment is quiet which is great but if you ever have any kind of repair that is needed you are going to have to wait. I've now waited almost a month to fix the agitator in our laundry machine. Simple fix but apparently not with this place. After a $250 dollar increase in rent this past January this is something I didn't expect. I've called the office now 3 different times and still it remains unfixed. Not to mention water mains get shut off with less then 24 hour notice. Overall this place is the lowest rent place in Tempe and this is probably why. Management is great but their hands are tied. They should just burn this place down and start over. read more

If you are even remotely considering moving in here, please read this review. If you are still considering moving in after reading this review, make sure to do a full inspection of the apartment that you are moving in to, before moving in and check your water temperatures! This place is probably the worst choice for apartments in all of Tempe. When I moved in, the front of the stove was literally melted, the compressor on the fridge was dying, there were little holes and dents in all of the walls, the tubs were both discolored and mold on all of the walls. They told me that they installed new carpet in every apartment, between residents, but the carpet in my apartment was covered in paint near the walls and had a dark spot near the sliding door. It took them 3 days to replace the stove and two weeks to replace the fridge. They didn't bother addressing any other issues, so I had to clean the entire apartment, patch the walls, and use a steam cleaner to get all the paint and dark spot out of the carpet. During my stay, water started leaking from the roof in the shower. It took them over 4 hours to respond to the emergency service call and over 2 months, before they patched the hole that was made, during their repairs. They didn't want to finish the repairs, unless I was at the house, so I had to take 2 days off from work, just to get them to finish the repairs. The second day was because the one repair man who was scheduled to make the repairs called in sick (yet, I saw him riding around in a golf cart, so he apparently was not sick). The biggest issue was that I never had hot water in my kitchen, the entire time that I lived there. This was due to the gaskets on the hot and cold water knobs, under the sink, were so degraded that if you turned the knobs even slightly, they would spray water everywhere. The repair men refused to fix the issue, even though I reported it 4 times. At the end of my lease, I decided to move out. A month later, they decided to make me regret my stay there an even bigger disappointment, by sending me an invoice for almost $1000, for them to replace the carpets (that they had told me they replace between every resident) and $25 for for a slight dust ring on the roof, above the fan in the living room. After fighting with them for a couple weeks, I just paid them the money, to close off all ties with them. read more

La Estancia Apartments - Apartments Near Me - Tempe, Arizona

I have lived here for 2 1/2 years now and I love this complex. It's not the newest complex but it is one of the roomiest I have lived in and has everything you need. A nice sized kitchen with plenty of cupboard space and a pantry. Our 2 bedroom, 2 bath unit comes with your standard microwave, fridge, stove/oven, dishwasher and a washer and dryer in every unit in your laundry room in every patio. The floor plans are large and both bedrooms are about the same size where we have a king bedroom set with plenty of room to walk around. There are ceiling fans/light in both bedrooms and the living room. The dining room is large where you can have a table of 6 with no problem. Each bedroom has a patio which is really nice. With plenty of shady trees all around the apts stay nice & cool which means a reasonable power bill in the Summertime. The staff here are great. If you need something fixed they are right on top of it and are very professional. The pool areas are nice, clean and have water & soda vending machines and a charcoal BBQ are if you want to get your grill on. There is a tennis court and indoor gym that you can use which is nice and being right by Kiwanis Park and a bike/jogging path is convenient too. La Estancia has plenty of restaurants and fast food places very close by with a lot more options on delivery service. If you need to grocery shop you have an Albertson's less than a mile away and a Fry's aprx. 2 miles away. You also have a Super Wal-Mart, Costco, Target, Lowes & Home Depot all within a 5 minute drive. If I have one complaint is the parking stinks. We have one assigned spot all the way out by the street near the driveway. My wife and I park in unassigned parking spots which are a lot closer to our apt. There are times where there are no places to park in the unassigned spots but plenty of empty covered parking which is assigned but never used due to vacancy I believe? I even asked if they can assign us a closer spot (I have knee problems and walk with a cane) and they said no. Come on guys, you can do better than that. Honestly, if you did away with the assigned parking and it was first come first serve, I don't think anyone would complain. La Estancia is great on keeping the complex clean and it is pet friendly. Heck they even have pooper bags in dispensers in various areas to pick up after your animal which I thought was cool. I would definitely recommend my friends to move in if they are looking for a place to live. I'm not leaving anytime soon and am very happy to live here. read more

