Outstanding food! We had been traveling for several hours, very hungry, and in need of something good. Yelp led us here, and we were so grateful! We arrived about an hour before closing, but the staff were still friendly, welcoming, and polite. It was a cool night, so we chose to eat outside -- the perfect ending to our day.

The place promised Italian ingredients, and the tang of the tomatoes on my pizza suggested quality. Of course, quality tomatoes exist in the U.S. (it's an American plant), but I digress. My starter salad was substantial and full of flavor, and I was thrilled that their pizza specials actually matched up to my tastes for once. They like mushrooms, calabrian chili, and kale, and I got two of the above on my Vesuvius pizza. The style of pizza was more American though, given that it was drowning in cheese rather than dotted with a few blobs of fresh mozzarella. The residential-looking space had charm, with a framed document on the wall of the family's arrival as immigrants in New York a century ago. Plenty of people were working and there was no delay in service. Prices were significantly higher than what I'd read online, perhaps a sign of the times, but I certainly ended up stuffed; dessert was a no. Other than the typical caveats that classic Italian doesn't have much for those who avoid wheat and dairy, I couldn't ask a lot more from them.

Small family owned restaurant that packs great hospitality and flavor! For the app we had the meatball trio, which was good. The sauce and cheese accompanying the meatballs were very good. The meatballs seemed to be a little dry but still had some good flavor. For entrees we had pizza and shrimp scampi. The pizza was good but the crust seemed to be somewhat undercooked. This is the second time having the pizza here and the first time could've been the best pizza in town. The shrimp scampi was a special for the night. The scampi was very good and the sauce was great. Overall the meal was good and we will be back.

The service was awesome, and the restaurant is such a nice vibe. Would definitely come back! The focaccia bread was amazing and peach cobbler. My entree was okay.

    Meatball appetizer, 6 meatballs total.

La Famiglia is an excellent upscale option for dinner out, and is perfect for special occasions, impressing visitors, or anyone seeking excellent Italian food and a great selection of both beer and wine. I came here recently with a friend to give this place a try and it greatly exceeded my expectations. Richmond, VA spoiled me with its many excellent Italian restaurants, though La Famiglia is a true gem in an area without many options. I had a personal pizza on this occasion and got chicken Parmesan on a previous visit, with both proving to be delicious and well-portioned for the price. The wine list is extensive, and their Italian draft beer options are unique in the area; I had a Peroni, and I have yet to see that offered on draft anywhere else within 25 miles. While I did not partake in dessert, the menu was certainly appealing and if I hadn't been so full from the main course, I would definitely have availed myself of something from it! Seating is very intimate, with very little space in between tables, though the restaurant interior itself is appealing. The service is okay, though mostly unremarkable. Parking here is similarly tight, with no lot and only competitive street spots available. I recommend parking around the corner on the adjacent residential streets, long as you don't mind a four minute walk or so. I enjoyed my trip here and definitely plan to return in the future. Overall: 4.0 stars ----- Pros: - Excellent food and drink options. - Attractive interior, good for family events or dates. - Outdoor seating would be excellent on a spring evening. - Pricing is fair considering the quality of the fare offered. Cons: - Seating is somewhat cramped, more so when it's busy. - Lack of parking makes it a bit of a challenge here.

The set up is hilariously insane, worth the stop alone. The cashier was fun and friendly, and the graffiti in the women's room was inspiring! I have a basic bitch stomach, so got the "Puppy" with just ketchup. Sproßling got the Mothman, garnished with I believe onion rings and 1000 Island. Husband got his smothered in jalapeños. We split a full size onion rings, which were hot and tasty. We all had Gold Peak tea. The dogs tasted great, if I had a normal stomach I would have gotten a second one. As it was, we were in and out and back on the road quick as a wink!

Tucked away just a few minutes off I-64 in Barboursville, WV, this place offers eccentric hot dogs at a reasonable price. Using all beef dogs they create some wild and crazy options as well as the basics. Surprisingly they have non-dog choices and some vegetarian options too. Look, truth be told the dogs themselves are average, but you're not here just for the food. You're here for the experience. The place is decorated - every square inch of it - with stuff that looks like it came right off the Clampett's jalopy. (Look it up kids.) Bring your aw shucks attitude, because the punny signs are everywhere. And with a little planning ahead, apparently you can actually get married in the Weddin' Chapel. It's tacky and corny and therefore the perfect roadside stop. We arrived around 11:30 on a Sunday and had a short wait. When we left under an hour later, the line was creeping towards the street. Our line moved quickly in part to the friendly staff. The wait for our food wasn't long either. There was plenty of outdoor shady seating, but you can also sit inside in their "renovated" school bus. Is it a 5-star dining experience? No. Is it a 5-star road trip destination. You bet yer britches!