Problem after problem, to start off they told my roommate and I that we were moving into has hard wood floors all throughout the apartment except in the bedrooms, they told us that it would be fully remodeled ( for the more expensive rate) and we were all about it. First off, BUGS!!!!! we have had a cockroach problem in the kitchen and in our guest bathroom sense we moved in, we have repeatedly called to get the pest extermination here and they have came once,( called front office at least 5 times) and the bugs are still here! second, now that we have moved in we are disappointed, first off the (hard wood) floors were rubber, there are bubbles all over the laminate that they used so they did a horrible job laying it, and it isn't even in the entire apartment! 3rd, the very first load of dishes that got ran through the machine broke it, it has been leaking sense even after we have called them telling them and they won't fix it. I'm tired of all of the bull crap that goes on, they are very quick blame stuff on me as well, I have been yelled at for speeding in my complex before, (I don't even have a car) and I have also been accused for not picking up my dogs poop many times and threatened with fines multiple times, this complex is ran by a couple of girls who just keep giving you the run around until you leave them alone. Pretty good place to stay. Only issue we had was the pricing. Also had some annoying neighbors at one point that liked to call the office every time for our music during the day. Nevertheless they didn't last long. We stayed here for two years. The ladies in the office were always nice. You get a lot of space in the apartments. Overall would recommend this place if your comfortable paying the cost to be here. There are other places better for the price point. read more

I have lived here for 2.5 years and can honestly say this place is great! The office manager Gabby is friendly, helpful, and always makes sure I get my packages. I love the size of my apartment for the cost, and my view of the golf course. It's is so peaceful at night, I forget I am in the city. If I didn't have to move to be closer to work, I would stay living here for a long time! read more

Well where to begin. First off please read the this reviews for this place it is the worst place to live. I moved out due to the nasty huge sewer roaches. I had sewer roaches that kept coming into the guest bathroom, I had plugged every drain and still was coming in from somewhere I made the complaint to the office and was told that I can switch apartments which clearly tells you they knew about what he previous tenant moved from that apartment to another as well which was probably for the same thing. They also cut your water off for no reason no notices are given at all. The list goes on. I'm taking them to small claims court now to settle the erroneous charges for this that aren't valid. I've been living here for about a month and I really like it. The office ladies are super sweet and helpful, and the apartments have a great layout. The only thing I would change is it's sometimes noisy on the weekends, but that's to be expected in Tempe. Overall I'm very happy and satisfied. read more

I have lived here for almost 3 years and I don't have many bad things to say. It's a quiet complex and everything is kept nice and clean. When we first moved in we did have issues with roaches but once we spoke to the complex they did get that issue fixed right away. The only thing that does bother me is I feel like the office is very disorganized. It took over a week for my name to get added to my boyfriends lease. First they forgot about it and then when I reminded them they couldn't find my file. We are also moving to a upgraded apartment they offer so they stated they we needed to have a walk thru completed on our current apartment. I set up 3 separate appointments for them to come complete the walk thru and no one showed up either time, no calls no nothing. I had to call them multiple times to finally get the walk thru completed. I do love this place that's why we did renew the lease again. It's very spacious and generally a nice place to live. I just wish the office was a little better at keeping track of things. read more

DO NOT RENT HERE!! Staff are awful, Roaches galore, and consistent unresolved issues!!! They are WAY overpriced (check and compare with any other establishments in the area). Read more below: Issue 1. Roaches began to be and remained a serious issue the entirety of my stay. SO MANY ROACHES. So many, I felt like they should be paying rent! So many, that I was paranoid to leave any drains or plugs open. So many that at one point, I actually woke up to a roach crawling over my back!! Issue 2. I dealt with 3 major water pipe floods in my area that forced the water to be shut off. One of the times they turned off the water without 24 hours notice and I was left to survive all day at home with my son with no running water. Each time the maintenance came out to repair these major leaks, they would aimlessly dig several enormous holes around the walkways and leave them there for weeks at time. Very dangerous and not exactly smart as any number of children that play outside each day could have easily fallen into these pits and injured themselves. Not to mention that the turn-around for these repairs was much longer than necessary. Issue 3. There were several cars damaged by fallen Eucalyptus tree branches. When they finally got a crew to come out and trim the branches down a bit, the noise and fumes from their equipment were horrendous and everyone I spoke with in the community was unhappy They failed to clean up the mess this made. Months later, more branches continued to fall. Issue 4. There were lots of sprinkler heads that had been cut off and the water leaking from them have legitimate mold settling around them - scattered throughout the entire complex. Come to find out, these were the least of my problems at La Estancia. WORST ISSUE # 4:Long story short: If you have loud neighbors upstairs - the staff will NOT accommodate you. They do not care. They will give you the run around and ignore your calls, hang up on you, lie to you. They will not call the neighbors to resolve the issue. I spent over 2 months dealing with loud upstairs neighbors and found out that the main reason is because they installed HARD WORD floors upstairs... which is AGAINST policy!! I ended up talking to these loud neighbors myself over a dozen times pleading with them to be quiet after 8:30pm. I called the leasing office almost every time, pleading with them to fix this issue. Nothing got resolved!! The staff was not only unresponsive to my calls, but when I went down to talk to the staff they refused to let me speak with the manager (Jamie) and stared me down like I was their worst enemy. It was just plain humiliating. I asked to have the neighbors moved ASAP or allow me to break my lease a month early, because at that point I only had about a month and a half left on my lease.They said they had an available unit and they would "try" but several days..weeks went by with no resolution. I even called the cops and they weren't able to do anything because the neighbors ignored the officer when they showed up. I ended up having to stay with family for close to a month because my son would constantly wake up from the noise upstairs and I had had enough. Come to find out the neighbors did end up moving at some point while I was staying with family, which I found out only after showing up to my apartment to start packing my belongings and noticed the vacant apartment above me. The staff NEVER INFORMED ME!!! Not once. Then they tried to LIE to my face and stated they had called me and left a voicemail. FALSE. LIE. THAT DID NOT HAPPEN. How much more unprofessional, careless, and down right RUDE can you get!??? They are so unprofessional it is obscene. The staff are all horrendous, catty women and I am convinced that they are racist as well. My "stay" at La Estancia was AWFUL AWFUL AWFUL. This place should be called "LA ESTANCIA MUY MAL!!" I'm pretty confused as to why there are so many mixed reviews, I've lived here for 3 years and have never had anything but good experiences, I know it's an older complex, but the staff has always been super accommodating about getting anything fixed or changed. The space you get for the price makes it worth it. I love having all the trees and grass that is hard to find in Tempe, a perk of the place being around for a while is that some of the trees are older and huge which I love. It's kind of hidden away in a mostly industrial area but this keeps it super quiet and it's right by a park and golf course which add to the greenery. read more

I contacted the office today because I found something hanging off my ceiling. The office quickly determined that it was a termite's nest. They stated that they will get someone to come out Tuesday and it is currently Friday. There was no sense of urgency nor did they make any accommodations. The way it is being handled is very unprofessional and I suggest that all current residents and future residents check the ceilings. It's a huge liability especially because I live on the lower level and I don't know the severity of the damage. This matter is being escalated. read more

I've had a very positive experience here and wanted to share: I am coming up on my one year at La Estancia. When I was looking I went to a ton of places and stuck with La Estancia and haven't regretted it. Location- great location, close to Fresh and Easy and albertsons, the park, golf course, canal trail, and a quick drive to shopping/freeways. It's tucked away off the main road so it is quiet and across from a police station making it feel even safer. Other Tenants- all my neighbors have been friendly and reasonably quiet. A lot of kids live here but I wouldn't know it if I didn't go to work the same time the school bus comes. They are so quiet! No loud parties since I've been here either. Outside- recently the painting was redone and it looks good. There are covered spots for tenants and guest parking too. I have never had an issue finding parking for our second car in our lot. There are a couple pools, a tennis court, and plenty of trees. Inside- I live in a one bedroom. It is an open floor plan with plenty of space! The closet in the bedroom is amazing. I wish I had enough stuff to fill it. The kitchen has a large pantry and lots of storage space. Every place I look at now looks so small because it is very open and the rooms are big. The appliances aren't bad. Sometimes my dishwasher gets stuck but I don't use it much so I've never asked to get it fixed. The washer and dryer are newer and I've never had any issues. I've seen some of the re-done units and they look great too! Mine isn't one of the most recently updated ones and it is still perfect. There are two ceiling fans which is nice because I don have to use my AC as much. Staff- the first time I came to the office after my visit I was shocked the women remembered me! They were nice, friendly and made me feel valued. I ask a lot of questions and know I can be a pest but they are always helpful. I usually go into the office right as they are closing too because of my work hours but they are still kind and help me. I've never needed to call maintenance but each time something has been redone or painted I got a notice well in advance. A couple times the water has had to get shut off but there is always significant notice on that too. Cost- I pay a little over $700 before utilities. It was more reasonable, bigger, and felt safer than all the other $700+ places I looked at. Downsides- I don't have much to say. I'm lazy so I wish there was a dumpster closer to my apartment. Where they have them makes sense though so you can't smell them. The gym is small and I've never got to use it because it is only open when the office is, conveniently my work hours. However, I don't think it was like that until someone abused the privilege. There are gyms nearby and the canal/park literally right next to it though so there are other workout options. A bunch of little beetles kept crawling through a crack somewhere in my kitchen during the fall. No harm though and it didn't last long. No roaches or scorpions ever spotted. read more

I really enjoyed my time here. It was only for a year but the layout of the apartments were great! I loved the bedroom size! (2 bedroom, bottom floor) For the most part, when I had an issue (bugs, drains, etc) they resolves the issue quickly! The main concern I had with them was that it was a little overpriced and they had an issue with me having a dog door installed. I have to have a dog door because I had 3 jobs and couldn't be at home all the time. And to prevent as much barking as possible, I had purchased a bark collar too but we had kids that would taunt our dogs at times for fun (kids will be kids). But other than that, I loved it over there! One of the best things was my interactions with their assistant manager Kim! She was amazing! I have to say that every convo I ever had experienced with her was awesome and fun and I'll gladly go back just to hang and talk with her :) Side note: Tonya is funny and great too :) read more

I would not recommend anyone moving to this apartment. The grounds are very nice, there is a golf course to the east of the complex and Kiwanis park is nearby. That's where the appeal ends. This complex is over 20 years old and literally falling apart. My wife and I had endless nails coming out of the floorboards, and there are always little construction sites all over the place that sit unfinished for months. Our water had been shut off multiple times due to tree roots entangling with water pipes. to add to these issues, management at this complex provides no customer service at all. In particular, manager Jamie and asst. Araceli are generally unwilling to help you in any way. My wife and i just moved out of this complex and needed two extra hours past our move out time. I asked the office if we could have a two hour extension to finish moving and cleaning and was given a flat out no with no consideration at all. There have been numerous other instances of non cooperative office employees that I'm not going to laundry list. Suffice it to say despite the pleasant grounds this apartment is not worth your time or consideration. read more
